    From Borneo where I use Gliricidia as support tudours fo Vanilla support. Taking branches an inch or more in thickness wounding the bottom ten inches with verical knife cuts. Branches are then struck on site were needed, simply just pushed into the soil to a depth of eight inches or so. Done in the rainy season with 80% + success rate.

    How do we make wood chips for the compost?
    And what’s the ratio of the wood chips, coffee ground and cow dung?

      You will need a wood chipper. I am going to make a video all about this compost soon. Stay tuned!

      They grow well from seeds with high germination rate and strong root systems. Its really the best way to propagate gliricidia. Take a few weeks for them to sprout, just cover lightly with soil. No need for any pretreatment of the seeds.

      @@EatAndBeEatenHAWAIIdo they need to stay perfectly moist? Or can they handle some dryness after the initial watering?

    So when I chop and drop around my fruit trees do I need to pull back my P. peanut that I use as ground cover or can I just pile up the Gliricidia cuttings on top of the peanut? Great tips here for me thanks..

      If you already have a carpet of peanut going then it should be fine

    Hello sir, I bought a gliricidia stick 6 months ago, planted in a pot and it is 8ft tall. I have to bring it indoors within a month because it will get cold and freeze in my area. How can I cut the top without damaging the tree?

    • @EatAndBeEatenHAWAII
      @EatAndBeEatenHAWAII  Рік тому

      You can cut them and they will grow back vigorously. Likely need to transplant outside at some point.

      @@EatAndBeEatenHAWAII Thank you for your fast response. Exactly where and how much can I cut it? I can not leave it outside, we have winters of 10 to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. Will it die in the pot eventually?

    • @EatAndBeEatenHAWAII
      @EatAndBeEatenHAWAII  Рік тому

      Cut it diagonal on the branches close to the trunk. For every branch you cut multiple green shoots will emerge. Not sure how it will go long term in the pot. @@elizabethmirandes2430

      I am sorry to bother you again but I think I miscommunicated where do I need to cut it, I have to cut it on the top, and I need to cap the height at no more than 6ft.@@EatAndBeEatenHAWAII

      @elizabethmirandes2430 no problem, you can cut it at any branches near to the trunk. It is a very hardy plant.
