    Thanks for the super informative review, Armin, and to Simsek Bows for their incredible work. I got a beautifully painted 2020 Hybrid+ in fall that’s just awesome. Draws up to 30“ (which is roughly 60#) super smoothly, then it gets a bit stiff (but maybe that’s me because 60# is already quite close to the max draw weight I can handle at the moment). Also their customer service is clearly the best I ever experienced with a bow maker.

    Armin, thank you for all the youtube reviews and lesson/tips that you do. Following your directions I have learned how to shoot a traditional bow, using Mediterranean, thumb release and Persian release methods. I took your advise and bought a Snake bow about 6 months ago and am doing well out to about 30 yrds. I think I am ready to move to a higher # bow, maybe 35-40 lbs. I am having trouble finding light enough arrows for the snake bow..... So, shooting beyond yrds is frustrating with the 500 grn arrows that I am using.
    Thanks again!

    Hey armin. I wanted to give some input on the 60° string angle theory. I am not a physicist or a bowyer, but i dont think measuring the angle between string and siyah matters. Imagine having a *tiny* non contact recurve on a 6 foot longbow, say 2 inches long. It could dramatically decrease the string angle, but the bow would shoot very similarly.
    I read in the traditional bowyers bible, volume one in the chapter on bow design and performance that the stacking effect of a bow is not dependant on the bow tip/ string angle. Instead, imagine drawing a triangle between bow handle, bow nock and arrow nock. The angle at the top (the one opposite the arrow) determines stack. The bigger the angle, the more stack you get.
    I would highly, highly recommend anyone to read that chapter in the bowyers bibles.

    • @Daylon91
      @Daylon91 2 роки тому

      The 60° angle is for "optimal" performance of the bow also when we push something with our bodies we naturally do it at a 60° angle. The 60° is not necessarily to avert stacking Manchurian bows have a 60° string angle to assist the most in throwing heavy arrows and NOTHING throws heavy arrow like the Manchu. A longbow has to be 40 ibs heavier to throw the same weight arrow the same speed as the Manchurian. Even some longbow bowyers know that making a bow draw over 60 isnt adding anything to the performance of the bow your just overdrawing the bow

    Hi Armin, I’m from the UK and love the Turkish/ Ottoman bows. In fact I love everything Ottoman:). Please can you advise which of the Turkish bows is the prettiest and smoothest and shoots arrows heavy and light the fastest and is weather resistant and is the best all round Turkish bow. If you can’t separate them then try the top 2 or 3 because this will greatly aid me in purchasing the best bow that I intend to last me a life time. Many thanks and kind regards.

    Is this all grand, no? You've got a green lawn, blue sky and a bow to worship without honoring He who made the bow or the day. Why do we do this? It's because we are fallen beings, separated from birth from God by our inherited sin in the garden, when Adam doubted God and did what his wife wanted thinking rules dont matter.
    Thus we all fell from then on. And now we have men showing off beautiful expensive bows without paying heed to the designer!
    But there is a remedy. In your heart. Say your sorry. Receive the free and awesome gift of salvation. ,Christs death burial ressurection. You can choose life or you can continue to dwell in sin and death. Celebrating yourself as a God in your garden till one day God claims your very soul in death and condemns it to eternity in Hell. Like that's forever!
