can you start with bigger plants? 4" potted plants would have to remove soil from its pot and somehow fit into the frame??? could this work?

Hi so sorry to bug you but I am not able to grow and type of aloe Vera or jade and I have tried everything people has suggested lot light less light less water more water I am at a loss what am I do wrong. I do not even come home and re-pot them I want to grow them so bad but how when its like there scared of me. I truly do not know what to do. and suggestions?
