Hello sir, please guide regarding prospects of Mch Plastic surgery after MS Orthopaedics. Will orthopaedic pg knowledge help in plastics , or will orthopedician be at a disadvantage in plastics (wrt peers who did pg general surgery)? Do they qualify/can practice as reconstructive surgeons? What is the scope of it? Please explain/clarify regarding combination of MS Orthopaedics + MCh Plastic surgery, what are their career, practice options, and do they have any niche role. Thank you sir in advance.
Sir Thanks a lot for making this video Was very informative Sir just have one question Which place in India u feel is the best to do sports medicine fellowship????
sir , im having a passion of becoming a neurosurgeon ! but i have read in internet that neurosurgery is a stress full job , and we cant sleep well, we cant enjoy our life nu ! is it true ? i have some questions also ! 1) please tell average salary of neurosurgeon in state govt colleges (like tamilnadu)(because im from tamilnadu), govt hospitals, central institutions like AIIMS, NIMHANS, JIPMER,etc and in private sectors?? and what is the salary of a neurosurgeon in US,UK,foreign countries, etc 2) Direct 6 years MCh neurosurgery or Mch after MS general surgery- which is best ? what is the difference of value among them in hospitals and salary 3) what is the night duty of neurosurgeons , since accidents may occur even at night ? the nightduty (emergency trauma cases) occasional or occuring everyday or will they put duty roaster for just one day night duty in a week ? because without 8 hours of good sleep, my life will becoming frustrated (im actually a good sleeping guy, but having a passion in neurosurgery) please tell ! if there is no sleep, i may choose otherbranches also ! 4) Is there any demansd of neurosurgery in india ? 5) can we change or fix our duty timings in private or in govt sectors ? 6) finally , is neurosurgery can even become a good branch for a good sleeping , peace loving guy but who has a passion on neurosurgery ?? (even 2 to 3 lac/month of salary is Ok for me, but i want peace in life even though i want to become a neurosurgeon) so please tell the real career aspects of neurosurgery ! IT WILL SURELY HELP OTHERS ALSO !
7) and is there any research options in neurosurgery ??? i am very much interested in research about brain functions and brain surgery also sir ! please guide me sir !
1. Yes, neurosurgery is stressful. Surgeries last a minimum of 5 hours and even over 12 hours and most have to be looking into a microscope or an endoscope. Minor mistake can cost lives and lot of your patients die or survive with deficits . All these take a toll on you. But you can have a life. And sleep , of course. Now questions . 1. Tn government gives only 2 increaments for finishing a superspeciality. So your salary will be a 2000 rs higher than an MBBS. If you join after mch , I can be around 60000 , right now .Private in TN u get a starting salary of 2 lakhs and increasing after. U can get 5 lakhs per month in kerala and 2nd level cities. Don't know about foreign countries. 2. No difference between direct and post MS mch. Direct people have much more time to read and gain more experience during pg period but a lot of them decide to join without an exposure to neurosurgery and hence regret taking neurosurgery. While post MS have an exposure and take knowing what they are getting into and have a basic understanding of surgery before hand . No difference post degree. 3. Depends on the place you join . In most places you are on call every 3 to 5 days, depending on how many neurosurgeons work with you.Sleep - again depends on your place of work. If u want to sleep, u can always join in places without much work. But then again, during your pg , u will lose sleep and by the time you finish, sleep might not mean that much to you. 4. Need for neurosurgery is increasing each day everywhere . RTA is increasing each day. Demand is very high in second tier cities. But demand is concentrated. Because you cannot do neurosurgery in all hospitals . Only in those with microscopes and all. Hospitals with neuro set up are limited and they must be willing to take the risk of patient dying. So limited choices for you. But you will always have a job. 5. Ofcourse 6. 6. Short answer - no. But you might not be the same guy after 10 years. So if u have real passion, follow it.
