John Denver is the reason I learned guitar when I was a child. I used to play this song at the Fort Worth Water Gardens. His songs , his music helped me survive.

I saw this wonderful man/artist/musician in Colorado, three times. Each concert was so beautiful and fun. I still love this man, and miss him terribly. All of his music moved my heart and soul.
    RIP John Denver.

On a video about the Walker Space probe they were talking about how it literally touched the sun.
I commented, "They say he got crazy once and tried to touch the sun. He lost a friend but kept the memory. Now he walks in quiet solitude because in space no one can hear you scream."

There is an episode where John Denver is guest hosting the JC show and interviews Carl Sagan in 1977.
They talk about the Voyage Probe and JD mentions that the probe included a record with samples of music form around the world, but they didn't include any of Denver's song.
Carl Sagan comes back with, "Well, we wanted to include only the best."
John Denver was a great singer though, even if his music wasn't the best in Sagan's opinion.

      WTH⁉️😵‍💫🤨
MORE people know of John Denver, his music, work to stop world hunger, AND many other philanthropic endeavors!
BTW, John was instrumental in starting NASA’s civilian astronaut program❣️
I dk about the validity of this…but for years, I’ve read NH school teacher) Christa McAuliffe took John’s place on the 1986 doomed Challenger space shuttle‼️😳🥺

Well, Carl Sagan was pretty narcissistic, so it doesn't surprise me to hear that. Back in those days (Lord am I old, lol) John's music was popular but many east coast people thought he was too hippie/folk and weren't aware of his philanthropic works. He kept them pretty low key.

    • @erictaylor5462
      @erictaylor5462 10 місяців тому

@@arnikalm Indeed. I was alive back then myself.
I well remember the days before the internet.
I was 13 when the first movie to feature the internet came out.
It was so early there are some who say that what you see in the movie was nit the internet, and that is sort of true, but it featured what became the internet.
It was a movie about a kid who nearly started WWIII just because he didn't want to play a nice game of chess.
If you're my age (or older), I have given you all the clues you need to know what movie I'm talking about.

The music industry and their, "Well, we really don't think you should do this song or that song", BS.
Hows bout y'all sthu, and get out of the way. Let artists release their art, and the people decide.
Hard topics & hard times, all have stories that need to be told. Whether people find discomfort in them or not.
John Denver was a GREAT storyteller. And a funny man, to boot.

It's always struck me how little class Carson had and such little respect for his guests he had when he didn't stand up to greet them.
