      @@ObiWanGinobiliTopFan He lied and said it wasn't true. Then, it became an article in the New York Times and he did damage control by putting out a non-apologetic apology. He's changed his story. The three women who said they didn't agree to it never changed theirs.
      You made this comment..."When yes means no, that means this society as a whole has really, really gone insane." First, that's not what happened. Second, what about the saying "no means yes"? Don't you think that's insane? Basically, saying ignore women when they say no and just keep doing whatever you're doing. Do you know how long that has been said about women? For many decades!
      "How many of you guys, in your own experience with women, have learned that “no” means “yes” if you know how to spot it?" -Rush Limbaugh
      "5 Reasons "No" Might Mean "Yes" -The name of an article written by a man for a magazine in 2009.
      “If a lady says no, she means maybe.”
      ~Warren Buffet
      “if a woman goes into a room alone with a man at a party, it is her fault if she is raped.” -12% of respondents from a survey in Australia believe this to be true.
      One in six people believe that “women often say ‘no’ when they mean ‘yes’.” -According to that same study.
      Nearly 40 percent of the Australian respondents agreed that “a lot of times women who say they were raped led the man on and later had regrets,”.
      THAT is the truly insane thing.
      It's time to put away all of those dangerous myths about women and listen to what they are saying...especially when it comes to sex.

    • @nanny7397
      @nanny7397 3 роки тому

      @@OGS2099 I never said the women sued him. He lost money because businesses didn't want to continue working with someone who exposes himself to women. There are consequences when a person behaves that way and those were his. Considering how likable he has always been I don't think it mattered what the women said or did. I think we all know what would have happened if they had sued. Many people would have said they're lying and just want his money. They didn't sue and many people still refuse to believe them when they say they didn't give consent. Three of the women said they didn't. One of the women said she wanted to go to the police but she didn't think it was a crime. She said she felt she had to do something so she started talking about it. Then, Louis's manager called her manager to tell her to stop talking about it. I think if someone who worked in an office did this people would say what a sleazy pr^ck. He should get fired, arrested, or both. Celebrity and talent shouldn't factor into this situation. Louis said he knows the people who admired him didn't want to hear about it. He took advantage of that. He's still benefitting from that.
      There were no "public disclosures" from him. Like most of these cases, people in his community were aware of this. He started getting questions about it and he refused to address it saying they're "just rumors". Then, it became an article in The New York Times. That's when he and his people had to do something. That was about damage control. He doesn't get credit for that. The women who came forward are really brave considering how powerful he is in that industry. They wouldn't have done that if they hadn't felt violated in some way. This had an effect on their careers. They avoided anything he, or his manager, may have been attached to. Women who were unaffected by some sexual incident don't do things like that. It's not only him who suffered consequences because of his actions.

    Louis CK and the fact that he asked before he did what he did was the first ever "wait a minute" moment in the #metoo movement. Amber Heard was the nail in the coffin of that movement. Which is sad, we don't need a hashtag to not be a piece of shit but that just shows you what happens when any message is absolute. I feel so sorry for Louis, even though this came to light years after the concept of "kink shaming" he is shamed for his kink. I'm a fan of his forever.

    Louis CK is awesome and I really love it when comedians just go for it. Good on him to take the issue head on.... uh, no pun intended. ;)

    I love Louie. I think he is great. I buy everything he releases. However, he does whitewash his offense a bit, by not mentioning that this was in the workplace and the women were his subordinates. It would have been way more impressive if he *actually* copped to what the real offense was. No one gets in trouble asking a woman if you can jerk-off in front of them. He got in trouble because it was in the workplace.

      @mk bietz I've always loved and admired Louis and was so disappointed that he had done this. In the beginning, I thought he asked the women and they were cool with it. Then, I looked into it and it seems that he's the only one saying they all agreed to it. Three of the women said they didn't and I believe them. Especially considering Louis dismissed the stories as lies before it was in the Times. I think he got off on the power trip and their discomfort. That's the real creepy part of this in my opinion because that's predatory behavior.
