I came here because I'm trying t understand whatever it is I deal with. How would you categorize someone whose muscle memory will become convinced at random times that the wrong action is the one it ought to perform? As in, if I want to perform a keyboard shortcut, I may have hit the same keys for years, but then, somedays my hand is drawn to wrong keys as if it's always pushed those keys instead. Same for trying to set the table or grab things out of the fridge. I look, I decide, and then my hand does something different. It's more than just clumsiness, because it doesn't seem random, but like it's specifically choosing what would be the most humiliating or frustrating or annoying other action it could take. As if my brain thinks I need to feel humiliated and angry, and is making sure to supply that regardless of what I decide to do.

Thank you for sharing. If you go to the cerebral palsy playlist on the Utah Neuro Rehabilitation channel, you might get some ideas to help.

    Hi Dr Judy,
Thanks so much for your videos. I wanted to ask, if there is any way I could call you to discuss my sister's recovery please?

I have a problem where I can't say the letter d or words starting with the letter d even if I know how to say it. Is this apraxia of speech?

I just ran across this video. My son has apraxia of speech and very mild apraxia with his movements. He is in speech and OT. We just started him in martial arts to improve his strength and balance and the repetitive movements and planning..,but my concern is with future head injuries. His doctor says it’s fine but doesn’t know much about apraxia.

Martial arts is a great idea for him. I certainly would avoid future head injuries. Wearing a seat belt, using a helmet when biking and not doing contact sports are good ways to avoid most head injuries.
