I enjoy the release from stress when I create cards or scrapbooks. To mentally escape from outside concerns is something I welcome. Of course, I also enjoy giving cards to friends & family.
Watching the replay. Card making is like a sport ….. you totally tune out the inner stress, and just relax by concentrating. After… you have a product with which to connect with someone else who doesn’t expect it. It brings us both smiles while connecting hearts
I love making cards and my friends really enjoy getting my cards. I have lots of supplies and now that my husband has passed away I spend my time making cards. I have lots of ideas from many cardmakers.
I have a card ministry at my church.I make cards weekly that are sent to those who are in need of kind thought, support, or encouragement. They are received with joy .I enjoy making the cards to reach out spreading. joy.
I had to catch todays replay and what fun. I love hearing and reading stories of how we got into card making. My sister got me into it in 1986 and now I have reintroduced her back into card making. I think one of my favorite parts of card making is playing with color. I love to play with color and color combinations not to mention that yes, I still color in coloring books. I look forward to tomorrows class and going up in my stamp room and playing with paper!!
Thanks, Karen & Holly for these three days of creating. I’m so excited! I started stamping a few years ago when I was invited to a Stampin Up party with a friend. We made one card & I was hooked!
I started scrapbooking about 20 years ago and making cards about 12 years ago. I want to be a blessing to someone who is going through a hard time in life! After experiencing the loss of my spouse and then a number of years later being on a cancer journey, I have received so many beautiful handmade cards and just want to pay all that goodness forward!
I found the need to be more creative when my mother died, and I was going through grief. Creating and Journaling really helped me recover from the grief. Definitely keeps my brain working. And sending cards brings happiness to others.
I used to teach how to make cards on the computer at the Senior Center. One of my students posted a link to Karen’s website. I was hooked. I have a balance issue, so going to a store to buy a card is difficult. This allows me to send greetings without going anywhere.😊
I am watching the replay :) I was my mother’s caretaker and needed something to distract me for an hour or so, to clear my mind a little during difficult times with her health until she passed away. So I started making cards and here I am! 2 years later I am still at it. ❤
Watching replay and catching up! Disappointed that zoom at was at capacity and couldn’t watch… but so glad that the responses were so great for Karen and Holly! An aunt sent my mom a little scrapbook filled with the family’s girl history. Full of apron and dress scraps. Then my Mom did baby books and simple scrapbooks!😂. Even my Dad kept scrapbooks These are treasure 🎉listen to Karen and Holly you will make so many memories and spread smiles❤
What sweet comments - and I love that your dad kept scrapbooks too. Did you see that we did a second zoom - we had no idea that we had a limit on attendees. Tech always gives us challenges so we struggle along the best we can!
My sister has been making beautiful cards for several years. When my husband passed away a year ago I was was struggling and felt so lonely. She talked me into trying my hand at card-making. I'm a novice and have so much to learn.
I love crafting of all kinds, but when I started making cards, I just loved the idea of being able to make someone's day by sending a card, a note, just letting them know they mean something to me. Considering sharing what I am learning and already know with others. I appreciate that Karen and so many others have done the same thing.
watching the replay. I'm always inspired by other's ideas, even tho I've been a lover of paper since I was a kid, and can't stop making cards to share joy!

Card making was a great relief frim a stressful job.
Watching the replay...I love creating and sharing cards with my family and friends. I made and sent 135 birthday cards this year. But I love sending happy mail most of all.
A friend introduced me to stamping and scrapbooking in early 2000. I scrapbooked for a while but then started making cards for our church. After I retired cardmaking became my pasttime and stress reliever.
I want to be more creative because I want to share and inspire more people and make people happy when I send cards to them. Also making cards helps my arthritis and my mood. It also helps me to meet other people.
Had a card demonstrator come and teach my 4-H girls back in the early 90's and I had been scrapbooking in high school oin the late 60's. Been hooked for many years and I also quilt so I think they work together with ideas and techniques. I love sending cards to my friends for the holidays and when they need a boost. I love doing the fun folds! Card is m therapy!
We lived in a small town. Lots of snow weekends. Once a month we would meet. I was working on a masters in education, and two young kids. Not to much extra time except those cards we did once a month. I would buy supplies and store for future use. This started about 2002. Fast forward 2010 husband had a stroke, and we moved to SLC, UT for help from my sister who was a PA in nursing. Lots of card making options as online and pinterest. I have really been excited to find you online. You have shown me easy ways to modify cards and creative. I like the collaboration. Keep up the great job showing and sharing. Connections are what we need in today's world.
Thank you for sharing your story! Looking at all the stages we go through in life - we never know what is ahead. Card making and the community around it can help in its own way.
Watching the replay. My Stampin journey was encouraged by a friend at a Christian family conference. I wanted to send some thank you notes as my husband and I had recently celebrated our silver wedding anniversary. That was 8 years ago now and I’m still making cards. My cards are often the same design as they are made in a hurry so it would be good to try something a little bit different. Lovely to hear your stories🥰
I started making cards with my kids many, many years ago because we wanted to send out get well cards and birthday cards. I loved learning more when Karen started with Stamping Up.
I am enjoying the replay and catching up on what I missed. I find crafting to be an excellent de-stresser. I enjoy being a card maker. Lolol, now if I can get just a touch better at being a card mailer! 😜
This "change" idea is so pertinent to getting beginners who say they don't know what to do, to start relying on their own ideas, and grow in creativity. TY!
I started making cards with my 2 sisters. Now our other sister gets together, and we all make cards. It's been many years since I started making cards. So, my line is, when you get trained by the best, you just do your best. It's very relaxing when I make cards.
I started acrapbooking my grandma's photos. My coworker at work asked me to to join her in a local club and learned more. I had been to a scrapbooking retreat and between the two demonstrators I was hooked
Karen, you have met my oldest sister, Dorothy. She came with Connie to your garage sale. I would like to meet you both. My sister mentioned you and Tim are down to earth people. Keep up the great work, Karen, and Tim.
I started stamping in 1996 also. My friend had a SU party and then I had a party. And that started it all. Now I have friends that I get together with and stamp. We have lots of fun!
Hello, my name is Linda, I have been a crafty person since I was. Teenager. As only child of older parents I had to find things to do myself, as there were not my kids to play with by me. So crayons was probably my first craft thing. But I also made things for my Barbies. But as I got older I got into sewing, and the last 10 years I have gotten into card making. I started collecting supplies from where ever I saw them. Garage sales, thrift stores. Just in the last several years have started getting better supplies. I love stampin up and a couple of others. Now it’s my stress from work, going into my craft room and creating. I need ideas to get some of my supplies used. I love to watch Tim and Karen!
My sister got me started. She had a stamping store in Traverse City, Mi. I have been stamping for 30 years. I made scrap books for my grandkids, liked it but card making is more my thing.
I am in Columbus, GA now and love it here. We have been here since 2006. I always loved putting photos in albums all my life. Those albums were very, very basic lacking journaling, etc. A lot of photos were dated and named on the backs of them, but not all of them. My husband’s niece got me into scrapbooking. She visited us and we found a local scrapbook shop which closed a few year’s later. One of the girls working there joined SU and started having classes in her home but dropped awhile after I joined SU. I joined SU as a demo more than 6 years ago. And from there it is history!
Being creative makes me a better person. I enjoy the process of card-making - instant gratification when something works well. And bringing a little bright spot to someone's day makes me even happier. The world has many negative aspects and if I can bring something positive to the world, why wouldn't I?
Watching replay. Had made cards off and on for several years, then my husband passed away 4 1/2 years ago and I began doing it again because it was therapeutic for me. Now a friend and I make cards for the shut-ins of our church.
I am a scrapbooker, and love working with paper. I did attend a SU session many, many years ago, and that had the opportunity to attend a class here in Lincoln and have been hooked ever since!
I like learning new ways to create a card, whether it's a fun fold, or a new way to use scraps - I just learning new ways to make cards, and to scrapbook! We learn from each other!
I started making cards about 25 years ago because i thought it would be cheaper. I have over 400 stamp sets and need to downsize. Im slowly using and getting rid of some well loved supplies. It feels so good
even after 30 yrs of making and teaching cards I learn so much from videos of today, Love looking at the cards my mother saved. I found these in a drawer while going through her things after her 3 months in Hopspice. Also found out my best friend has saved all my cards to her and she's shared my love of stamping with her friends in OK Being a subscriber of Paper Pumpkin, I like to take the original card layout and change to put my take on the kits
I enjoy the release from stress when I create cards or scrapbooks. To mentally escape from outside concerns is something I welcome. Of course, I also enjoy giving cards to friends & family.
I agree!
I’m so happy to have a hobby that provides me therapy and produces something that blesses others!

That is such a sweet ministry - it really is those little things in life and being thought of that can make such a big difference
I have so much scrapbooking and cardmaking supplies I need to use up, I enjoy making cards for others, and love to inspire others😊
It’s rewarding when people comment on how beautiful your cards are….makes one look for new ideas!!
I love that people appreciate the time I take to make something homemade for them.
I love the delight on faces of recipients when they see the creative fun folds, so I am always looking for more ideas.
I was invited to a friend’s house to make a card in the early 90’s and so it began! I’ve been stamping ever since!

Thank you for sharing! I think journaling is such a helpful practice too.

Isn't it hilarious to remember thinking this would be cheaper? lol

even after 30 yrs of making and teaching cards I learn so much from videos of today, Love looking at the cards my mother saved.
