    1969 Plymouth GTX 5609
    Vin: RS23L9A275609
Check out this 1969 Plymouth GTX hard top coupe! Isn't it sweet? This is one of the 14,902 GTXs that were produced in 1969. After the rotisserie restoration that this baby underwent it is ready to put some rubber on the road and start stealing some more hearts. The two black stripes up the sides of the hood of this blue GTX look amazing, and if you look close you can find little details with red in them that make the blue pop out even more. Even more cool, the engine bay, under carriage, and the trunk are all detailed. Having an Air Grabber hood on the front of this car really bring out the better features of this car. Making all the noise under the hood of this GTX is a 440ci V8 pushing about 375 horse power connected to a 3- speed automatic A727 torqueflite transmission. 2023: I bought a 1969 GTX from the original owner when it was one and one half years old. Wish I still had it. All options. Great Car. Love the sound of a 4 barrel 440.

I bought one that looked like this one. Bought it in 1972 for $1000.00. Stamping on engine said 425 hp. 4 speed. Never lost a race.

My two best stories of finding crazy steals involved a 1969 GTX.
I happened upon a ‘69 GTX that was painted Plum Crazy Purple and the guys wife hated the color and it was “too loud and bumpy riding”, LOL. These were executive type folks through and through and as I said, it was an impulse purchase. He bought it on a whim because someone he knew was going through a divorce and wanted to just dump it. So I was owner number 3. I was at his house doing some work on his out building in a very out of the ordinary job circumstance when he said he too just wanted to get rid of it since like the previous owner it was an impulse buy and never drove it. When I asked how much he wanted it and I might be interested, I DEFINITELY didn’t show any enthusiasm when he said, “The wife never stops about hating this thing so give me the $3500 I paid and it’s yours. Just get it out of here.” I almost pooped in my pants, lol. “I can probably get it out of here today for you if you don’t mind me finishing the work here tomorrow morning first thing.” Him, “That would be great!! No problem!!” and the guy actually thanked me, LMAO!!! I couldn’t get that thing out of there fast enough and I had a trusted friend with a flat bed he used for moving forklifts come and grab it with me after I sprinted to the bank. The car had just under 23,000 miles on it and was in basically mint original condition under all the dirt built up from sitting for so long. Fortunately there was a canvas tarp tossed over the thing and it was always inside on a concrete floor for both owners. Nothing was put on top of the car so no dings, dents, and no scratches. All it needed was a good thorough cleaning from top top to bottom and it looked like it just came off the showroom floor.
Amazing find and the price made it one of my best grabs aside from my estate sale purchase of a vintage McIntosh audio system that the seller said he would throw in for $75 if bought the old mint condition Italian vintage sewing machine I was looking at for $100, LMAO!!! I almost passed out from holding in my enthusiasm, lol. He had it sitting in the basement away from the sale to give to his kids. But right before I got there they said it “looked like old stuff and they always got in trouble for going near it.” Hilarious. So he said I seemed to like old vintage stuff so how about an old stereo? Obviously they didn’t realize that wasn’t just “an old stereo”. It was some of the finest and most coveted audio equipment ever made!!! OF COURSE I’LL TAKE THE DEAL!!! LMAO!!! 🤑🤑🤣🤣

One if the baddest stop light drag racers of the 60,s. Knew a guy that had a 69 440 6pk PG 4 spd air grabber GTX and he would pull alongside any chevy back then , flip up the air grabber scoop and watch the drivers smile disappear. At the drag strip it EARNED the title. THE BOSS.

At one time, the '68 Satellite was in the upper end of the full size cars. I think it had a 428, but maybe it was the 440. I think this 69 gtx was the continuation of the Satellite. Very nice car. It liked the squared off back end.

The Roadrunner was the sport version of the Satellite. The GTX was based off of the Belvadere.

It's a toss up for me between a 69 GTX and a 69 Charger. But I'd lean GTX as it's more rarified air. Curious what the production numbers were between the two.
