But what if you can prove that a certain methodology that is planned to be put into practice will pollute? Can you sue based in advance then?

And how on earth do you take a mega coporation to court when you are a nobody in comparison?
Regulations is how we codify law for coroporations and businesses.
It's necessary for a healthy country just as having laws are necessary for a healthy society!

How do you sue your neighbor that burns leaves all day and it enters your house? If you don't see smoke, they can just say there is no smoke, but it is there and it ruins your health.

I agree. Get rid of the epa and handle pollution in civil courts not in criminal court.

But how do you sue the government who contaminates water or air through negligence? Public Utilities would/should be held accountable to the Public…but how? PSB’s?? They can be corrupted too, seeking curry favor!! The cost litigate prevents the ligation! The courts or arbitration boards are overloaded now?

Get rid of "public" utilities. Have them privately owned. Problem solved.

Not sure what public utilities pollute..? The military pollutes but there have been settlements made in some of those cases. People can sue the government

@@folechno LOL, if you really cannot figure out that ordinary people suing mega-corporations with full teams of high-paid lawyers is no solution at all, especially in the absence of any regulation regarding allowable amounts of pollution, then I don't know what to tell you except that you are delusional. Rand never studied game theory, so I get her ignorance. But man, let's not follow in her footsteps. Get educated. Now, this is not to say that much, in fact I suspect most, regulations today are unnecessary and in fact harmful, but that's a long way from saying we don't need ANY regulations, especially on pollution.

@@KRGrunerIn a laissez-faire economy the amount of laws and loopholes (especially exceptions upon exceptions upon exceptions) would be greatly reduced in such a way that you can't buy yourself out of the courtroom.

@@KRGruner YOU are the delusional one here KRGruner. Many of the largest corporations in the world have been successfully sued and were made to pay out hundreds of millions of dollars to individuals and to groups. How can you seriously tell others they need to get educated on this issue when you make such an absurd statement?
Suing polluters is a much more efficient solution to the problem than allowing government to punish businesses and people BEFORE they pollute.

incorrect. owners of polluting factories are not willing to shut polluting doors at the expense of profit.

@@HMD2020 Who has the money to do that? On top you have to prove the pollution presumably scientifically! How do you do that? You'd need a whole college worth of experts working for you for like 5-10 years to achieve that.
