    here's a little tip for you guys if you guys get a vacuum chamber and then put the duration of the epoxy resin in it it will remove the bubbles out from the project that you have leaving it crystal clear

    • @derekwhite1007
      @derekwhite1007 3 роки тому +1

      A pressure pot is easier to do. It pressurises the bubbles into nothingness. With a vacuum chamber you have to sit and watch it so it doesn't bubble over, releasing the vacuum or getting it to sit at just the right suction. And you'll need an epoxy with a longer open time.

The fact he read books from a library and didn't simply Google the info like most would today gave me a chuckle but to go onto becoming as good as he is just shows he learned from a couple good builders who are most likely old timers

  • @miss5239
    @miss5239 3 роки тому +5

    1. Poly resin smells horrendous & is usually not the resin you need.
    2. You still need to wear a respirator & gloves when working with any resin really.
    3. Those examples of flowers in resin were really bad. They were cloudy & had a ton of bubbles.
    4. Resin isn't as easy as it's made out. Takes quite a while to get perfect. Also, with it being very toxic, it's not something to be taken lightly.
    5. I've never heard of anyone putting resin pieces in the freezer?! It's not something you need to do at all.
    6. I've never heard of anyone using a paperclip to remove bubbles?!
    7. Not all resins are 1 part resin to 1 part hardener.
    8. You can't put "just about anything" in resin. A lot of the things you can put in resin need treating first. Such as drying out or sealing.
    9. I wouldn't recommend it as a hobby for just about anyone. When working with resin, you're working with chemicals & causing a chemical reaction. You can be seriously hurt when working with resin. Not just short term but in the long run, if used incorrectly & without the correct protection.
    10. If you're thinking of trying your hand at resin work. Please do some serious research. Do not go off videos like this one. I would happily help with advice
