Good demonstration , I still have the VR760 and and it's a very good machine , adding the ventilator of neo instruments makes the organ sound more ' warm and powerful
Great playing Bob. I just picked one these up late last year. Bought the Ultimate keys card for it too. What a beast. You do it much more justice than I can, rock on mate!.
Appreciate your kind words Tony. I still have this board although live I regret I wimped out and bought a Roland VR-09 which is brilliant bang for your buck and with a bit of tweaking can produce some quite tasty organ patches etc. I still love the VR760 and was considering getting a SRX11 complete pianos card but don't want to pay over 200 quid for the privilege.
Bob (keys from MBC) I'm sure it's a great keyboard. I have a Yamaha Motif XF-8 for piano duties. With that, the duties of the VR-760 are fantastic for me :).
I was right on it when you muffed up "Great Gig" on the shift to Gm. :-) I heard the otherwise silent "aw, shit!" right through your playing. Nah, seriously, you put it through it through some nice paces here. I was surprised not to hear any ELP! Obviously you could emulate it well. Awhile back I thought of pairing one with a Blofeld and a 61-key workstation, Motif maybe. Right now an SY99 is my "piano" board but it's been having problems. I use a Yamaha MX61 as my mule, and a Kawai K5000 for synthetic stuff. I'm not more disposed to either piano or organ, that's why the VR-series with it's "qualifying" 76-keys and drawbars seems like such a great compromise for me. It fits right in with the progressive and classic rock & blues amalgam with ancient ethnic sprinklings which is me. ;-)
Mordecai Querty Thanks, Yes the Leslie can be controlled either by an external pedal, the pitch-bend wheel or the d-beam controller. The Leslie is surprisingly good for an old board.
Not deliberately so Berry but I love MacArthur Park and love Neal Morse! Its probably more attributable to the Pearl & Dean music at the movies! I used the riff in a song my old band Mother Black Cap did called "Living Laid Back"
What's the one on the bottom. It has a great piano sound. I was listening but not looking and thought it was the vr760 and when I heard that nice sound I came and looked and behold you were playing something else. What is that?
The bottom keyboard believe or not is just a Casio Privia PX200 which I bought used a few years ago for about £130. I agree the pianos are really good for a budget board and I still use it for live gigs as the VR760 has really awful acoustic pianos.
See, this is how an organ keyboard should be played. Those complex chord structures...moods and colors. Nice.
“not so great” my ass! You sounded great to me!

Great playing on a terrific keyboard.
The video shows that boards of this size and weight really need a solid stand.

Hi - great demo of two stupendous instruments. Can you control any of the Leslie effects via foot switches?
Mordecai Querty Thanks, Yes the Leslie can be controlled either by an external pedal, the pitch-bend wheel or the d-beam controller. The Leslie is surprisingly good for an old board.
Nice going! That was a bit of MacArthur Park in the version of Neal Morse, right?

Does this have weighted keys?
The VR760 is a non-weighted keyboard as it its primary function is as an organ and in that respect it has a great organ action imho.
Still great instrument ..
agree !!
