Was there that night. Loved the Eclipse it was my local all night bash straight from Birmingham on the 900 bus. To all the real old school ravers, originators...love it.
What a time to be alive. The scene was raw, exciting and full of energy but most of all pure fun! Helter skelter, Equinox, Rain dance, Exodus, Bedlam .. those were the days 🙃
Also Sterns in Worthing & Amnesia House with the Universe promoters where some of the very best organised wicked memorable events alongside legendary Raindance & the ones you mentioned in your comment. They always got the very best DJS at the beginning of the scene and all there flyers where spot on & they always had booked the DJs & PAs that where on the flyers unlike some promoters at that time. Late 90 to 93 before all the money men got involved & the split into different genres was the beginning of the end for me. It was so much better when we were all together as one dancing to the same music & experiencing the same atmosphere & chemicals. Days that we will never forget. We created a movement during those early years. It was so special & exciting that it’s hard to explain unless you lived in the scene just like we all did. Great times. 🕊️🤯🕊️
Definitely with you there all the way bro. For me the very best year for the music was 1991 the new hardcore that started just after the acid house style. We got so many classics from that year it truly was amazing. We where all part of this huge movement that it felt by 1992 when all the outdoor events got bigger & there was more & more events it was such an exciting time to be in the middle of these heady halcyon day’s. Awesome stuff. 🙌🕊️🙌🤯👍🤯
1986-96 was my time~ I was 14-24 and house, acid then hardcore raver/newage traveller festival follower. Rave was at its ZENITH at this time and everyone there remembers this golden time fondly.. After 94. Compared to earlier yrs, raves were changing- Esp big outdoor venues like raindance etc. we had the 2nd summer of love and a insane 'banging' time. Now we all in our early, mid and late 50s...lol
I missed the cut kind of...would of loved to be raving in the 91 92 ere but was only 11 -12 ...I started raving properly at big events in 96 but was listening to it all since 89 on tapes I poached off the big kids haha ....awesome times man
Aye you're not wrong Sir... Happy Times in the fields and warehouses and then In-Ter-Dance at Sterns in Worthing, West Sussex among others... Happy Days ❤️...
What a night. Was meant to be at home on a 5 o clock curfew but no way was i missing this night. Big up all 90s ravers and the lillington crew on tour.yes yes .
Wish I was a few years older to have experienced this, although I did see Cox play in Escape, Swansea in the very early naughties. Lived in Escape every weekend. Banging times, classics for me, but not like these old school rave events. What a time to be alive. Went out in the mid to late naughties a lot too, took my phones, but never really used them when out. Today all you see is selfies and phones lighting up events. They May as well not be there. 😂
I was big into clubbing from 90 to 95 then it was over. I then went from Dublin to Coventry to work on a new niteclub called The Planet Coventry it was to do with the students college. They spent a fortune on sound and lighting. Now it’s a car park If that ground could talk o the memories.
Best set I've heard still to date Aug 2014,,try not to play it all time so don't get to used to it but love all the tunes but only know a few of them,,Shazem is no help either. Still love these days even tho now 43,,who cares i love it when i am 70. :)
No idea why this popped up in the grey matter - probably a flashback. Anyway, I remember coming home one night and seeing this with my brother and thinking Pete Waterman is hating every minute of this. About a year later my cousin was studying at Coventry Uni and I decided to go up and see him. One of the best nights of my life...RAVE was a once-in-a-generation movement, still underground and fresh. Goosebumps
Awesome sets by both.. and i had the pleasure of playing a warm up set for Phantasy (and Ratty) a few months after this! Clyro Court near Hay-on-Wye. oh my days...
Marcus Garland Clayton court hay on wye had some good weekends there, golden delicious parties like yourself played with ratty and the eclipse was fuckin great
I recorded this off the telly (onto a VHS cassette) as I couldn't go, and wore the tape out playing it. I have been to hundreds of 90-93 raves, and this set is up there in the top 10. Most of these tunes are what I class as cheesy rinsed anthems nowadays, but back then they were great. The Powerpill mix was absolutely mint. It's cheese, but I still have it as my ringtone on my phone, it just screams 1992 for me.
Was always great to see Michaela LIVE in the morning on wide awake.. She had a 3hr window between end of hitman and start of wacaday - most times she looked fooked and clueless. Lol
Was there! Milton Keynes crew! Intercity every weekend a blinding night, one of the best clubs. Don't remember them two there 🤩. Big up the ratty and topbuzz madp. Hardcore till I die.
coxy just loved the fader, and that what brings mixing this stuff to life, if you can mix anyone can do it. piss easy. i'm hoping to re-do this mix myself 1 day using all the records.
Been looking for this for years........the full version with baby mo at the beginning ripping up the crossfader..........drop it, we love we like we beinging you some more......baby mo !!!!! Thank you !!!!!!!
Phantasy was on fire that night, on another level, I'd love a recording of that set, minus MC, I do remember seeing this when it aired, I think we just got in from Orbit ( I think), I just remember laughing my ass off at Pete Waterman lol, joker

Mikeala Strakken (not proper spelling) must have been partaking in some E or something back then I remember seeing her on Hitman and Her and she looked like she was coming on strong lol. Eclipse Coventry was a right night, a few of my pals went but I never did. I heard it was class I had some wicked Ratty tapes from there back in the day and I'm sure that I had this set from the big man himself Carl Cox. Great days to be a teenager and alive in the UK back then. WTF happened?
I don't remember this at all, I wish Hitman & Her had morphed into this, having proper DJ`s & MC`s on every week, instead of Pete using it as a vehicle for his shite-pop!
Granted this is an old comment but it’s worth mentioning that for all his shite pop, Pete Waterman was a friend of the scene. He was a massive help to a huge amount of independent labels and producers at the time and helped source distribution houses for many wanting nothing in return. He gets criticised a lot but he was an acid and rave mate.
@@whistleblower7078 He was, but he was an odd face to have on the scene. He`s a nice enough bloke, just never really fitted the image of programs like HM&H.

Lol, too funny seeing Carl Cox on 'Hit man and her', music at this time was bonkers..... Dare I say as good as it gets 👌
It was as good as it gets no doubt about it m8.
The best days of rave 91/93
We were the lucky ones. This music will never be matched again !!
That's true 91 to 93 are the best 92 in particular. Loved the hitman and her.

Pete waterman coming up on a New Yorker whilst Michaela keeps him topped up with water. Nice one! 😂❤
