    The Witcher® 3: Wild Hunt is a story-driven, next-generation open world role-playing game, set in a visually stunning fantasy universe, full of meaningful choices and impactful consequences. You play as Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter tasked with finding a child from an ancient prophecy.
    Geralt of Rivia, is a witcher, or monster hunter for hire, a white-haired and cat-eyed legend in his own time. Trained from early childhood and mutated to gain superhuman skills, strength and reflexes, witchers like Geralt are a natural consequence of and counterbalance to the monster-infested world in which they live. As Geralt, you’ll embark on an epic journey in a war-ravaged world that will inevitably lead you to confront a foe darker than anything humanity has faced so far-the Wild Hunt.
    Built exclusively for next-generation hardware, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt marks a new era in RPG visual quality. Raising the bar for the entire genre, with its deeply integrated 5.1 audio and jaw-dropping graphics powered by CD PROJEKT RED’s proprietary REDengine 3, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt promises an entirely new kind of experience.

    Never read the books, never played the games, never watched the show… I was bored in class one day and somehow your gameplay part 1 popped on my home page and I decided to watch it, and man I didn’t regret a single minute of it. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for keeping me entertained for such a long time. I wish you very best in life George ❤

    Although I like this ending and its a nice conclusion to the Witcher franchise and to your playthrough I cant help but feel bad for Dettlaff. Used as a tool and a pawn to kill humans and his friend De La Croix in order to save Syanna/Rhena. From what we learn about him he helps humans, restrains his bloodlust and is as honourable and friendly as Regis. As far as monsters go he acts and behaves better than most humans. Not only does he show restraint when learning of Syanna's betrayal he gives her and the Duchy 3 days in order to simply talk with Syanna. Now while his attack on the city may have been rash it was entirely down to Anna Henrietta to solve the problem by simply handing Syanna over to talk with Dettlaff (Syanna even wants to talk to him). The massacre that takes place in my eyes can wholeheartedly be blamed on both Anna and Syanna, so many innocents died because of them. Even worse yet Anna choses to protect her sister who is behind all the murders, manipulation of Dettlaff and ends up planning to kill Anna as her last victim of virtue. Not only does Anna protect her sister so feverously she even denies and gets angry when Geralt tells her the truth about Syanna wanting to kill Anna.
    Though I chose this ending on my first playthrough I let Dettlaff live on my second playthrough, one because all the problems that occur can be traced back to Syanna or to Anna, especially her stupidity in sacrificing the whole city for her sister. Two, because Dettlaff is like a blood brother to Regis and its unfair for Regis to pay Dettlaff back by killing him after it was Dettlaff who saved him (also the note Regis wrote was sad). Three, because Regis becomes a traitor to his race of vampires and he is hunted/has to leave due to him betraying the vampire code by killing Dettlaff. And finally I think Geralt facing Anna's anger and serving time in prison is a worthy short term sacrifice in order to save Dettlaff and not put Regis through so much trauma. While its unfortunate that Syanna has to die and you cant save everyone I do think that in the grand scheme of things that Dettlaff can be chosen to live over Syanna. Anyway just some rambling, loved the playthrough witchergeorge and look forward to more content in the future :)

      I agree. I call this the everybody loses ending. People of Toussaint & the families of the killed knights, Dettlaff, Regis all losers. Winners: Syanna & Anna Henrietta. Both of them selfish. The Duchess had a chance to save her city and chose not to. Syanna has no regrets or remorse and was going to commit treason. I doubt the people are okay with Syanna just going free.And who cares if Geralt does decide to stay at his vineyard. He'll outlive both Anna Henrietta so he wouldn't have to deal with her forever if Syanna died.
      Also Dettlaff isn't human so you can't expect him to act or have values like he was a human. You can't fully condemn him for attacking the city. if a human did have the ability to do something like that after being used like he was, they probably would do something equally as drastic.

      I did the same in my first playthrough did not know that I can safe Dettlaff after the ending I actually google it to see if there is anyway to spare dettlaff because I like Regis and do not want him to became a traitor to the vams, in my 2nd playthrough I choose to spare him and want Syanna to pay of her actions

I hope you continue to do lore videos. I’m going to re watch your entire play through starting from the Witcher 1.

    I downloaded Witcher 3 about 2 years ago and never even opened it. So when you described why you yourself decided to play I had to laugh because YOU are why I did give it a go and why I'm addicted to it still. I even went back and watched all of your episodes to catch up.
    While I am very sad your gameplay is over just know that you are why I gave the game a chance at all and have enjoyed watching you throughout.
    Thanks so much 🙂

    Your Death March playthrough has inspired me to try my first Death March playthrough. It has been a march of deaths thus far, and I'm just starting Velen. The challenge is incredible, but my skill at playing the game is being put to the test in ways I've never considered. A true challenge, but it feels like I'm playing a quantum Geralt from the books, each death is an alternate reality.

Coincidentally, I just finished my second time playing through Witcher 3, and was finishing up Blood and Wine again in the last few days... so that was kinda cool and odd at the same time 🙂 Thank you for sharing this journey with us 🙂
    Also, on a side note... I am guessing the “I don’t see anything to loot... where’s the will o’the wisp?” thing was just playing up the suspense. 😉

    I honestly felt the same about the good ending being the best one available yet. As I see it, both Syanna and Dettlaff were at first victims who were unwillingly dragged into a cycle of hatred and revenge without asking for it. Yet once they were in that cycle, they both freely chose of their own will to continue it by doing evil deeds on their own.
    The main difference being that, if you do as little as talking heart to heart to her, Syanna will take her responsabilities, accept to undergo trial and, most importantly, *forgive and let go of her hatred* ,breaking that cycle of revenge. Not only Dettlaff is unwilling to even listen, let alone forgive (what did he even need 3 days and attacking the city for? he could have done the same at Dun Tynne and be done with it if he did not want to parlay at all), but will attack Geralt and Regis too if he doesn't get his way. And if left alive, will walk away without even facing a mock trial.
    Which is why I think among all endings, the good one is the best we can have.
    Great video and great commentary, I absolutely loved this series and the game.

    • @aidanappleyard1236
      @aidanappleyard1236 2 роки тому +1

      While what Dettlaff did was a bit questionable and rash it's not like he wanted to be manipulated and forced to do his past lover's will also he shows restraint also the blame for the massacre in the city falls on Syanna and Henrietta's shoulders and Syanna even wanted to go and speak to Dettlaff but Anna still protected her even after learning what Syanna did.
      She let a murderer walk free just because she was her sister if it was anyone else they would be thrown in jail for life or hanged.

    • @alqamenesh7433
      @alqamenesh7433 2 роки тому +5

      "a bit" Quite an understatement for attempted genocide, everyone did bad thing in B&W, but his was by far the worst one, objectively.
      "he did not want to be manipulated". True, and Syanna did not want to be mistreated so horribly and left to die in the woods as a kid. As I said, both were at first victims, but also turned to doing something bad. In her case, blackmail, in his case, genocide. I do find the second one much worse.
      "the blame" is 99% on Dettlaff, man. He *chose* to destroy a city over an Heartbreak. If isis say they will blow up a building unless the president gives them some person, and the president does not comply, who is guiltier? Isis, of course. Same for Anarietta. Otherwise it'd be just victim blaming.
      Or it's like saying the knights are responsible for Syanna's blackmail because they treated her so horribly, are they? No, they were criminals for what they did to her, but she chose her subsequent actions. Just like she is a criminal for what she does to Dettlaff, but Dettlaff is responsible for his subsequent action and becomes a criminal for what he does to the city in turn. It's a cycle.
      "walk free" Syanna *still* goes to prison in the good ending bruh, don't know why so many people mistakenly think she goes free when the game itself clearly says that she doesn't, am I the only one who reads character entries and understands that the final hug is *Syanna forgiving Annarietta* and *NOT* the other way around? It's what makes the good ending good: you have two criminals who suffered and had causes to feel angry so you give them both a second chance, the blackmailer makes good use of her second chance, can let go of her hatred, forgive and go to prison, the genocider wastes his second chance by lashing out at everyone when things do nto go his way and meets his demise. It's the morally best outcome.

    • @aidanappleyard1236
      @aidanappleyard1236 2 роки тому +1

      Had Syanna went to Tesham Mutna Dettlaff would not had attacked Beauclair but does she? No and since Anna stored her away that is why they can be part of the blame.
      Maybe she did went to prison but I bet she would get the lowest possible sentence she could get for the things she did.
      What you believe is the best outcome is up to u but for me I just feel bad for Dettlaff and not only do feel bad for having to put Regis through that trauma but I don't like the idea of him having to sleep with one eye open I don't really give a shit about Syanna or really Anarietta for that matter so but hey you do you brotha.

    • @alqamenesh7433
      @alqamenesh7433 2 роки тому +3

      Dude you are blaming everyone *except* the dude who chose to destroy a city cause things did not go his way lmao.
      If I point a gun to a dude's head and tell you "give me 500.000$ or I shoot" and you answer "no" and I shoot, does it mean you are to blame?
      Here Dettlaff pulled the trigger and no one else.
      "lightest sentence"
      We don't know that, it's your personal headcanon and everyone can say he _thinks_ something may or may not be like that, and it doesn't matter much. What matters is what the game tells us i.e. Syanna goes to prison.
      "sleep with one eye open"
      Regis actually says he will go to Nilfgaard where there are no vampires to he will be safe. Plus I have to judge a person by his crimes, not his friends.
      If you like one characters that is ok cause it's a game and everyone can like who he wants, but if we are speaking of morality it's an objective fact that a dead unrepentant genocider and repented blackmailer in prison is the best ending.

    • @aidanappleyard1236
      @aidanappleyard1236 2 роки тому +1

      Okay but Anarietta or Syanna aren't any better than Dettlaff like if you don't kiss Anarietta's ass then she could get all pissy.
      Syanna could have shown remorse for the deaths of the knights or for the fact she manipulated Dettlaff and used him but she didn't which was pretty shitty
      He may have pulled the trigger but Syanna was the one who loaded that gun and caused that explosion.
      Maybe but would Regis ever be able to sit and talk with friends again without having to be attacked or only being able to stay for a limited time? How long until he is able to freely return without bloodshed?
      But whatever you have your opinion and I have mine no good endings are really prevalent in the Witcher only what you deem is the "better" outcome I'm not gonna go back and forth with you.
      Have a good one dawg

    Hello friend. it is sad that this playthrough is over. I just want to mention that you missed a willo of the wisp in the land of the fairytales, this willo of the wisp will lead you to a nice steel sword and to a nice full armor, this willo of the wisp is located in the lack near the tower of Longlock, and also in this lake you will find the corpse of a dragon. also even though you choose the path of the fairytales land, you can still enter the cave of the unseen elder vampire, but don't go to far until you meet the unseen elder because he will kill you, when you enter the cave you will advance until you find two paths: one leads forwards, the other lead to the left: take the left path, and you will find some water in that cave, swim under the water and when you emerge of the water you will find a box where you will find a nice steel sword, take the sword and return back from the same way you came from and leave the unseen elder cave. and finally, good luck.

    I think about 3 minutes in to the left there is a path and I’m pretty sure that leads to a elven cave (pretty small cave tho) any idea if it’s tied to a quest? I found it at the end of my play through by accident 😅

    This is a sad ending for sure... Syanna did have a fifth victim, and it was Dettlaff. I really did feel for him and it was hugely conflicting for me because he really didn't have to hold the city as hostage to get what he wanted, but he had, as you said, been so thoroughly manipulated and forced to undo what was probably decades of work put into retraining himself not to kill humans. The fact that he was ultimately responsible for all those lives is unjustifiable to me but if I were to choose emotionally I would want to give him a second chance since Syanna got the same.

      Yeah I feel like this is a bad ending. Of course Dettlaff did cross a line slaughtering the whole of Beauclair, and that might not be forgivable, and Annarietta was maybe wrong in sacrificing her city for one person and being blind to faults, but the driving force behind his actions and Annarietta’s was Syanna and for me that is completely unforgivable.

    I've enjoyed this series so much! i'll definitely miss these videos. I've always thought cdpr did a good job making the ending for this a choice where there isn't a completely good-everyone lives ending. i'm always so sad for Regis, I wish he didn't have to kill Detlaff because it clearly hurts him so much and regis deserves better. also i definitely feel like anarietta isn't going to let syanna face the consequences she probably deserves, it seems like she's going to let her off easy.

    Never liked this "disney" happy ending, Syanna's change of heart seems so sudden and the abuse she went through in the past doesn't excuse her from what ruckus she caused to the entire kingdom.
    Also didn't like the way she referred Detlaff as a "tool", also all this ruse was only cause she thinks she didn't get enough attention from her "teen" sister, and she "deserves" the throne and those sangreals. Not an ounce of remorse shown towards all the innocent lives slaughtered by Detlaff, which shouldn't have happened had she actually gave a fuck about the consequence of fooling an elder vampire. Extremely selfish, arrogant and vengeful. The kind of people who actually incites the violence and can get away just cause they don't directly have blood in their hands and so shouldn't be punished. She is the real beast of Beauclair. So I chose not to side with anyone, cause both deserves death. To quote Sapkowski,
    “Evil is Evil. Lesser, greater, middling… Makes no difference. The degree is arbitary. The definition’s blurred. If I’m to choose between one evil and another… I’d rather not choose at all.”
    Kudos to CDPR for creating a character whom I have never hated as much in any other games. lolll
    Anna lives which is good for Toussaint. Geralt still gets a happy ending; meeting dandelion, Regis in the end. And finally happily ever after with Yen ;).

      If she didn't care about the people in the city that Dettlaff was going to kill, she would not have even volunteered from the very first moment to meet him to prevent a massacre of innocents, smartypants. Am I the only person with an IQ above room temperature who managed to understand the game?
