I’ve seen or used these techniques before but it’s great that you put them all together. I actually like the hairspray for threading my serger. Had not thought of that. For a seam guide I also use the felt pads used for chair legs. They are gentle, and just sticky enough. Thanks.
Years ago, I made 4-in-1 ruffled curtains for several rooms of my home. I sewed two rows of the zig zags over embroidery floss, on the ruffle, gathered it, and pinned it to the curtain. I then was able to sew right down the middle of the two zig zags. This way I didn’t have to worry about getting pleats instead of ruffles!
