They got in my house loft, many years ago. Now I trap them as soon as I see them, fenn trap, in vertical box with the correct sized hole in the top, peanuts on the plate of the trap, the squirrel sees the nuts, leans in through the hole and treads on the trigger plate. Good video, thanks. Peace be unto you.
I’m also a pest controller and I’ve had squirrels chew through 0.8 mm metal plate. Obviously they are rodents that need to chew something to keep their front teeth in check. I’ve seen a dead squirrel that actually died because his teeth grew up and into his brain. Yes there are a lot of amateur pro’s out there but they usually get found out. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
You guys are doing good work. I had red squirrels in my old flat. There was a big tree literally above my flat and everyday Id watch this bloody squirrel dive off my roof onto a branch and go about his daily routine. Then at stupid o clock in the morning id hear scratching right above my head. They mustve gotten in through a broken slat on roof. The council here in the UK said they were endangered and said they wouldnt put poison or traps down. Ah the memories😂
Thanks for the compliment. 😊 We wouldn’t touch Red squirrels either, the are more than endangered, they are a protected species. There are only a few pockets left of them in England. Mersey Island in Essex, Anglesey, Northumberland and maybe a couple of other places. They are endangered because of the horrible Grey squirrel. Grey squirrel carry squirrel pox that kills reds and they outcompete the reds for food. Not to mention all the other animals they kill like song birds. All thanks to everyone’s favourite family the Rothschilds! Who brought the greys to England 100 plus years ago. They have a lot to answer for!!!! And not just invasive species!
Great video as usual. My heart did miss a beat as soon as I saw the safety came off. Love my WCS and Fenn traps. I rarely use Rodenticide (for rats) anymore and never used FGARS for squirrels.
Great videos guys, just one thing, the house was, nt rewired totally by the looks of it as red/black wire finished manys years ago now, new cable is now harmonised, ie brown and blue matching appliance flex.
I endorse the WCS tube trap 100%. I've screwed my tube to a larger board which I hold down with my foot while I'm setting the trap. It's much more stable and steady than trying to hold the tube steady while setting. Peanut butter is also my preferred bait. BTW, it also kills rats.
They truly are not for the faint hearted when it comes to setting the trap! 🤣 Good idea with the board. But then you need to unattach the board to get it into the places you want to get it. Swings and roundabouts I guess ☺️
@@PestInterceptors I only use mine in the back yard. I don't have a benevolent attitude toward squirrels ever since about 1954 when one bit through my fingernail. They may be cute little critters but not in my yard.

Hi I always watch your videos on UA-cam and are very interesting on best ways to catch rats just a quick question I have the wooden victor rat traps with the little brass trigger but for some reason it came off the trap and can't find it anywhere would you know where I can buy the trigger from thanks Chaz
I’m afraid that the rats of central England would just laugh if we used those old wooden traps here, so we don’t use them. I would think it would be as cheap to buy a new one as to fix the old one Charlie.
I don't want to sound like a dickhead but that mouse looks like a normal house mouse to me, how can you tell the difference from a field mouse? I'm only asking because I don't want to trap a protected species!

I have one of those tube traps. I find the trigger system hard to set to a sensitive position without it going off to soon. I also bait it with peanut butter, which unfortunately draws ants. I recenty went to a Canadian made trap by Piege Ouell. Model 411. Very, very powerful, easy to set and I just bait it with roasted peanuts in the shell. I use a whole hand full with a few right behind the trigger and a freeby out on front. Some walnut oil on the peanuts will really bring them in also. I got three squirrels the first day. ua-cam.com/video/EmxXVFyDids/v-deo.html
@PestInterceptors Yes...I saw your video review of the Trapinator. I like that DOC 150. I would have to build a box/tunnel for it though. I was concerned that trapping with the 150 could get bloody, seeing how it would just crush the squirrel's head. The 4 11 trap snaps the neck everytime for a nice, clean kill. Like the Trapinator, it will break your fingers if you were to ever get them in the way when triggered.
Why are you watching videos about why squirrels must be legally destroyed by law in the UK? Is it because you didn’t go to school and get an education? Because the way you write says you have some kind of issues or problems.

In some parts people call these rodents "tree rats". They aren't exactly wrong.
The damage greys do is truly devastating. Probably worse than rats!

It is inside the tunnel it comes with when set buddy.

It certainly could be a cheaper option than having it re-wired for a second time in a year!
So you can poison rats, but you can't poison squirrel rats or mice rats. You sure have some stupid laws.
