Hyh Ddd cause that shit fuels it that the dumbest correlation I’ve ever seen u can’t use a car without fuel and fuel is a fossil fuel meaning it is limited use so sooner or later we will run out
litlle phsyco Yep, while with subscription services they don't give you anything they don't actually need it, the funds come from millions of players dropping 400 dollars on the console itself.
any part of any game that i paid for should be available without additional purchases. like, i understand microtransactions, paywalls, and all that in f2p games because they obviously do need to make their money in some way. but if someone sells me something, meaning i give him money for it, he should have already made some profits, therefore not requiring any additional money from me.
@@uzzi3760 yeah like I switched from ps4 to pc because i couldn't play minecraft multiplayer with my cousin because of ps plus. now i built a pc for 545€ and EVERYTHING is free online so you pay once...
You don't have to spend X2 on a PC, 350 dolars can give you something pretty decent, and also you have to take on account the upgradability, I still use my i7 2600, it's 7 years old and I don't plan to upgrade until 2020-2022 lol
Gonzalo cativa oh and i’m glad you mention the upgradeability, you might be able to upgrade and swap the parts in a pc, but there is literally no way to future proof a pc. even if you spend $20,000 on a gaming pc today i can guarantee that it won’t last longer than 10 years
The best way I derail their defense is point out that The Elder Scrolls online is free to play online without any service pay need to p.c, yet costs on PS4 or Xbox 1, they usually reply I don't know anything and waste their time, or don't reply at all
Griff, words from the old gamers: You can't fix stupid!!! You can explain it with facts, you can show logic, you can't fix the brainwashed. What makes you think the monthly payment you pay to your leash holders errr Microsoft and Sony isn't pure profit? Oh one little caveat: If Microsoft was using all this money for services to fund their gaming division, why are their games still loaded with microtransactions?
Buns Loco Nooooooo. multiplayer is much better than that cod iw.movement is so smooth and there is barely microtrasaction.you can unlock literally anything in that game.my favorite game ever.single player is also very good.
Why are people defending paying to play online? I already paid for my console,my internet, and my games for full price. Why do I have to pay to access more than 20% of my own console?
Kakarot Jr I imagine those are people who paid for ps+ back on the vita and ps3. Neither had online but it's the same service for the ps4. Where was this vitriol in the 360? Ah right. No one really cares or you people would have screamed for a change then.
I'm not defending it but its the least worst poison we have to swallow. If you look at the profit margins of Sony for example (and likely MS too though IIRC they hide their revenues of Xbox div within their devices division, they would often either have their profits almost completely wiped out some year and even go into losses other years without paid multiplayer revenue. For a division to continue to exist it can't continue to make little to no profits with no letup in sight. So without those profits, the danger is either they'd milk consumers on the backend of games with more microtransactions, or content locked behind paywalls, seasonpasses etc like the 3rd party devs have or they might cut dev expenses (making smaller less epic less polished games) and take less risks with games so we just get Halo, Gears and Forza because they don't want to take risks with new IPs.
Joshua Niteesh i don't have Xbox but 1 time it happened on the PS4 i think it was destiny 2 What happened is in your home screen a new icon for destiny was placed then thinking you got a new game ones you select it, it goes to store page of the game
Speedy yea and it auto download that to be put on the menu I too was pissed As long as they learn from that im good But to be on topic do xbox do that i mean like in the vid Thay put adds even non gameing related
What I don't understand is how Valve, can host multiplayer for games for free, yet their net worth is a fraction of Sony's and Microsoft's, but the bigger companies who can afford anything charge subscriptions for something that is already included in the game itself.
For Microsoft, it's just flat greed, they were the first to implement paid services with Xbox live for the classic and all the others followed suit. As for Sony, the PS4 is the only thing keeping Sony afloat. Their movie division is shit, their audio and electronics divisions are suffering due to a higher price for similar items that are being offered for a lower cost (stereos, headphones, and the consumer end) from competition and often better quality (Sony's quality has dropped in all but it's most expensive products). It's a mess for both companies and Griffin is right, we need to get rid of this socially engineered mindset of "poor corporation, we need to save them". From what? Endless greed and wealth? Neither deserves a dime for their scraps, but oh, the fanboys will do anything to save the Titanic, including throwing innocent passengers overboard to save their beloved CEO's despite the fact they could care less about them.
If they can do it to earn some extra dosh, they will. Kinda when gamers finds a glitch that is super benificial. If they can get away with it they will use it. Only when there's no profit to it will they stop. been PC gamer myself for a long time now. Just got the PS4 to be able to play ff7 remake. Friends were happy as now we could play online and I had my interest peaked... but when I had to pay to play online, which is free for me on my pc, I just said flat out no.
Remember when watching TV was free? Remember back then when games didn't have DLCs and such locked game content you need to pay for? Now Online is also something you have to pay for... What's left? Next thing would be to make Online on PC also "Premium"... That would be just... Jesus... What has this world turned to... Greed?
A paid subscription will never come to PC. If steam attempted to implement this pc gamers would all just buy there games from a different source due to the competitive market and consumer options that console lacks.
The ps3 online service was free, so yes, you can have online services for consoles for free. and plus, the first comment was in absolute denial. the Xbox 360 was covered with hackers from 2008 to 2012. it stopped for a little but began to rise again. Paying for the services didn't do anything for last gen and was without a doubt a complete scam to suck as much money out of the consumer as possible.
Remember when Microsoft attempted to implement that Games for Windows Live nonsense? PC gamers pushed back and Microsoft reverted to keeping the online free. Remember when Sony received major backlash from the PlayStation community after announcing PS4 online would be a paid service? Yeah, me neither. Remember when Nintendo announced the Switch's online would eventually go from free to paid and Nintendo fans rallied together to fight back against the greed? Well, I have a feeling people already pre-ordered their first subscription charge... What I found amusing was Reggie's response to opting for paid online and he gave the tired "Servers cost money" response. But does anyone genuinely believe that Nintendo would upgrade to dedicated servers and replace the crappy peer-to-peer? Console gaming is screwed.
I just switched from console to PC gaming less than a week ago (though I do play on my Playstation 4 once in a while). I must say the keyboard & mouse takes getting used to after using a controller for so long. That being said, the fact that I now have free online multiplayer really makes up for it.
I’m a big fan of console and pc and I’ll have to agree with this I was going to debate online account security for Psn and Xbox live but even then PC releases security patches for their online profiles for free aswell
Generally Sony and Microsofts consoles are sold at a loss to push tech, but still remain affordable. The Xbox One X was sold at cost. Last gen the PS3 took until 2010 to turn profit because of the hit that was taken to make its specs and formata reality. Essentially tony took a big risk to save Blu Ray in the format war (including their PR).
so u can get an gaming pc for 179 dollars or 199 dollars that can play all games as well as base xbox or ps4?no u cant.pc manufactuers dont sell their products at a loss either.im pretty sure companies want to earn money not lose money, its not an rip paying for an decent gaming pc is more of an rippof
Xbox also has mtx in hardware with the xb1 controller being built to fail with plastic analog stick modules that get "stick drift" way too easily and bumpers that break by looking at them wrong = Hardware As A Service; haas n gaas ftw
Galaxy Tiger I really appreciate single player games. I remember they asked the guy who’s making Spider-Man will there be micro transactions? And he said hell no. I really appreciate that
The reason my xbox is collecting dust Sense 2015 is because this retarded subscriptions There is nothing to do without xbox like and basically no games
I'm a fanboy so to speak but I do see that they are not perfect guys just open your eyes he's right. I'm a die hard console player but even I understand this
I am a hardcore console player too (PS4) and I dont really mind it. It would be nice for it to be free but you also get free games with PS+ and Xbox gold so thats also something you pay for (also for PS4 you get extra online storage if you have ps+)
OneSpeedyBoy you don’t get “free games” with games with gold and the PlayStation equivalent because you’re paying to get gold and you’re using gold to play the games and I’m pretty sure that is your gold runs out then you can’t play the games anymore.
@@reecestiff7034 nope whenever ps plus runs out you can still play the game and whenever you would purchase ps plus for a year you pay 60 EUR and most of the time 1 month of games would be 70 EUR worth of games (not saying the games are good cuz most of them are trash)
Couch gaming news No, blame the market who is willing to pay for such trends. So long as people are willing to pay then the market will play along, money talks.
Don't forget to blame the gamers too. Microsoft tried doing the same to PC gamers and PC gamers told them to go fuck themselves which resulted in Games for Windows Live dying.
To put it simply you're having to pay for something that shouldn't be paid for. When you buy the game it comes with online so you're locked behind a paywall.
Griffin Gaming on free games... Basically paying real money for lesser amount of content than the game already has which is free, for example imagine that you got a free carpet, but you can't walk on it until you buy exclusive cosmetic red coating for it, doesn't affect your experience walking on it but it's mandatory if you want to be like the other 'cool guys' that have that exclusive color, just like Fortnite cosmetic items
I'm becoming a big fan of micro transactions and here's why. No more splitting the community of gamers over high cost dlc. They're making so much money on micro transactions that they're going back to a one purchase game, thank God. I could never understand why people would pay 100 dollars to get the full game. Second, so long as micro transactions are just aesthetic only then they're not pay to win, so it won't affect your gameplay at all. Third, I would rather buy something that I want than roll dice in a micro transaction crate, it appears that all games are moving away from random purchases, and towards high cost customizable purchases. Fourth, since micro transactions can be purchased for years, it creates an incentive for the game to continue to get patches and for new content to be continually released (cf, fortnite). It keeps the creators of the game involved in the game so long as the game still has players, I love this. The cash cows are literally wasting so much money on micro transactions that I'm able to get future games at a cheaper price. Thank you rich kids who spend hundreds of dollars a month on micro transactions. 😂
PC Gaming It's because people justify little purchases to themselves more than big purchases, parents give kids small allowances which they can spend on micro transactions, and because cash cows who have no problem spending hundreds of dollars to get all the content.
@PurpleSkunkYT - I thought the points he stated were common knowledge until I met the latest console generation. Seems fuckwits like you would rather waste time talking out of your ass in a youtube comments section than doing a little research.
Not to mention Sony a giant got hacked twice and hundreds of thousands of players got there credit card info stolen, so I don't see how consoles are anymore safe from hackers then PC players.
How many of these "fanboys" are in fact actually employees masquerading as gamers to attack other gamers and streamers? Why would they do that? Lots of profit, money! Money and greed is the motivator here!
I believe you've perfectly explained by pc gaming is a great alternative to not paying for online. As admirable as this is all is lost for consoles. once microsoft succeeded with xbox live gold and the competition followed it was checkmate on consumers. they are raking in billions. As for the people backing paid online, I agree that there is an error in their logic. I'll will admit that your persistence makes me hopeful. I was making this same argument against microsoft in 2007.
Snake Gaming ign just reported microsoft just made 10 billion in revenue from Xbox. they made all of that without properly making games for their consumer. traditionally for consoles....Pandora's box has been opened. they've figured out what Activision and ea have always known. you can make cut backs on your pro consumer investment (all under the guise of being pro choice) and mount the profit on nickel and diming off of services. Xbox live was just the start and the plot will thicken.
theravenflow yeah pc is superior in many ways sure it may cost more at first and you may miss out on a couple console exclusives (you'll be able to emulate them later if it matters that much to you) but the price for paying online every year will just keep adding up until eventually you've spent more on fucking Xbox live and PlayStation plus than you would've just getting a gaming pc.
Sony is the reason they are investing in first party. Competition drives innovation. Basic economics. They are compelled to if they want marketshare. Microsoft doesnt need Xbox to make money, but they do want to have their software to sell on as many platforms as possible. On consoles Xbox Live is extracting billions out of consumers, as well as Game Pass. While it say this, it doesnt mean there isn't value. The economics of the situation is merely changing, thanks to companies like netflix. The word pro consumer is thrown around quite a bit. The problem is you can only be so pro consumer, until you become anti business. Xbox Live has never been pro consumer. As long as any business has competition that has potential to overthrow them, they will remain fair. This the reason why they allowed you to use your netflix without gold. Sony was doing it already. As Microsoft influences the industry, it will continue to grow away from tradition for better or for worse. It all depends on what you want. Whats good for someone might not be good for the another. Who knows? Somethings might turn out to be good. The problem here is the naivete that a company's pro consumer behavior remains constant. Always remember this.
First party servers are, but you have a point. We cannot say the money isnt going to increasing the quality of life though (because it is). As for servers, yes...many multiplayer games work P2P. Many gave Xbox Live credit for a percieved value in COD last gen, but I just cannot agree that it was primarily the case.
wait - how does someone claim xbox gold / ps+ gives you free games under the exact video where you told people hunderds of times that these games are in fact - big shock incoming - not free, but added on as a marketing decision and disguised as "free" lol
Correct but you get 2 free games every 2 weeks plus now with game pass your getting AAA titles day one the only way to do this was this move i do admit it should have been done last gen
I'd love for online play to be free but the fact of the matter is I highly doubt that will happen anytime soon. I'd hate to think that I have to accept this fact but as of now it kind of seems that way.
LOL is free to download and play, and WOW is a subscription game by design and a perfect example of a freemium AAA game that charges you an entry fee on top of the monthly fee. we have dedicated servers, and we don't have to pay Steam or GOG extra for that.
This is like you bought a car and the manufacturer charge you for filling gas, totally BS. Gaming quality going down because of these braindead fans continuously paying for those BS practices.
They only defend PS and Xbox on this one because they're not Nintendo The console fandoms are stupid -_- They should all be blamed for this (espically Microsoft) Free Online multiplayer for life
Lol I thought this is a console gaming channel, I didn’t expect this kind of video which is typically from PC channels like Rags from you lol. I agree with your message though, paying to play online never sat well with me. I was especially disappointed when Nintendo did it as they are supposed to be family friendly. The only time I was a PS+ subscriber was when I used the free 3 months trial given with my PS4. Most of my online gaming are done on my PC because of this. However, I doubt things will change as gamers seem to have accepted it and it’s too much money for the companies to give up. In particular, fanboys would rather fight for pointless things like crossplay because it fits their agenda to make the competing platform look bad. It’s not about fighting for their own benefits like not paying $60 every year for a feature that should be free, they would rather fight for a feature they most likely don’t use or care about for their plastic’s benefit. The gamers definitely can change things as we saw with PC gamers refusing to accept Xbox live being paid on the Xbox windows app and they made it free. But I don’t see it happening on consoles sadly, unless that fanboy thinking changes.
OddEyes uh... crossplay pointless? It’ll increase the player count for games. Dead or alive is dead on pc cross play would increase the player base Smite on PS4 has a small population and adding cross play would help a ton Any multiplat is probably gonna have a low population of the switch and cross play would eliminate that
You Are it’s a feature not too many care about or use to warrant that kind of outrage it got. How many people are thinking about “damn I want to play smite on the PS4 and I can’t”? Before Microsoft and Nintendo announced crossplay between them, no one even talked or cared about crossplay. The “outrage” happened because Xbox and Nintendo fans saw a chance to talk about Sony in a negative light. Don’t you agree that those efforts would be better placed on trying to make these companies make online gaming free? Imagine the money you can save. That’s why I called crossplay pointless because it doesn’t come close to other more important issues like paying to play online.
Same really. Tho another thing that surprised me is the big number of dudes who are really concerned and worried about Microsoft and Sony losing a lot of money. They be like “ but they’ll lose tons of money”.
well if they were losing money in the first place they wouldn't exist...everything has a cost and someone has to pay but seriously...this is straight up illogical
As a console gamer, I only bought PS+ because I wanted to try out COD ghost multiplayer on PS4. I ended up coming to the conclusion that you should not have PS+ to play a feature of the game, you should have PS+ for the free game and DLCs they have and discounts like PS3. IN most cases, your paying double to play online because of your internet bills and deals and etc.Fuck xbox for starting this trend, fuck Nintendo and Sony for following it.
Article: According to Eurogamer, Its said that after a gamer buys a PlayStation 4 for $399, as long as they buy a new game from the device maker and open a PlayStation Plus account, Sony will be able to generate a slight profit on that person. The PlayStation 4 will be released on November 15 in North America and November 29 in Europe. It's not uncommon for new consoles to lose money at launch. In fact, most console makers sell their hardware at launch at a loss to get the price down, increase their install base, and attract more developers. Over time, as hardware pricing falls, the companies' margins rise and the revenue they generate through developer partnerships goes up with them. Source: www.cnet.com/news/playstation-4-to-sell-at-a-loss-but-sony-expects-profit/ My thoughts: fuck your right, they only take a loss at launch but convince us they are losing money to justify the subscription. I try to stay well researched on topics that I’m interested in. Guess I was asleep. Thanks for waking me up to that fact.
That was true with the 7th gen consoles to an extent. They were initially sold at a loss and began to turn a profit as the tech got cheaper over the years. 8th gen consoles have been sold at a profit from the beginning and have continued to make Sony and Microsoft more money as time went by. Still though, that's no excuse to charge for online when they already take a 30% cut from all digital purchases and third party game sales, so they're already stacked. Not to mention this is Sony and Microsoft we're talking about. Two extremely rich corporations that make plenty of money from other industries too.
I live in a city where having internet can be seen as a luxury, where playing online with a console and besides having to pay more for it is totally ridiculous
Griff I made this same comment on ng4 that gamers should fight for free online play on consoles and got downvoted because they wanted to fight over trivial xplay. Paid online play is more anti consumer then anything on consoles but gamers won't band together to fight to make it free again.
Samuel Ashmeade hard8 made a good point about this, it’s because they are fanboys of a certain console. Every console does paid online now, so they cannot push their console war agenda by complaining about something every company is doing. Fanboys only complain about things one platform is doing and one isn’t. Crossplay is a good example, another is did you see Xbox fanboys care about backwards compatibility when the 360 was the only console who doesn’t have it while the wii and PS3 had it? But now it’s one of the things they talk about the most. Also, PS3 fanboys loved to complain about paid online when it was free on the PS3, but when Sony started doing it they stopped talking about it. Because it doesn’t fit their agenda of making other platforms look bad. People need to get their priorities right man.
OddEyes unfortunately I have to pay for PSN, but I will not pay for both Live and Ninty online. One subscription is more than enough. I wish console gamers would band together to get free online back. As for xplay Sony does do it just not with the other console players.
Samuel Ashmeade that’s true. And when you mention that to the crossplay complainers, they aren’t having any of that because it wouldn’t fit their agenda of making Sony look bad lol.
People killed me with that ignorance. People we're hacking the last generation consoles like crazy even though you paid Microsoft. They're ignorant and are more than willing to be happy to throw their money away and be suckers. Yes make a part two.
The thing I don’t get is why people are getting pissed at the concept of saving money, even if it’s a small amount in the long run. I’ve been playing playstation consoles for my entire life but even I can agree with abolishing the pay for online business model. If you think about it objectively, without any bias, it’s easy to see that you’re paying a gatekeeper an additional amount to play the primary portion of the game you’ve already spent a chunk of money on. Anyway, would you recommend the razr blade laptop? I’ve been thinking of saving up for one but I’m not sure if it’s worth it. Great video :)
People that use the "yeah well $60 a year isn't that much" argument forget that it's $120 after two years, $180 after three years. $200 after 4 years....eventually enough to have paid for the next generation console by the time it comes out.
15:57 - "Since when does economic status have anything to do with playing and enjoying video games?" (Paraphrased. On mobile.) Since MS, Sony, and now Nintendo started charging customers access to their friends list. Not everybody has the money to drop on an aspect of a gaming system that has nothing to do with the games. That's why I asked my dad for a PS3 back in the day. So we wouldn't have to pay an extra $50-$120 /year to play with friends. And having to explain to him, "Hey dad, you know that expensive $500 box you bought me? You have to pay an extra $10/ month so I can play with my friends." He would've told me, "Invite them over then!" Lol I'm not arguing against your point. Just pointing out another way that these consoles are anti-consumer.
I had one console gamer legitimately tell me "PC has to pay to play online because you pay for your internet." He said that as if he had made a good point. I honestly don't know how to react.
Let´s put it like this: It was free on PS3 and it still is on PC. So it can be free on Xbox1 and PS4 as well. Simple as that. I mean, sure the prices are rather affordable but do i want to pay for it? No. I don´t. I rather spend the money on things like groceries. You know the stuff i need to maintain my vital functions.
I find it hilarious that some people argue that paying $60 a year makes online gaming more convenient. How is it more convenient to need to set up an internet connection, enter your credit card details and pay a fee, then play the game, than it is to set up an internet connection and play the game? The fact that you need to pay is what makes online gaming on consoles less convenient than PC.
"they sell consoles at a loss duhh" people are literally asking to be fined for an indefinite period of time to compensate for a fixed amount of 'loss' that isn't even real for multibillion dollar worth corporations that only care about making money? WHAAAAT
We shouldn’t harass them for the sake of free multiplayer. It just makes you look like a bunch of brats who whine because your parents can’t buy a toy for them.
Just don't buy Gold, if enough people don't buy Gold they'll pick up on it, if you want to check out my new club Hawx For Life on the Xbox one clubs it's to try to do just that, if anyone who sees this could at least check it out to see if your interested I'd appreciate just that, this needs to change, Microsoft needs a wake up call. #FightTheCystem
Ive said this before and ill say it again, Why does Sony and Microsoft not charge a fee to access internet on their laptops? Why just consoles? They are scamming us out of our 💰
It amazes me how these corporate companies didn’t get any backlash from the player base. Some of the games on the platforms are owned by game development studios that host their own server rooms not owned by Sony/Microsoft, yet they still charge us to pay for online on servers that aren’t even theirs. 🤦♂️ pathetic.
Another aspect I find incredibly ironic is that servers are constantly down, PSN is notoriously known for this, and this causes the entire multiplayer system to stop functioning. So much for paying for "superior servers", even though they're only the servers that connect players and not the game servers, which means that you cannot access any of the game servers regardless.
$60 a year isn't too much, but spending the cost of another new game just to be able to play with other people for a year with most of that money just going into the pocket of a big company is simply ridiculous
The more easy to acknowledge fact here is this. I saw more arguments like this like 2 or 3 years ago, but when times passed by they started to banish: "If you don't want to pay, just play offline". Yep, and that's why Sony and Microsoft have their aim, they wanted gamers to feel like online gaming is a privilege, a plus, something you have to earn, something you have to be ok if you don't have it. And there's nothing more inaccurate, since last generation, online is the main part of the gaming experience, online gaming supports social, online gaming made the industry growth, online gaming gave the industry the chance of mature. If it didn't then why all console launches back in 2013 insisted in showing us their "social capabilities" like sharing, streaming, etc.? Sony knows online is fundamental and essential, and that's why they will tell you anything to make you think it's not, and they'll hide their dirty business model of RESTRICT YOU from your internet service behind all kinds of real secondary and "plus" kind services like those "free" (really rented) cheap indie games... Just yesterday on reddit i saw a guy posting facts like these on the "psn down" posts of console fanboy, and they downvoted every singles reasonable argument he posted, yeah he was kinda horsing around, but he has a point, they pay 60 bucks a year at least and yet sony's "servers" (which they stupidly claim holds the game's server) went down and collapse, twice in a month...
Thanks for being honest and to the point with your opinion, not a lot of people do that nowadays. Although I don’t like the way Nintendo is going with their online service (and other console companies), the reason why people stick with and love their favorite brand of consoles is that there are truly great exclusives on them. This leads to the unnecessary loyalty which makes a fanboy, and unfortunately makes up every fanbase. I came into this thinking it would be another pro pc rant, but instead I got a perfectly neutral view on the entire situation here, and I appreciate that. Enjoy a new sub.
I want to get a switch to play splatoon 2. But I swear. If I'm suddenly forced to pay to play online in order to play online on splatoon 2,I'll refuse to buy a nintendo switch or just play offline. It's been free for this long. Keep it that way. As for consoles,I used to love PS4. I still do. But I despise sony with a burning passion, and I refuse to buy an Xbox one since it's basically the same thing. I literally switched to PC gaming specifically because I don't have to pay for anything except the games I get. Though I also refuse to buy games with subscriptions where you'll have to pay money regularly to be able to just play the game,as it's basically spitting in my face as if to say I'm just renting it. (That's mostly with MMO's though.)
I get how you feel. Now about the switch, there are plenty of great online games, but there are definitely more great single player games as well. If you only plan to get a switch for Splatoon or other online games, but don’t want to pay for a subscription, do not get it. It simply isn’t worth it as many of these games heavily base their true fun in the online mode. Now if you want single player games, there really isn’t a better console for them. You’ve got triple a titles like Zelda, Mario, Xenoblade and other third party games. There’s also the fact that you can play these anywhere, along with some amazing indie games. Do you like Hollow Knight, Stardew Valley, etc.? Well with the switch, you can play it on the toilet. (Which really sold it for me.) I’m skeptical of the online service just like you, but you can’t really beat the switch if you want good single player games.
I give you props Mr.griffin💪🏼. I love playing on PlayStation and Xbox but paying for the subscription is stupid because Microsoft and Sony put up walls and take away privileges of playing with friends and family I totally agree with the things you say 100% man keep up the good work and don't stop💪🏼.
there's a difference between console players and peasants, the peasants defend paying for multiplayer which is already provided and maintained by the developers for free
Damn I think this was one of the first videos I watched from you. I was pissed when Sony pulled this shit and was hoping someone wasn’t even defending this.
Some mistakes literally everyone is making: 1. Steam, Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo do not pay for the multiplayer servers unless it's a game that they are producing (for example on uplay and origin, ubisoft and ea pay for the servers), in the rest of the cases the developer or the publishers pay. 2. Time and time again it has been proven that a pc can beat a console for a same price build, and you can't make up a 200$+ fake price on a blue ray player, also nobody needs a blue ray player when everyone can just do it digital. 3. Steam actually has more features than any other fucking console, steam doesn't handle "most of it", it handles all of it and more. Edit: to see proof for point 2 you can look at some videos titled like: can a 200$ _300$ pc can beat the ps4/xb1 or can a 500$ pc beat the xb1x Also for point number 3 - the steam's big picture fearure alone can get your pc to function like a console and at the same time stay a fully capable PC...
@@PoseidonsTavern they won't elaborate because they have a lot of youtubers to go through XD, they are probably going this to get attention or to argue against pc in a full parrot form - which either reason it is it's really sad...
Did u just said pc can beat console at same price.. Well then please sir. Mention oc parts for me.. A pc to beat series s.. 300$ pc that can beat series s.. And a 500$ pc which can beat series x... Please mention parts with price
@@marshalldteach3545 it doesn't matter how much i search, the new consoles will shit at the pc's with the same price especially nowadays When gpu prices surged because the lack of silicon (like... Rtx 2070 at 1100$) or some shit like that, even Linus tech tips couldn't find a proper solution... But I have some points i have to make: 1. This comment is a year old according to YT, So shit has changed, gpu's prices used to be close to their msrp. 2. Even when a console costs a certain price all new consoles i know have some sort of a paid service that is required for you to play online, in the xbox it's the live gold and as far as i remember that costs 60$ a year, assuming you use the console for 5 years then to me if inflates the price for 300$. So to me the series s is effectively 600$ and the series x is effectively 800$, it could be more or less depending on how many years they are around, i only count this because on PC i was never required to use such service (that is by a way a scam to make money with no effort) 3. I saw some YT videos where UA-camrs said the xbox doesn't perform as well as it should in some games because of some bullshit with developer kits or something... I might be wrong with it, but even if i am wrong is already pretty obvious that you get no promise of being future proof... For example the xb1 ran games like shit and people needed to buy an xb1s/x to have the gaming experience they wanted, which to me inflated the price by 300$-500$ in that generation, the series s/x currently seem fine but i can't trust Microsoft's word that it will survive a generation, also in a PC with a solid cpu you can just replace the gpu only to pay less next gen. 4. Even when it requires a 1000$ pc it doesn't change the fact that a PC is a work-capable machine, most of the features a pc has a console cannot have, and many of the gaming features consoles have are already in stream or some other game store or game subscription service or the PC itself. So overall when you pay for a PC you pay for a product that can do more, so I'd rather pay 500$ For solid parts and 500$ for an rtx 3070 (once prices and production gets normal again, economy had to recover) and have an all in one system that honestly shits on consoles rather then having an ok console and a meh work machine
@@mistahstyle bruhh. Ok i get u. But look can u mention spec for 300$ to beat series s and 500$ to beat series x. Lets suppose the price of cpu and gpu aint inflated.. Every price is retail price . So just mention the spec with price? And why u assuming everyone plays multiplayer? Well i dont. I just play single player. And games like fortnite apex legends and cod warzone are free to play anyways. Just give me specs of pc at retail price around 300$ and 500$ to beat series s and series x respectively. Please if u can i will buy pc then. Lets see
I've told Microsoft what they could do to still earn some revenue and satisfy gamers who are too poor for Gold, but they don't listen to me. I told them make an Xbox Live Silver service for free online multiplayer and social communication and have Gold and Game pass combined with all the other Gold benefits for $12 or $15 a month. This would be best solution for everyone.
It died on all platforms at one point......it's going good on XB1 currently coz of the massive price drop in the last Xbox Store sale and EA Access but who knows how long it's gonna go ......EA killed it
CrazyDolfeen ea has stolen from no one.people willingly gave their money to them.if a game stole from their consumer than it is destiny.the game locked you out of content that you already bought unless you bought the expansion
The ironic thing is I had already cancelled both PS+ and XBLG just before your videos on this subject were made simply because I’ve been getting into PC gaming and realized how little changes in games like COD, Battlefield, Street Fighter, Rainbow Six, etc when you’re paying someone else vs having access to play them at no extra cost. That’s when I realized how stupid it is for console fanboys to argue if XBL or PSN is “faster” or “generate less lag” when playing games as you’re simply paying MS and Sony a fee to connect to a third party’s servers, the same ones that power the PC version’s without that extra fee. It is funny, though, seeing people have the facts presented clearly to their faces and come through with such blatant misconception or even just straight up insults just to protect their console from someone else’s words.
We're already paying for the hardware and software, plus internet services.. I don't see why we should pay to play online.. I'm just basically just played single Player games offline nowadays, been like that for awhile.
Also, with said Microsoft currency, you can get Xbox Live for 29,000 points ($28 equivalent) or lower with deal s. Free online services is definitely pro-consumer but until it changes, there are ways to minimize cost(s). Haven't paid (with cash) for Live for years.
Bing is actually a lot better than Google search, because Google censors so much information, but yet people don't care, they'll still use Google search and won't get rewarded for using it. Why not use Bing? It's rewarding you with points and gives you credit towards Xbox Live Gold, Game pass and Cash to buy the games you want. Microsoft deposited $2.50 into my account like 2 weeks ago, and today i just bought the Wolfenstein collection with it, meaning i got an amazing deal on them.
Put Adblock on at the router level, that blocks ads on consoles and almost everything in the entire household. The odd ad sneaks through on UA-cam on smart TVs but it usually works well.
The only reason I still pay Xbox Live Gold is because Microsoft forces it on us. I'd be very glad if I didn't have to pay extra to play with other players
Exclusives are the only charm of consoles. PCs are much more cheaper when we compare its price with the amount we spend on consoles as a whole which includes online, games at full price and so on.
I am console gamer myself And I absuletely HATE it that we have to pay for online multiplayer So most of us including me is kind of stuck alone in a corner anable to ply our favourite game online
Lol, this straight-up sounds like a roasting video! XD You certainly have put these people in their place! Anyway, I 100% agree with your videos, this makes me really hate having to pour out a chunk of my hard-earned money on something that should be FREE! Just comes to show that money really is the root of all evil.
I completely agree paying for online services is absurd! And even though some online subscriptions are "worth it", for example Nintendo's online service is only $20/year which includes 20 NES Games a month plus online features, but it is still ridiculous to have to pay for the service when we already bought their console, games, accesories and of course wi-fi from another company. We should have the option to buy those NES games and keep the service free (which would probably get them more money anyway. Think about it someone buys 20 NES games a month for a "low price" of $2/each. Nintendo would get $40/month rather than $20/year). So... As you said! - W H Y S H O U L D W E H A V E T O P A Y E V E N M O R E T O P A Y T O P L A Y G A M E S W E A L R E A D Y P A I D F O R ! ! !
The reasion these companys still charge you for multiplayer is because the know people buy it, all we have to do is not pay for it. Then they will realize that it hurts them, thus forcing them to do somthing else.
Paid online was the last straw for me. I made a comment once on an Xbox video about how online multiplayer should be free. I was immediately ridiculed by so many fanboys. They defend paid online, for no reason! I've moved over to mostly play on PC, I barely play on other platforms anymore. I have so much more freedom to play how I want on PC.
Those fanboys are brainwashed by marketing. It's hard to shake away from that. What most don't get is consoles are licensing business. They use outdated hardware to trap consumers into their ecosystem. Then charges premium for services that are free on other platforms. This is why Sony and Microsoft can sell their console hardware at little to no profit.
Xbox live gold is a scam, there should be lawsuits. edit: i know this is pretty extreme but i am pretty butthurt ok i never got to play cod online cos of those bastards.
DatGrunt they can do it, its all about if they will. The amount of income that they make with this useless subscription is ridiculous, but I'm gonma be honest here. With what's going on recently with Sony being the #1 target since they've been so anti-consumer, if Xbox gets rid of Xbox live Gold and Nintendo cancels their plans to do so. Sony is gonna be in a lot of trouble which will lead to Xbox and Nintendo gaining a shit load of money from former PS4 users buying their consoles
Kind of why I didn't buy a PS4. The Switch is about to do it but it's $20 and I get cloud storage and various features. $60 is another game, gas money, food!!, clothes. Business is business but I really miss the days where I can play online for free. PS3 days were my childhood
I pay enough for my own internet... why would I want to pay twice?
So absurd.
Lazy Lee fax u pay for the internet then the console then the game just to find out u need to pay again for online services makes sense smh
You already payed for.your car why should you pay for gas?
Hyh Ddd cause that shit fuels it that the dumbest correlation I’ve ever seen u can’t use a car without fuel and fuel is a fossil fuel meaning it is limited use so sooner or later we will run out
litlle phsyco Yep, while with subscription services they don't give you anything they don't actually need it, the funds come from millions of players dropping 400 dollars on the console itself.
You pay for the internet then the console then the game then the subscription to play a game that makes you pay because of microtransactions.
Fanboys are why we can't have nice things.😤

I don't give a damn, multi-player and online Service's should be free no matter what.
any part of any game that i paid for should be available without additional purchases. like, i understand microtransactions, paywalls, and all that in f2p games because they obviously do need to make their money in some way. but if someone sells me something, meaning i give him money for it, he should have already made some profits, therefore not requiring any additional money from me.
I think these kids would understand your point once they start earning their own money.

@@maxwag9263 yup
I've actually been considering switching to PC. It's absurd I have to pay for online play
Ikon N Black Velvet but it’s not absurd to spend literally over 2x the cost of a console just to game online for free?
You don't have to spend X2 on a PC, 350 dolars can give you something pretty decent, and also you have to take on account the upgradability, I still use my i7 2600, it's 7 years old and I don't plan to upgrade until 2020-2022 lol
Gonzalo cativa last time i checked a $350 pc won’t even run minecraft at steady 30 fps
Gonzalo cativa maybe if it’s prebuilt and used
Gonzalo cativa oh and i’m glad you mention the upgradeability, you might be able to upgrade and swap the parts in a pc, but there is literally no way to future proof a pc. even if you spend $20,000 on a gaming pc today i can guarantee that it won’t last longer than 10 years
I don't even know how this is defended, wouldn't know where to begin, people trippin
I can only defend if they can offer triple a games every month
The best way I derail their defense is point out that The Elder Scrolls online is free to play online without any service pay need to p.c, yet costs on PS4 or Xbox 1, they usually reply I don't know anything and waste their time, or don't reply at all
It's defended by rich people who have never seen free online play/pc
@Caffeinated Critic yep it should cheap like switch online services or free

Why are people defending paying to play online?
I already paid for my console,my internet, and my games for full price. Why do I have to pay to access more than 20% of my own console?
Kakarot Jr I imagine those are people who paid for ps+ back on the vita and ps3. Neither had online but it's the same service for the ps4. Where was this vitriol in the 360? Ah right. No one really cares or you people would have screamed for a change then.
What are you talking about,I am talking about all consoles that require you to pay online. Not just one console.
Mike M
True, compared to microtransactions, this is a easy pill to swallow. Not saying I like paying online, just saying what's worse.

What I don't understand is how Valve, can host multiplayer for games for free,
yet their net worth is a fraction of Sony's and Microsoft's, but the bigger companies who can afford anything charge subscriptions for something that is already included in the game itself.

Clean Water EA is feeling good tho
A paid subscription will never come to PC. If steam attempted to implement this pc gamers would all just buy there games from a different source due to the competitive market and consumer options that console lacks.
Paid online subscriptions started before DLC. The OG Xbox started this trend, and it has only further pervaded the industry.
if a console "factually cannot exist" without paid online service... then maybe it shouldn't.
Odd thing to say when most consoles factually exist without it.
Well, I guess the PS2 doesn't exist
accually priacy helps the gaming indrusty, look it up, most ppl do it to demo the game
i think you should not have sunk to his level of insults, but you are TOTALY FUCKING RIGHT THO

Also, learned something new today. Didn't know these generation of consoles didn't sell at a loss. So they rip you off twice. Amazing.

To put it simply you're having to pay for something that shouldn't be paid for. When you buy the game it comes with online so you're locked behind a paywall.
And my brother tries justifying microtransactions
Still bad but atleast those are a choice
Griffin Gaming on free games...
Basically paying real money for lesser amount of content than the game already has which is free, for example imagine that you got a free carpet, but you can't walk on it until you buy exclusive cosmetic red coating for it, doesn't affect your experience walking on it but it's mandatory if you want to be like the other 'cool guys' that have that exclusive color, just like Fortnite cosmetic items
Shit head

Game servers are not hosted by Microsoft or Sony. Valve does the same shit, and more, and better, for free.
theravenflow yeah pc is superior in many ways sure it may cost more at first and you may miss out on a couple console exclusives (you'll be able to emulate them later if it matters that much to you) but the price for paying online every year will just keep adding up until eventually you've spent more on fucking Xbox live and PlayStation plus than you would've just getting a gaming pc.

Dead or alive is dead on pc cross play would increase the player base
Smite on PS4 has a small population and adding cross play would help a ton
Any multiplat is probably gonna have a low population of the switch and cross play would eliminate that
You Are it’s a feature not too many care about or use to warrant that kind of outrage it got.
They are all same greedy hippos
COD Ghosts is more fun with bots than players
Source: www.cnet.com/news/playstation-4-to-sell-at-a-loss-but-sony-expects-profit/
My thoughts: fuck your right, they only take a loss at launch but convince us they are losing money to justify the subscription.

Samuel Ashmeade They will bitch about crossplay but not band together to make console multiplayer free.
That one guy who comments on random videos how sad is that, that they won't even fight to get free online gaming back?
The sad thing is the pay to play online will never go away. (The way it seems)
Don't loose hope, Hawx For Life Community on Xbox one clubs if you have Xbox one, and the time

You basically end up paying for the cost of the console twice or more over it's life time. It's insane.
enfrahg money isn’t joke
15:57 - "Since when does economic status have anything to do with playing and enjoying video games?" (Paraphrased. On mobile.)
Since MS, Sony, and now Nintendo started charging customers access to their friends list. You have to pay an extra $10/ month so I can play with my friends." He would've told me, "Invite them over then!" Lol
I'm not arguing against your point. Just pointing out another way that these consoles are anti-consumer.
I had one console gamer legitimately tell me "PC has to pay to play online because you pay for your internet."
He said that as if he had made a good point. I honestly don't know how to react.
He sounds so smart 🤡
@@gentleman40 his own face is💩
Let´s put it like this: It was free on PS3 and it still is on PC. So it can be free on Xbox1 and PS4 as well. Simple as that.
I mean, sure the prices are rather affordable but do i want to pay for it? No. I don´t. I rather spend the money on things like groceries. You know the stuff i need to maintain my vital functions.
Something I've thought about yeah
as a pc and ps4 gamer paying for multiplayer sucks i wish multiplayer is free on consoles

Pc gamer?
"they sell consoles at a loss duhh"
people are literally asking to be fined for an indefinite period of time to compensate for a fixed amount of 'loss' that isn't even real for multibillion dollar worth corporations that only care about making money? WHAAAAT
Why not we all harass sony and Microsoft untill they give multiplayer for free?
Spam them >:)
Enough sheep are already paying. They won't listen.
We shouldn’t harass them for the sake of free multiplayer. It just makes you look like a bunch of brats who whine because your parents can’t buy a toy for them.

Really enjoy these types of discussion videos, keep it up!!
It's kinda hilarious. My PS+ membership is more expensive then my actual internet bill. PS+ is just a shittier version of Steam.
$60 a year isn't too much, but spending the cost of another new game just to be able to play with other people for a year with most of that money just going into the pocket of a big company is simply ridiculous
you already paid 60 dollars for a game now you have to pay extra for just playing online
Paying for playing with friends online is like saying
"I have to pay to see my friends"
Lmao
Thanks for being honest and to the point with your opinion, not a lot of people do that nowadays. Although I don’t like the way Nintendo is going with their online service (and other console companies), the reason why people stick with and love their favorite brand of consoles is that there are truly great exclusives on them. This leads to the unnecessary loyalty which makes a fanboy, and unfortunately makes up every fanbase. I came into this thinking it would be another pro pc rant, but instead I got a perfectly neutral view on the entire situation here, and I appreciate that. Enjoy a new sub.
Thank you for the kind words 👍
I definitely feel the same way. Although they’ve made questionable marketing and business decisions over the years, their exclusives still rock.
Ben Yu I’m primarily focusing on the single player experience, but I was hoping to be able to play online until I saw this action being put in place.
I also support you
He stopped 😔
Never tell people they just wasted their money
I’m a console gamer and I think that paying 60 dollars for multi player is a bunch of horseshit.
You could buy a good single player game or another multiplayer game with that $60.
there's a difference between console players and peasants, the peasants defend paying for multiplayer which is already provided and maintained by the developers for free
Damn I think this was one of the first videos I watched from you. I was pissed when Sony pulled this shit and was hoping someone wasn’t even defending this.
Nice informative and logic video. You just earned a subscriber
Wait... they are actualy people in this world who defends being pay for online servers?!?! What?!!?
Very good video with excellent points my guy. You've earned a sub
Damn why are people defending the fact that they are losing money😂
Because people are idiots who believe that liking a company's products means you must worship the company like some infallible overlord
They probably rich and don't care about people who have a hard time earning the cash.
Because people are so used to get screwed over
Some mistakes literally everyone is making:
Edit: to see proof for point 2 you can look at some videos titled like: can a 200$ _300$ pc can beat the ps4/xb1 or can a 500$ pc beat the xb1x
Also for point number 3 - the steam's big picture fearure alone can get your pc to function like a console and at the same time stay a fully capable PC...
@PC GAMING IS DEAD Care to elaborate?
But I have some points i have to make:
So to me the series s is effectively 600$ and the series x is effectively 800$, it could be more or less depending on how many years they are around, i only count this because on PC i was never required to use such service (that is by a way a scam to make money with no effort)
Bigsteelguy4 sure its a Good idea but we all know they Need the online in gold for Anyone to buy it

It worked perfectly fine on the ps3
But then they got greedy
We're already paying for the hardware and software, plus internet services.. I don't see why we should pay to play online.. I'm just basically just played single Player games offline nowadays, been like that for awhile.
wait, you use BING????
Free Xbox currency just for searching
oh yes, i forgot they did that. kinda funny how ms needs to offer incentives to use their search engline
awsomDixie that’s what I thought. They’ve been doing shit like this for years with Bing. They REALLY want it to be the new Google
Want to hear a joke?
Consoles.
I cannot wait for the 10th gen consoles to force us to pay a fee for turning them on
paying for online on consoles is the main reason i swapped to pc

Exclusives are the only charm of consoles. PCs are much more cheaper when we compare its price with the amount we spend on consoles as a whole which includes online, games at full price and so on.
How can we make a change , bigger UA-cam should have talked about this problem.
I am console gamer myself
And I absuletely HATE it that we have to pay for online multiplayer
So most of us including me is kind of stuck alone in a corner anable to ply our favourite game online
Now this is funny
Freegames : no need to pay to play online
paid game : pay to play
Imagine the next generation of consoles you didn’t need to pay for online
You're giving Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo too much credit.
The reasion these companys still charge you for multiplayer is because the know people buy it, all we have to do is not pay for it. Then they will realize that it hurts them, thus forcing them to do somthing else.
I play console and was quite sad when getting a ps4 cause with the ps3 you didnt need to pay.
I paid for my tv
I paid for my game
I paid for my ps4
I pay wifi
I pay electric
The fact that people actually care about filling the wallets of companies that don't give a shit about them is completely beyond me
Gamepass is pretty much the only acceptable paid gaming service in my eyes.
Xbox live gold is a scam, there should be lawsuits.
edit: i know this is pretty extreme but i am pretty butthurt ok i never got to play cod online cos of those bastards.
This makes no sense from a business standpoint.
awesomeness4627 from a business standpoint... "We're making MONEY!"
CrazyDolfeen yah that's the point of a business.
awesomeness4627 so... what doesn't make sense than?
Yeah but I could give a fuck about a multi-billion dollar business like Sony and Microsoft. If Valve can do it, so can they.
Normally pay to play is a artificial paywall that you have to buy from to get the full experience, this is litterally pay to play
