    Braze it!

      I thought about it, but you gotta get it so hot it may weaken the stainless steel wire

      @IRONCLADRC Not for solder.
      Don't heat it until it's glowing. Just pre heat for a few seconds.
      The solder will liquify pretty easily with flame.
      If you have any trashed drive dogs and a scrap piece of that diameter stainless shaft, try a test piece 1st.
      But I don't think you'd take the temper out of the stainless, so long as you don't go crazy with the torch.
      Just an idea.
      And it may save you from having to service it again.

    Silver solder is the way to go IMHO

      That's what I was thinking. Or solder but silver solder would be best.

      @holgerlafrenz2895 if you order a propshaft that comes with a 1/4" flex cable already attached from say MHZ. What are they typically using? Always wondered what pre prepped bigger stuff comes attached with.

      Thought about it but the heat may weaken the stainless steel wire. I've brazen wire in the past and got it to hot and the wire bent.

      @@IRONCLADRC I wonder what the common practice is for the bigger 1/4 cables with the big people like MHZ or someone. When you order it assembled I'm not sure what they do. Just getting into boats after being into rc for over 20years. Got my first hull a 70" SV50 so still trying to learn before I build it up.

    You should look at the Bancroft jet power sprint boat a 25inch brushless jet boat

    hey big b, huge fan. wanted to get your opinion on prop size.
    running a custom built 30" hydro on a 4074 1700kv on 6s. weights about 9 pounds. 180a seaking esc.
    Currently running the pro boat 1.7 x 1.6 prop.
    boat goes plenty fast but it takes a minute to plane. what size prop do you suggest to get up on plane quicker, even if it sacrifices some top speed. Thanks so much!

    Had the same issue as well, I filled mine and was going to re drill the ID…I ended up buying a shaft from aliexpress and yet to run it due to the frustration of getting a boat that didn’t work out of the box

    Bummer - dropped my DX4C transmitter and now my boats get about 20 ft away and die! I have close to 15 receivers programmed into the transmitter. I found a used antenna and hoping that cures the problem. I have purchased a second transmitter but hoping the antenna does the trick. The waiting for deliveries is the toughest part.

      I'd go with the animal twin, I think you'll get more use from it and find the smaller size more fun.

    I don’t know B, dang if I wouldn’t set it up in the drill press and put hole through that collar and shaft and insert a pin. It would be tricky, very small bit, but at the price of props, I’d think it’s worth the hassle.

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  3 місяці тому

      Drilling a hole through this wire would be almost impossible IMO and may weaken the wire?

    • @artpeck9272
      @artpeck9272 3 місяці тому

      @@IRONCLADRC it could weaken the wire for sure. I’m just trying to think of some way to have some sort of retainer. I guess the best thing is to check it routinely. Looks like some heavy weather rolling through our area. We need the rain.
