One way I found to work on getting closer/spending time with God (because I struggle a lot sometimes) Is when I wake up i try to remember to say "thank you God Jesus for the day you have made, help me to rejoice and be glad in it". I know that's just a stepping stone but it helps me to try to be more positive and reminds me that I need to put God first. I struggle with this, reading my Bible, and praying. I'm just not good with relationships. I always tried to be there for people but I don't put in a lot of effort into relationships continuously and I think that's one of the reasons it's hard for me to have one with God. I'm like "well God you know everything, please help me, thank you, um ok talk to you later". I'm just awkward and it is something I need and try to work on. The question you answered about intrusive thoughts helped the other day, thank you, but how do you deal with the feelings of disappointment and failure when they come back. Sometimes it will be a while without them and my heart is so focused on Jesus, and then all of a sudden, like instantly, they come back and my perfectionist ideas creep in and I feel worthless, dirty, not useable for leading in ministry. You guys always inspire me to open God’s Word everyday!

Dear Ashley now that I am out of college a lot in my life has changed I am now a youth / young adults ministry leader for my church as well as still being a young farmers and ranchers leadership program chair person a member of Florida farm bureau a part of the 4h association for my county a volunteer at my community center and a girl scouts volunteer so needless to say I still do quite a lot of balancing my life out but I make God my number one priority over everything else in my life it definitely stresses me out from time to time.
I’m a 6 on the enneagram but my second most one is a 1 I totally understand being a perfectionist and an introvert and really needing to recharge by myself. I love y’all and be confident!
