Zoe a 2ft x 8ft piece of 3/4 in plywood screwed to the bottom of the log you can make all your top cuts to the pith then remove flip and repeat. 3 in screws should b log en0ugh to penetrate the bark for a good hold. Just don't forget about the screws

I think you could use some steel runners to be clamped to the frame to help stabilize stumps like that.

Yep, very professional.They certainly know what they are doing.
The short pieces are always a pain to clamp down . If you can leave a longer end on the crotch slabs it helps to clamp them .
You can always trim it off after they are milled .
I've never figured out why I'm fascinated with Wood working. The other thing that I've noticed that I seem to have cravings for Cake.
It is very important to know how to work your wood.

Those would make AWESOME end tables. You going to show what you do with them?
Is there any more aftermarket attachments. So you can put smaller logs on their or make them tighter. Than what you have now on the machine so it doesn't slip off.
There is a knack when you guys wing it but I prefer the edited ones. A small ornate table would be ideal as a gift for me mither.

I wonder why you dont make a clean cut on top first , then turn the log with the flat side down on some sticks , so it is stable , and then cut the rest from top 😉
