Let’s be honest. We only turned on him when he didn’t put in the effort. I hate when fans watch someone’s goal reel and then starts feeling sorry for them and having a pop at fans, have a day off! I’m a season ticket holder and week after week he would turn up play 90mins and not do anything, wouldn’t run for the boy would just fall over and ask for a foul. On his day he is unplayable and I love him but let’s not pretend he has always given everything because if you think that you’re a fool!

His one of the hardest working players we have had, but he has a few off games and everyone turns. His 34 and playing week In week out with an energy sapping style. He should be rotated but we don't have anyone that can do what he does. Saw the same with noble and it's sad.

I agree on his day he is brilliant and hard working but he didn’t just have the off game he had tonnes of games where he didn’t perform. I remember watching him once at home and he literally played 90mins and he couldn’t be bothered and you could tell he knew we didn’t have options on the bench so wouldn’t get dropped. He goes through stages where he plays really well but he has never been consistent for us. You mentioned Noble but I completely disagree, they are so different. Noble had the heart of a lion but wasn’t the greatest footballer in the world, like he was never as good as a Declan rice for example but he wanted it nearly every game, Antonio on the other hand is unplayable on his day, no defenders can handle him but it’s all about when he wants to turn up and unfortunately for West Ham he didn’t always want to. I like him though mate don’t get me wrong but I just know that the stick he used to get was 100% justified 👍🏻
