@ccrba we are having a fun meat rabbit show in Maine! It will be at the end of September for a memorial show for our president of Maine State who passed away this month. This will be held in conjunction with a double ARBA show- but this Pound for Pound Challenge is a non- ARBA show for non- pedigree, meat mutt rabbits. Entry fee is 2.00 per rabbit and the proceeds goes to a youth scholarship. Would love to have you come up to Maine in September!
Another good video. Just got into rabbits and your videos have been very helpful. One of my does had a litter on Easter and the other is due later this week. Looking forward to any content you put out.
Hey thanks for making these videos! I'm new to meat rabbits and it's all very helpful :) Did you already make the more detailed video on how to cut their nails? I haven't been able to find it. Thanks again!
Thanks! I haven't yet because its a two man job! I'm trying to get someone to be my cameraman so they can zoom in when I'm showing how to do it. Should be out soon.
I raise New Zealands, but they are similar. The goal is five pounds at 8 weeks, but that's hard to achieve unless you are using hybrids in a commercial context. Typically I'm happy with five pounds at 10 weeks, although I can usually beat that.

What was the ear mite cream you used ?
My feed store carries Performer Brand Ear Mite Killer Lotion 6oz.
Question how much do your Californian rabbits weigh 8-9 weeks?
I raise New Zealands, but they are similar. The goal is five pounds at 8 weeks, but that's hard to achieve unless you are using hybrids in a commercial context. Typically I'm happy with five pounds at 10 weeks, although I can usually beat that.
How short do you trim the nails?
As short as I can without hurting them, which is usually where the nail gets dark. I am making a video explaining how to do it in detail.
@@westmeadowrabbits Ok i got ya. thx
Hey I got another question. My first litter hit 1 pound at 4 weeks old is this decent? Been wondering.
Whats the breed, I don't usually weigh them that young, but growth really starts to pick up around then.
@@westmeadowrabbits New Zealand with a tad of flemish possibly.
@@rooster5392 Sounds normal for their age.
