I am half chinese and half malay. I can speak chinese and malay and also english. Being in chinese school for 4 years was the most interesting experience although most of the teachers were strict. I just subscribe your channel because i really want to improve my mandarin as i have been not speaking mandarin for a long time. I only speak mandarin when I meet with my chinese family and my chinese friend. I feel really sad to not speaking mandarin continuosly and fluently. I hope by subscribing your channel I can slowly improve my mandarin. I love and more understand if the chinese speak a little bit slow and clearer.

Thank you for the interesting video. My paternal grandfather is Chinese. But it's a shame I can't speak Chinese. I'm trying to learn Mandarin now. Malaysia should only have one school system. Being Malaysian, everybody should know and master the national language, English language as the second language and Mandarin, Tamil, and Arabic could be offered as the third language. There could be other languages for the Borneo island. This way, each of us could at least have the proficiency in three languages and understand others of different ethnics better. Way to go for social inclusion.

I NEED MORE OF THIS VIDEOS. I'm learning mandarin rn but a very absolute beginner that I'm still hardly could form a sentence. So, this video of this malay woman really elevate my spirit even more! I want to be able to speak mandarin in everyday use, and fluently like she did!!!! Btw what a nice video, and subscribed!
*Really envy this malay woman uWu*
我很爱中文!< Sentence I could form so far, but that doesn't mean I could write it >< I wanna be fluent till one day I only speaks mandarin in my house and teach it to my children and pass it to grandchildren and moves down till generations so that they could speak both of the language malay and mandarin. But now im 19 and learning in UiTM and I hope there's mandarin subject I could join for free in the future. For now, still learning by myself and have no clue till when will I be able to speak it >< I'm always stuck with tones. Always forget each tone for each word.

So now I know she's from Kelantan,,,, WHAT? I'm from Kelantan too 😂 I'll definitely take on this challenge and HOPEFULLY will be able to achieve it in the future. Now, she could speak kelantan dialect, malay, english, mandarin, and JAPANESE, are you kidding me? Japanese is also one of my favourite language and I just learned the hiragana alphabet so far. Hm... She really had me thinking about myself.. I WANT TO BE LIKE HER SOOOOO BAD.

I hope all Chinese and Indian in Malaysia can speak in Malay language in their daily life. Because Malay is the most common language as well as the National language to communicate in Malaysia. We Malaysian should be able to speak very well in our language not others. For example, in U.S even they are African-american, Chinese, Indian, Black or White, they all communicate in their most common language which is English. Even with their same race. That is because they are American. I never heard they speak in african. Same goes to Japanese, Korean, Thailand, Indonesian, they speak in their national language. First time I heard two young ladies (looks like Chinese) speaking Malay between them in the LRT and then I ask them are they Malay? they said no, they're Chinese and Malaysian. I just like wow!! Deep inside I'm so touched and proud 👏👏

While learning Malay is definitely a duty for Malaysians, what language they choose to converse in should be up to them. the very reason countries like US have little to no language diversity is because while the country claims to be a melting pot of diverse cultures, it's all but a farce as the dominant culture simply assimilates the others. you'd be surprise to still find pockets of people of other races in the US actually converse in their own languages, especially in the case of Latino Americans, despite everyone knowing English.
& btw, it's inappropriate to include the likes of Japan & Korea in this, as they're homogeneous countries in the first place, so much so that being bilingual is already a definite edge. Malaysia is far more advanced in this regard.

    • @alohasnackbar3544

I am Iban. I speak Iban, Bahasa Melayu and English. Most people will get confused. Because I have mat salleh name, I can speak very fluent Bahasa Melayu (perfect) and I look like chinese (aunties call me leng zai). I only can speak and understand cantonese when it comes to ordering food. I forced myself to learn because Im just tired to explain I'm not chinese whenever i go to chinese shop.
