    Following childbirth, I noticed my hairfall but I stayed calm. I acted to remedy it. I opted for a health-centered approach.
    I prioritized my diet, eating nutrient-rich foods, specially rich in Folic Acid and Protein.
    I exercised daily and practiced yoga for stress control.
    I avoided styles that pull on my hair and stopped using heated hair tools to prevent hair stress.
    I even started applying LittleExtrra Coconion hair oil and shampoo combined with a wooden neem comb.
    The result was hair fall control and the return of my confidence.

    I have three kids and I only experienced post partum shedding after my last child. Of course at that time, I didn't even know such thing existed. I have fine, thin edges anyway so to experience the shedding was awful. But there was light at the tunnel and the shedding eventually stopped 🙌🏾

    • @KrystalLuvNhearts
      @KrystalLuvNhearts 7 років тому

      MsStacey717 hey! thats interesting you didnt experience shedding with your 1st two children and blessed too!!! do you have any idea why you didn't shed with the 1st two?

    • @msstacey777
      @msstacey777 7 років тому

      KrystalLuvNhearts I have no idea! After my first child, I had cut my hair so if I had shedding it could've been so minor that I didn't notice. With my second, I didn't cut my hair but like with the first, if I had shedding I didn't notice it because it was so minor. I continued my prenatal vitamins with those two pregnancies after giving birth, so maybe that helped. But with my last child, I noticed the excessive shedding a few week after giving birth and it freaked me out. I even went to the hair salon and got a couple of inches cut off thinking I was shedding because I needed a trim. I didn't continue my prenatal vitamins after my 3rd child, so maybe that contributed to the shedding.

    • @KrystalLuvNhearts
      @KrystalLuvNhearts 7 років тому +2

      MsStacey717 thats so interesting. i guess its different for everyone. with my first two i had really bad shedding and i was taking my prenatal vitamins. now im pregnant with my 3rd and im praying my edges will remain this time. i have worked sooooo hard trying to grow them back. edges are like priceless gold. it is truly to be cherished...smh

    • @His_ChristieRose
      @His_ChristieRose 7 років тому

      MsStacey717 Wow. I just had my third 3 months ago. I didn't have shedding with my first two as well. It JUST clicked today that it is postpartum shedding. I've never experienced it so I thought it was just shedding post protective styling. It was the loss of my edges that opened my eyes. I hope it ends soon.

    • @msstacey777
      @msstacey777 7 років тому

      Christie Rose the funny thing is I have super fine edges, always have and luckily I did not lose any of my edges. But I had shedding everywhere else, strands would just come out all day..I dreaded combing my hair because the comb would be full..hair would all over the bathroom floor 😩 I don't know if genetics contributes to this or not because none of my sisters had shedding and like I said I had it with my last child.

  • @tri0927

    The same thing happened to me with my second child seven years ago. That was the reason I went natural. I just allowed my body to do what it does best. Hence my first big chop. The chemical change after having my son and the bad epidural reaction it just sent my body in to over drive. I'm thankful nothing more came from it. My hair grew back kind a fast. I'm thankful that around that time a natural hair explosion of products was beginning. So I had a lot to choose from. At the end of the day for me that 's the joy of motherhood. I wouldn't change it for the world.

    Do some black tea rinses. They helped me out when I had my daughter. It will slow it down but the Dr. Miracle's nape and edge balm made my hair growth back in a month by the 3rd month my hair had completely recovered.

      Tea rinses stopped my shedding immediately. My shedding was in the crown and I was looking like Geoge Jefferson. I alternated between tea rinses and the egg/honey/olive oil treatments weekly for a month.
      Then I started taking hair and nail vitamins. Lastly, I wore (loosely) crochet braids as a protective style or a french braids under a wig for about six months.
      I also mist aloe vera juice on my hair daily.
      I'm still super careful with my crown. I wear crochets braids at my crown still, imitating the curlkalon pixie. Short version, tea rinses stopped my shedding after the first rinse. it's been 6 months and I only rinse every 1 or 2 months.

    Superhairfood shampoo definitely reduces the amount of hair I find in the sink after I wash my hair. Not only does it seem to slow the hair loss, it leaves it feeling both thicker and softer after I use it.

    My edges looked exactly like yours once my post-partum shedding died down. Now that my hair is growing back in, it's annoying dealing with the different lengths. I have to do small flat twists in the front to make my twist outs look decent. Plus my hair all over thinned out a lot! I can't wait for my hair to go back to normal.

    I don't have any kids and I watch a lot of videos on postpartum shedding and it just baffles me as to why these moms hair sheds. I asked my mom and grandma did their hair shed after their pregnancies and they both said no and thought I was crazy for asking the question. We all have never heard of postpartum shedding since now. It's weird , and makes you think is it something else affecting the shedding to where more and more women are experiencing it. 🤷🏽‍♀️ but I hope your hair grows back thicker and healthier ! And I hope the little one is doing well 🤗

    When I first saw you pull your hair back I cried!! I was like "Oh Jezus!! Other naturals suffered like me with the edges going!!" Everything you described with the shower and detangling isexactly how I felt. I was crying fo my hair because for me, I wasn't pregnant but was stressed out to th epoint chunks of hair wee falling out. I was so scared and traumatized that I tried not to detangle but then my hair was getting knoted up.
    It took so much energy to mentally admit to myself that it was my boyfriend the source of the stress and I wasnt talking to him about the problems I was having with him. Instead of speaking my mind, I kept silent to keep the peace but indirectly was causing myself to lose chunks of my hair. I finally told him about his foolishness and he does everythign he can now to lessen stess on me.
    So girl, thank you for sharing this because not only preganancy gets us, but stress is a huge killer!! Many prayers and love to you!!

    This reminds me of my first jerri curl when all my hair fell out. Right there in the shop they burned it out. 9th grade crying and picking my hair up off the floor. Lol! Scars of life. That beautiful baby was worth the hair, it will grow back. Blessings!

    My hair did the same thing. Except it was a little higher, more like the old man balding on the corners. And it happened about three months after each child. I wanted to cry. I missed wearing a ponytail during this process.

    Thank you sooo much for making this video! 4 months after my second child my doctor told me I had telogen effluvium. ( hair that is in the resting stage for an amount of time). I thought I was stressed as usual but to have a name to the problem was a relief! I started shedding hair like crazy even after detangling as you mentioned. I say all that to say thank you because you're the only other person I've come across with the same issue! Thank you! 💗

    I had this with my first child. that child snatched the shit out of these edges. I remember crying in the shower. and it didn't help that I lived in braids (etensions) so I was straight bald as an eagle. My next two children I wore a a loose bun until they were one. No shedding thank u JESUS

    The same thing happened to me!!! I had my baby in November 2016, I had my hair in braids because I didn't want to deal with it and a newborn. The braids weren't tight and I didn't leave it in a long time, but now my hair is shedding crazy and my edges look JUST LIKE YOURS! I was nervous about my hair just falling out and am happy to know that this too will come to an end. Please share with me the magic oil mixture because I'm scared mine will not grow back =(
    Again, THANK YOU for sharing!!

I had my baby in October last year but am still shedding but not much as beginning. it is natural and the hair will grow back so don't be in a hurry to try things. keep up with ur vitamins and eating healthy and the rest will fall in place.

    You're not alone. I had postpartum shedding w/both of my kids. What was frustrating was when hair dressers couldn't explain or help. I was told it was the epidural. (WRONG) It's all hormonal related. I had a relaxer and ended up doing a big chop. My hair grew back. (This was 10 yrs ago) Back then I used Dr. Miracle on my edges. Now I use Jamaican Castor Oil (Rosemary).

    I read about this (for my research) and there is a hormone that is secreted in the body during pregnancy that stops shedding. And then post-partum that hormone goes away. If you research how to prevent hair loss during post-partum the name of that hormone comes up. Apparently soaking your hair in fenugreek seeds soaked water will help and then rinsing it out and using an oil based hot oil treatment helps too. LOVE your videos. So many scary things about having a baby

    I know how you feel. my hair just now stopped shredding some much. it seems worst this time because I'm natural. when I was relaxed the hair fell out so it was all out the house. I went natural after that. this time the hair doesn't fall out so when I wash my hair, like you, my hair is coming out in clumps. the ball of hair you showed is what i saw each wash day. may cut my hair again. with 2 girls and the 5 year old has waist length hair, I don't have time to deal with mine. LOL. good luck with your baby.

    I have three boys and only experienced PPS after my last son. I didn't even realize it until one day I was looking at my edges and they were gone. I didn't do anything, they usually grow back on their own. I just made sure that I kept the peach fuzz moisturized and I didn't put tension on my edges. I didn't stress about it because I knew that it was natural and it happens.

    Postpartum hair loss is rough. Going through it now for a second time after my third baby. It hit me different with all my kids.
    It grows back but it takes time and it can be depressing. With my 2nd it lasted about 4 to 6m. The strangling process was hell but it comes with the territory of being a new mom.

      Brianna Alicia I can relate. My hair fell out after the birth of my daughters. It hasn’t helped that my fourth daughter just turned two and now I have four inches or so of new growth around my edges and throughout my hair. This makes the other parts look thin. I haven’t done anything to combat this or to speed up growth. I’m finally ready to do something but don’t know what to do.
