It is sad that this is their life and they continue to walk that path. Some even get out, but still live that life and end up dead.
I have never been affiliated with any gangs, but I lived in the streets for years. Continuing to get in trouble, getting arrested and convicted in 4 states all in between NY and NC. If you don’t stop and make changes, the life will catch up with you.
Although my life and convictions have nothing to do with gangs, any street life can take everything away from you. I had to get out while I could after 10 long years rippin and running. I’ll never forget my mom and stepdad told me, “The next step is to plan your funeral because we are just waiting for that call”.
Staring at death or life in prison after all those years is what made me stop and think. One day, I woke up and said to myself, “I can’t do this anymore. I am going to die.”
Years later, I finally have built something. I hope and pray these individuals do to. They are capable of so much, but they are stuck.
