  • Considering plastic surgery in Turkey?
Plastic surgery performed abroad or in countries like Turkey can be risky due to several factors, such as:
    - Lack of regulation: Some countries may have less stringent regulations for medical procedures, leading to a higher risk of malpractice and poor outcomes.
    - Language barriers: Communication between the patient and the surgeon may be hindered by language differences, making it difficult to clearly understand the procedure and potential risks involved.
    - Quality of care: The quality of care and facilities may not be up to the same standards as those in developed countries, increasing the risk of complications during and after surgery.
    - Distance from home: Patients who have surgery abroad may face difficulties seeking follow-up care or treatment for complications if they are far from home.
    - Insurance issues: Patients may not be covered by their insurance for medical treatment abroad, making it difficult to receive compensation for any adverse outcomes.
    - Cost: While surgery abroad may seem cheaper, the cost of additional treatments or corrective procedures for complications can quickly add up.
It's important to carefully consider all of these factors before undergoing plastic surgery abroad or in countries like Turkey.

I have had a number of procedures done now on my teeth, nose and breast lift and reduction in Turkey. Of course you do have to do the full due diligence in research associated with finding the right surgeons, (whichever country they are in,) as you are right, its not all about the money. I only went outside the UK because the follow-up surgeries I suffered due to a top Harley Street doctor's botched procedure on my nose (which led to 5 subsequent operations following his, in the UK i might add.) I found a brilliant doctor in Istanbul who helped me to breath again properly! So you can get bad doctors in any country, it really does depend on the level of research, indepth due diligence and perhaps a bit of luck as to who you finally end up going with I suppose. As I said, I have had 3 procedures now done in Turkey. I am very happy with all my results, that sorted out the problems that the UK doctors caused for me in the first place. And I also paid through the nose (no pun intended) with doctors in the UK. It was put across to me by many friends and quite a few professionals alike, that they thought I was crazy to be considering going to Turkey for any procedures. So in my case, I think I am very grateful to have found the right doctors (who happened to be in Turkey) and unfortunate with the doctors here in the UK that created all my initial problems.
Of course, it does make the pot sweeter that the cost was no where near as expensive as in the UK or USA (at that time, as I don't know what they charge in Turkey now for the procedures I had done,) however, I am pretty sure they are still not as ridiculously expensive as countries like the UK and USA. This is of course, just my honest humble opinion. I think Turkey and other 'cheaper' countries in Europe do have their fare share of horror stories, but you don't seem to hear about the successful ones do you??? This is why I felt duty bound to redress the balance somewhat. Please do, do your due diligence when looking for the right doctors. looking at their qualifications, materials used, experience in the particular procedure you want to have done, as there are good and bad doctors everywhere! In fact, I would also suggest you ask the particular doctor in Turkey, to let you speak to clients whom he has treated from your country, (or others) who have also had the same procedure you plan to do, as long as he gets their permission. My doctors sent me the contacts of a couple of ex-patients in the UK who were willing to talk with me before I decided to use that particular doctor.
Good luck with whichever country you decide to go with, :)

Very good and informative advice, I must say. At the moment, I am in Antayla Turkey, recovering from a breast augmentation. I did my research bith in London and in Turkey. I just happened to stumbled across my surgeon. I rang him up and I was very impressed with his level of English. I read his bio, and his reviews are excellent. I went for the consultation with the expectation of having 300 /350cc.
He examined my breasts and told me that I could only have 270 and 250cc because I am petite 5 3 and weighing 72kg.
He explained to me that if I go for anything bigger, then I may develop problems, etc.
He also explained that he would not go under the muscle, and I've got lots of breast tissues to cover the implants.
Today, I am 3 days post-op, and I never felt any pain apart from a bit of discomfort sometimes.
I stayed overnight at the hospital, and I have my 1 week check-up to do. I will be staying here for an extra week before flying back to London.
To be honest, I am not 100% happy with the 270cc, but it is best to listen to the experts and take their advice.
I have been doing research for many years, and I've had 9 consultations in London, but none of the surgeons mentioned to me that the footprint of my breast is too small for 300cc.
I am sure I will start to love my new boobs later on when they settle down. I will definitely be a C cup.
It is better to be small than to be putting a big implant into a small pocket.
I didn't need any interpreter because my surgeon speaks English, French, and Turkish.
I don't feel like I recently had surgery done. I pray that things will settle down soon without any complications.
There are good and bad doctors everywhere, not just Turkey.
In 2018, in London, I paid £6500 to have 3 implants and 2 crowns done, and the dentist made the right mess with the job. When I went back to get it corrected, the clinic went into administration.
They ripped everyone off and gone without a trace. I had to come to Turkey and have the job done all over again.
Now I have the PERFECT SMILE. No one can say that I had my teeth done because they look so natural.

@jedidahbintidaudi8241 His name is Dr. Seckin Oksar in Antayla Turkey. He is a board certified plastic surgeon. I am now back in London, and today I am now 9 days post-op.
The only thing that I am feeling now is a bit of discomfort because the nerves are knitting back together under my boobs.
The swelling has gone down, even though I didn't have lots of swellings.
I can honestly say that this surgeon hands are very gentle and soft.
I would advise you to Google him and read his bio. I have experienced his work, even though it is still early, but from what I can see that it will be a very good outcome. Please let me know what you think about him.

It's not about how much you spend. It's about choosing the right doctor for the procedure you want, and ensuring that they have the necessary qualifications, competence and experience for the procedure you're looking to have done. It's also safer to have your procedure in a licensed hospital than a Clinic as they are better placed to cope with an emergency. All surgeries carry a risk, whether you pay $50000 or $2000.

Currently researching, I would prefer to have it done in Australia, but honestly the cost is the biggest hurdle... if you had comparitive costs... not a problem, as we ladies age, we have to deal with so much, and one thing that helps is looking fresh and not haggard as we lose our hormones..... and that means surgery... if that could be a cheaper option here, then by all means... but until then, overseas is a better option... but 1000% agree, reasearch, research, research... that's why i'm spending the next few months looking to Turkey as opposed to Thailand... even visiting before making any decisions....

Hi same here looking for a plastic surgeon or a tummy tuck specialist for my mother love her and want her to feel the best of herself so was hoping if you any could share any details of any surgeon here in Australia coz realistically speaking the accommodation costs all the way to to Turkey wouldn’t make much of a difference.

Forgot about surgery, I went the most expensive dentists to fix a simple teeth problem, they couldn't even do that; I spent money at 3 different dentist. Their work lasted between 3 days and 1 week. At the and flew to Turkiye. I said to myself, even if they charge more, I want this tooth fixed. It was the fraction of the money and still strong as 8 years ago when the dentist fixed in Turkiye. I asked the dentist how come even 1 dentist couldn't fix in Australia. She said either they didn't want to spend the time on it ( I believe this was the case, as 3 of them tried to sell implants to me which was $7500 then when it was $2000 in Turkiye) or not trained well ( I thought how they get a diploma even couldn't fix a simple tooth problem)

Google check and also make sure they have the certificate for medical tourism from the government, as well as registered with the Plastic Surgery Association of Turkiye . Check they have names Operatör Doktor or Profösör Doktor and registered.

That's not true. Where do you get that people don't research their doctors in another country? Your own bias of wanting to keep money.in your office?

  • @tesekkur

"In Australia but not in overseas!!" That's why some doctors disfigured patients longer than 20 years though many complaints were done to related goverment bodies about these well known doctors. Not only disfigured patients but hygiene standards well below acceptable. Probably Indian hospitals and doctors( well know by the world the least hygiene) have better standards. I have seen many breast argumentations done in Australia with severe scars left as well as 1 breast sitting well below the other. Even from 10 meters away can be seen. You are bitter losing money because people go to Thailand and Türkiye for dental work, plastic surgery and hair implant. They go not only because cheaper but much better service, better outcomes, more happy people with their surgery. I have a friend she spent $70000 in Turkiye. She looks absolutely amazing. Of course there would be some dodgy, not known doctors people not doing good research falling a victim in hands of these doctors in Thailand and Turkiye. Comparing to Australia, this happening is too small. The reason is the government body acts, listens complaints. In Australia don't. Even most skin creams sold in Australia do not contain the active ingredients claimed to contain in ingredients list. The reason is the government body responsible for checking , scanning these skin creams didn't nearly in 20 years. Scams aren't punished in Australia or the USA , Kardashian scams are an example. Unless a bank or company has been scammed, the government body doesn't move its finger. In Australia and the USA, business means right to scam.
