II. Andante sostenuto 2 Pieces for 6 Hands Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninoff Plamena Mangova, Primo Francesco Piemontesi, Secondo Anna Vinnitskaya, Terzo
Nostalgic. Beautiful. Made me cry more than once. I remember sight reading this piece with my friends and I'm brought back to such a happy time. I miss that moment. I miss everything man. and I've missed everything that could've been.
Remarkable for a young, 18 year old, composer. Of course he re-used that opening part for the 2nd concerto. His lush lyrical gifts are immediately evident, even at this age. How wonderful.
I feel depressed that this is a piece for 6 hands. I would love to play this myself but knowing I won’t have the honor to play this on my own is sad. Such a beautiful piece. Rachmaninov the King
What can yiou say...It's Rachmaninov.... The creator of his own music. I love the pictures. Never have seen them before. When I was a teenager I had a Rachmaninov tee shirt made.
Ben Ancona The opening of this piece sounds very much like ‘Explorers’ by Muse. Other examples where Rachmaninov has been an influence on Muse are in ‘Butterflies and Hurricanes’ and the ‘’Exogenesis Symphony’.

cubanbach yes, it does seem that he uses the same opening for the moderato section in his concerto! A brilliant composer he was!

Me sorprende que tanta belleza haya salido del ser humano

sounds like chopin, i like it
Fun fact : Rachmaninoff can play this piece using only his left hand
Now I know where Matt Bellamy from Muse got his inspiration
Can you give an example?

not to forget Neutron Star Collision’s ending as well. Heavily inspired by one of Rach’s Piano Concerto (2nd concerto 3mvt)
Is there arrangment for one player or this is 6 hands ?
six hands
This is a piece written for 6 hands, or 1 octopus.
