Well, i want my studio rescued for the mic.
They are obviously adds for Rode Microphones but that definitely doesn't take away anything from how much he's helping out these home-producers.
looks like some people doesnt even make a little bit of a research of how a producting setup should be set up ... I mean ... look where that guy had his speakers -.-
ja hu yeah man. These rescue videos completely look like they're pre planned, which obviously they are. I mean c'mon a person who has quality monitors n a Jackson guitar(seemed like the marty Friedman model) wont even watch videos on UA-cam on how to place his speakers n the thing that was really dumb is that if this guy was really in need of space he would've rearranged his bed a long time ago
Yeah, first thing that came to my mind is this must be set up. Regardless of budget nobody who takes music production seriously has that much lack of knowledge to be having that kind of setup

His speakers are too big for the room size. Francis never says anything about speaker size.

Yeah it does feel awkward and there is a hell of a lot of hand shaking going on. About five in this episode.
HA! although I did buy that mic.. I presented it to myself after rescuing my bottle of scotch. It is a great mic for the price.

He never seems to add any treatments to the rear of the monitors. Made a big difference to my sound. :o)
still there are so many other more important places and he probably doesnt have a truckload of these panels to give out
I wonder why Francis did not treat this room in the same way as some of the other rescues in his series. He only gave this guy one panel on the left, but what happened to the reflections on the right, on the door, and the corner bass traps too? What's Up with that???

I'm curious for the rescued's response to the new setups. like "oh it's working great! I can hear lot's of low end now! This sounds so much freaking better! etc." rather than "I think you've been rescued" *shake hands*. No offence, it's just common sense in story telling, there should always be a result.

The whole purpose of Francis rescuing studios is to symmetrically balance the room so that it's efficient as a home recording studio while salvaging and even adding more space. The guy even said himself he has enough room for a chair for his workstation.
should have put some of that foam on the door and ceiling as well and some bass traps in the back corners.. will really help

It's funny, the white box on the left of the screen before they do anything is the power supply for the rode ntk, their high end mic, and you give him their cheap mic.

A major problem here is the fact that his monitors port through the back, not the front. So He is going to get some sonic disruption unless he soundproofs behind his desk. Hell, I have speakers that port through the front and I have the space behind my monitors bass trapped
What can you do to a room that isn't symmetrical? My studio has a closet that makes it un-rectangular. My room is shaped just like the state of Utah and my desk is against the wall that would boarder Colorado. What do I do there?
I agree. I mean, they use the same kind of scheme for these videos, there is not too much thoughts put into them, but if you take these things aside, I think you can still use these videos as a source of guidelines to get your own homestudio going better. I certainly will move my stuff, I already bought some acoustic-foampanels and we'll see how it will turn out!
It seems like they're more about educating the dudes and having them learn hands on rather than just "Surprise we pimped your janky room!"
The save the studio concept is awesome. I would watch that on tv. Would be nice to see different types of rooms and and tour pro studios. And Change the gifts lol. We all know what he is getting what he leaves lol.
I noticed the kid had hard wood floors. And in all the other rescues. There is supposed to be a pad on the ceiling. Also I noticed he did not triangulate the speaker with the tape measure after adjusting the speakers the 2nd time. With the bed so close to the chair with the speakers at that angle he would of had to of moved the speakers outward 3" + to make the triangle perfect to his ears. So that was conveniently left out. LOL I also wonder why he didn't put those pads to the left of the desk right up next to the window. He moved them farther away from the window instead. I think the kid got his room cleaned, and new microphone. I think he should of moved that bed completely against the back wall, and got some studio monitor stands. And more pads.

Well, I've watched the first 4 episodes. I wonder what they'll do to rescue THIS one! Ergghhhh! The suspense is killing me! :P
and what happened with the simetrical distance on the sides of the speakers? now the right speaker is reflecting into the shelves and the left one has a much longer distance to reflect on the wall
i know that this video isnt the best example but this guy is ridiculously good at making space where there is allmost none to be found and he is allso very good at organizing
my guess is that he is educated in that field rather than in room accoustics. or both perhaps
i thought i would see some studio upgrades from scratch in these episodes, and maybe learn some stuff about studio gear, they could at least give away some mid priced monitors to some guys cuz most of them use low end monitors...
so far, the 4 or 5 episodes of this i have watched, are all "let's center your shit, give you some acoustic panels, and a mic. later bro."

I realize these videos are quite old but can someone please explain to me WHY IS THERE NOTHING DECOUPLING THE MONITORS FROM THE SURFACE THEY SIT ON!!!! I mean come on thats like monitor placement basics. Come on rode you're better than that.

I enjoy these videos, but it’s funny reading some of the comments, ppl know so much🙄why not just say this is a good idea, it’s like a reality make over show for your studio, I just learned of this channel yesterday, and I love it😊we need to stop being so critical, it’s just another way of being jealous🤨haters!! This is a dope channel for ppl to learn, that’s what it’s about, so get outa here with the negative comments, and do something better if you can🙋🏾♂️

All these guys in these episodes (the ones I've seen) have their "studio" in a bedroom?? First of all its gotta smell a bit like DUDE. It should be called bedroom/some recording equipment rescue. I do like Francis though.. so I guess I watch.

A lot of people don't have the resources/sense so the bedroom is the most common area. Then if you watch enough of these videos, its more about product placement and advertising. Lol.
Yes indeed. One could also use the free RODE mic to record bedroom happenings and special events. Pad the mic in my bedroom. Hahahahaha.

next time when you take the table apart, REMOVE those dynaudio as far as possible from there.
All they need is someone to clean up their room.

this is a proper home studio cramped and a bit crappy.
He had a door on the right. This guy biggest problem is all the stuff that he had on bedroom.

Most of these guys are completely missing the basics. With some researching and common sense you can do this yourself.
