Yes. It has to dry and form the curls before you wrap.

For me, since it's braiding hair and it's very silky, I prefer for it to be curled to give the butterfly effect.

I braided my hair in the night then did the locs the next morning but in total it took me about 7 hours to complete it

Hi Pearl. I used the "ez braid- pre streched" braiding hair. I think it was 26 inches.
