Sorry, this is not a good comparison. The Reverb on the Pa1000 is turned up much higher than on the PSR-S970. I almost think it's completly turned off on the PSR-S970. So if you want to compare the quality of both, switch it off on both instruments. Everything other than compare to the bare sounds, without DSP oder Rev, Choirs or anything else is not a real comparison.

Exactly. The best way to compare Korg and anything else on the market is to sum more than one channel at once, then you can hear how bad it is. Yamaha is also idiotic when it comes to editing limitations where Korg rules, but still their instruments sum and sound good.

It is hard to compare using a demo of such few sounds. But overall here the Korg is better, IMO.

I never thought that yamaha could ever compete side by side.
Simplicity? Not really. It sounds better than Korg of course, but when it comes to editing, Korg is much more powerful.

The editing/workstation capabilities in the Korg is why I prefer them. Sure, Yamahas are great for sound, but they aren't great as workstations. Korgs and Rolands offer better in terms of actually arranging and even sound design.
You must always have 2 machines! And Korg and Yamaha! This is the best option!

Korg Pa900 is no longer a current product. Both S970 and Pa1000 are current products with direct competition. There is no place to compare two products where one is no longer a current model for people to purchase.
A&C Hamilton Musical Instruments I'm saying - they are different generations. 2015 vs 2017. For example compare Intel CPU's from different years.
Correct; but at the moment, these are the two direct competitors in the market at this level. As mentioned in our previous comment, there's no place to spend time comparing two products where one is no longer available for purchase. Until Yamaha release a new keyboard in the PSR range, these are the two latest competitors, regardless of year of release.

Tenho um arranjador psrS970 e não gosto dos poucos pianos que ele tem.. Não há muito pra escolher.. Muito fraquinhos os pianos dele.. tanto os naturais como os EP. Eu tó atrás de uns samples de piano pra colocar nele.. Se alguém puder me disser onde posso achar samples do piano Yamaha Cp70 Dio e de outros pianos de boa qualidade, desde já fico muito agradecido..
Both sound great! Sorry, but I could not tell a difference, but I did think the PSR970 had more tone (not a good thing).

The guitars are a bit better in Yamaha “especially the Electric” - but the pianos & the rest Korg seemed slightly better ahead. It’s all about what you’re looking as an “All around” keyboard! Soo fars I’m impressed with this Korg1000, even though I’m a Yahama guy! Wanted to go with Genos but wayy too pricey.......

Please’ - Why not a “ Good” demo on the “ 1000” , of most “ solo sounds, + styles ‘- big band , orchestral , & others etc - as I own a”900” & a “Roland VR-09’ B”, top board , I really would like “ as others I’m sure ,- to make a comparison etc ‘ , AS YET there is nothing on net worth looking at on the “1000” , sorry to comment , but come on some’ one ‘ if you want to sell’ LETS hear IT , cheers to you ALL .

I think the sound of yamaha is little better and classic. If u listen carefully you will feel like a presence in a real concert but korg has only more power and didnt give me a special sense.thanks for ur videos.

Depend on the context.. I'm a band keyboardist and I've played Yamaha in a concert with my band playing rock music, and Yamaha sounds always drowned out even I couldn't hear my keyboard. The best sounds I've ever played in a band mix from my experience is *Roland*

What a joke from korg.. still not seperate fill buttons and cheap materials used for the design. Very very disapointing.
What interests you more the sound quality or the design? I assume that you care more about the sound, because you don't buy a keyboard just for how it looks or just for decoration.
Ruben Cln Materials also determine longevity and suitability for being packed up and moved around - potentially very important factors for someone splashing out.
I have a Yamaha PSR 3000 that’s still going strong after 15+ years. It’s been dropped, used to death - yet still sounds great if you use the instruments it’s best at.

Both sound relatively mediocre, still, this is just half of the story. Maybe they sound similar here, but when it comes to summing, and how they play multiple channels at once, Korg as always sound broken. I really do not understand what is wrong with their ears, how they do not hear that their instruments do not sound technically correct.
