“But then Bruce Lee came along and changed the paradigm entirely. You gotta be strong. You gotta be agile. You gotta be quick. You gotta be smart. And that’s what’s gonna win. It’s not just brute force. And THAT is the Himalayan for you.” - Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director, Royal Enfield

There was a time I used to get mad at RE fanboys for buying the sub quality products . But now seeing the MD owning to quality issues and understanding the sentiment if the ppl makes me believe that the company is in good hands & this company deserves a chance to prove their metal … from not being much of a RE fan boy to discovering the Fan boy moment !! Hope they knock the quality issues out of the park and this becomes the best motorcycle brand in the world

Very nice interview, I love the enthusiasm. 👍 It used to be that all motorcycle manufacturers had company executives that were riders first, and businessmen second. Today this has changed, the passion has gone from many motorcycle brands and it is only about profit. Riders want more than this and I think Royal Enfield delivers. This is why I am on my second Royal Enfield. First I was on a 350 Classic Reborn in Thailand, and now I ride a 2023 Himalayan that I rode back to Mexico after buying it in the US. I traveled over 4,000 miles in roughly 21 days on the Himalayan, and it never missed a beat, a testament to RE reliability. You make amazing bikes, keep it up.

Siddhartha Lal's statement reflects a shift in perspective within the world of motorcycling, particularly with the introduction of the Royal Enfield Himalayan. Traditionally, motorcycles were often associated with sheer power and force, emphasizing a robust, brawny image. However, Lal suggests that the paradigm has changed, drawing a parallel with the legendary Bruce Lee.
The emphasis on strength, agility, quickness, and intelligence, rather than just brute force, indicates a more nuanced approach to designing motorcycles. This philosophy aligns with the characteristics required for successful adventure touring, where riders face diverse terrains and challenges. The mention of the Himalayan in this context reinforces the idea that this motorcycle is designed not just for the conventional roads but for a variety of terrains, capturing the essence of adventure touring.
The podcast seems to offer an intriguing exploration into the making of the Royal Enfield Himalayan, presenting it as a machine inspired by a connection with the mighty mountains. Lal's statement sets the tone for the podcast, suggesting that the Himalayan is more than just a motorcycle; it's a symbol of a new era in motorcycling that values a combination of physical and mental attributes.

For myself, brother, it was the Throttle position sensor that required adjustment for stalling.

The bike looks absolutely awesome. As i have seen a lot of video's about this model already, and yes, also Itchy Boots own test ride with about 4200 km on the bike, i must say, this is the one i want.
But oh horror, yes, the nightmare for adv bikes are the electronics.
As for me, give me a Mahindra Jeep above a Land Rover.
Electronics suck. Those are good for fat rich custom cruiser riders, or sport car's millionaires.
A common peasant has to repair as much as possible all by himself.
So why, oh why, this ride by wire thingy?
Give the cable throttle option, please.
