Thomas Brown and Eric Washington have both served as Assistant Head Coaches. Thomas Brown has experience working with Sean McVay and Frank Reich. I don't see him as the Bears head coach when watching his press conferences. The team needs a strong personality with confidence. Joe Brady doesn't fit that personality. 5. Marcus Freeman - I highly doubt the Bears take a chance on a head coach from college outaide of Lincoln Riley. 6. Lincoln Riley - A risk with possibility because of his relationship with Caleb Williams. Not sure if it is worth the risk unless Caleb Williams really wants to work with him. 7. Liam Coen - Tampa Bay's offense was doing great this season before their receivers went down. Baker Mayfield is on pace for 4,600 combined yards with 42 combined TD's. It is a HUGE improvement from any season in previous years. They also play outdoors on grass. Liam Coen has a dynamic personality. Go watch his press conferences. He is passionate and is willing to share the reality of situations versus just give the standard answers. He explains in depth and specifically his mindset on various decisions. He has an interssting personality like Mike McDaniel. Bizarre and animated facial expressions and says things that are not expected. Head coaches with personality are very often successful. Yes after 6 rings.. whatever .. i will take just 1 if he can still do it. Why not ??? Do you want to gamble on a nobody out of nowhere? 😂😂 i guess you r .
Ben Johnson is a super high risk. Every year we see coordinators from teams with good offenses or defenses fail as head coaches. Every now and then one of them works out but it is very rare.
It's because people think that the offensive coordinator is a coach and how they think a position coach is. Fans also think that the OC job is only calling plays.
@@sevinbamuels6560it's really just because it's the Bears. People tend to believe that the Bears will always figure it out on defense, hence the emphasis on having an offensive minded head coach. It's also because we've almost always picked defense minded head coaches historically, and people just want to see a different kind of Chicago Bears team.
@peterbruno - It was a great move to give Thomas Brown and Eric Washington to run the team these last 5 games. It can save a lot of the questions and time if they end up being the HC and DC in 2025. Ben Johnson probably has influence from Dan Campbell and their offense has scored 6 more points per game this season and last season. Since the Bears play on grass, that is a concern.
@@YT-Holdings The Lions also have one of, if not the best, offensive lines in football. They have a receiver that is almost always open, a former number 1 overall pick at QB, and the best RB duo in the league. I credit their GM / scouting team for their success moreso than the coaching staff. Andy Reid, Kyle Shanahan, Shawn McVay, Matt Lefleur, and possibly Sean Payton are the only proven difference making play callers out there.
Ben Johnson is the dream, Vrabel is a fair alternative, if Thomas Brown really impresses these final 5 weeks then he deserves a shot. I don’t really want Kliff unless Caleb really really wants him.
@RT - Lincoln Riley is the only head coach in college that would make sense because of his relationship with Caleb Williams. Kliff Kingsbury would be an interesting option but he may snub the Bears because they didn't hire him as their OC. Let's see how it all plays out.....
We need stability and steady growth. I'm going to go for Vrabel as HC, he has experience and is well respected within the NFL. I'd keep Thomas Brown as the OC (to learn from Vrabel, be his deputy) and to bring Calab on (and I think he's respected by the Locker room). It will be interesting to see how he (Brown) does over the last 5 games and to see if Calab flies, I think we're gonna see Calab take off over the last 5 weeks.
Vrabel. Not sold on Ben Johnson as a head coach, but he's an elite OC. If Thomas Brown finishes strong I could see the Bears wanting to keep the continuity.
I would assume that TB has the inside track. As long as Caleb continues to grow & the team finishes strong, I’m sticking with Brown. But my list is 1-Thomas Brown 2-Ben Johnson 3-Mark Vrabel 4-Todd Monken 5-Joe Brady 6-Kellen Moore
ttaylor - Ben Johnson's offense has scored 6 more points per game at home vs. on grass outside. I would imagine that Dan Campbell has some influence on the playcalls. I don't believe he is the best choice for the Bears. The Bears really need Thomas Brown and Eric Washington to do well over the next 5 weeks. The offensive coaching candidates all come with no NFL head coaching experience except Kliff Kingsbury unless I am forgetting another offensive minded coach that will be available that has had previous head coaching experience.
As long as Thomas Brown shows to be capable these next 5 games, that's who I want. Caleb already knows his offense. Consistency and familiarity in a system would be huge going into year 2
Looking forward to seeing how the entire team responds to Thomas Brown, as well as his in-game management and play calling. It'd be great if he can show he's the guy for the job, then the Bears can hire someone like Robert Saleh to be his defensive coordinator.
Don’t let these college HC’s sway you their way. Remember how the Chip Kelly, Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Steve Spurrier, Lou Holtz, Bobby Petrino, Dennis Erickson, Greg Schiano, Butch Davis, and Matt Rhule. Not a big fan of it.
Mike Ditka, former NFL top TE, Chicagi Bears coach and coach of Super Bowl winner, Dan Campbell, Former NFL TE, heps turn around atmosphere/attitude around the Detroit Lions into winners, who has this type of background that is working in the NFL now? Thats the guy I would hire as the Bears next head coach, and find a Budy Ryan (Saleh?) to go with him. My pick out of the list of candidates shared is Thomas Brown.
it is not just who will be the HC. The question that needs to also be asked will be their assistants. To me if the HC cant put together a good coaching staff it does not matter who is the HC. Look and the Assistants that Chicago has had these 3 years. All of them have been subpar in my mind. We need a HC that will bring in quality assistant coaches.
We have 5 games left... if Thomas gets offense putting up 27pts + ... next 5. He's the coach. It's all about can the Bears offense execute and rack up points.. if they flame out averaging 13 to 17pts next 5 games Thomas is out. Search
A few good choices but we finally get an audition that is a true foot race. While I do like Ben Johnson, I am also pulling for Thomas Brown. Now we have a true run-off. Coach Brown knows he’s got to win as many of the 5 games as he can “with no survivors!” *in Bane voice. The stage is yours sir, treat our boys right and they’ll fight for you man!!! 🐻 ⬇️
Mark my words Brown gonna bring the Bears back from the brink with brand new fire. Proof is in the offensive play past 3 weeks hes been calling plays already
Thomas Brown is absurd. That would just be so Bears. Cheap and cheerful. The Bears cannot be gambling with a guy who was a passing game co-ordinator a few weeks ago. They need either a proven, established HC who has a winning record or an elite established play calling OC. Caleb has shown he has elite traits but he needs a strong HC who can keep Caleb’s ego in check and one who has proven he can keep his head in high pressure situations. There is no way Thomas Brown can prove any of that in 5 weeks. Unless we are talking about the Bears going 5-0, sneaking into the play-offs and reaching the NFC Championship Game.
N Ben Johnson needs to be our HC for us to be successful. Put Thomas Brown at "OC" but we all know Johnson would call the plays. We need a real DC too. Getting Ben Johnson, beef up both sides of our line, and LFG!
Ships have sailed: JF, OC, HC. New juice for season restart. Now why hire UNPROVEN HC? Experience needed to develop all 3 sides for future playoff and superbowl runs.
Offensive HC. Then, hire an Offensive Line coach as OC. It’s a promotion for most, so you should get a good one, and man do we need a high quality offensive line guru. Open up the purse strings and grab Saleh as DC. That should help solidify the D.
I'm a bit concerned about if Thomas Brown doesn't become a HC for Bears in 25 where would he go. Would he stay OC or would they can him, which in my opinion would be a mistake.
Anyone saying Vrabel clearly has not paid attention the last 3 seasons..If I'm Poles.. It's Ben Johnson or I'm reaching out to Dungy or Cowher to gauge their interest.. might even consider Kurt Warner or Matt Ryan..We need someone who has an offensive mind and has coached great offensive players
Poles should do an anonymous roster voting and see who the players would like the HC to be. Just for the insight. If "Thomas" wins out he should 100% be the HC next year. If he wins 3 out of 5 and beats the Packers maybe. If he loses the last 5 games then he 100% should not be the HC next year. If the offense plays well but the defense doesn't and they lose most of the remaining games then try and keep Thomas as the OC and bring in a defense coach as the HC. I like "Lovie Smith" for this situation. He's the best coach we've ever had since Ditka. This would be the best roster he's ever coached. It's a little early to decide on a coordinator for HC at the moment. We need to see how the season ends. I don't like how "Brian Flores" was reportedly speaking to players while he coached Miami. I'd like to see how "Marcus Freeman" and Notre Dame finish this season. He turned that team around for real. If Notre Dame goes to the National Championship he should seriously be considered. For me the #1 HC available is "Jon Gruden." Superbowl Champ and a winning HC. We know he casually used misogynistic and homophobic language to disparage people in emails several years ago. I don't believe he's a racist even though he made fun of a black man's lip size. Not thinking that affects how players respond to being coached by him. At the same time I do think the McCaskey's wouldn't hire him because of all of it. Gruden and Belichick are 15 million a year coaches. I think the most the McCaskey's have ever paid a coach is 4.5 million a year .. Eberflus. They always hire cheap 1st time NFL HC's. Most likely they'll do it again.😐
It’ll be Thomas Brown if they keep Poles! What we should do? Wait till the season is over and wait and see if the 49ers fire their head coach! If they do hire Shanahan!
too early to predict.... gotta wait two or three games. Thomas Brown will call these games and I want to see how that will work out on all levels before making guesses I d be happy if it were successful... then we d have another guessing game -> i.e. who is gonna be OC

I think Thomas Brown is by far the leading candiate.
Ben Johnson is the dream, Vrabel is a fair alternative, if Thomas Brown really impresses these final 5 weeks then he deserves a shot. I don’t really want Kliff unless Caleb really really wants him.
I could see Lincoln Riley being the next Bears coach, though can't say I'd agree with it.
Knowing the Bears, they probably stick with Thomas Brown and don’t consider anyone else.
HC Mike Vrabel + OC Thomas Brown
HC Ben Johnson + DC Dennis Allen
HC Lincoln Riley + DC Robert Salah
Thomas Brown for sure is #1 on my list if he pans out and is a bulwark between all the chaos for Caleb.
I would assume that TB has the inside track. As long as Caleb continues to grow & the team finishes strong, I’m sticking with Brown. But my list is
1-Thomas Brown
2-Ben Johnson
3-Mark Vrabel
4-Todd Monken
5-Joe Brady
6-Kellen Moore
Mark Vrabel?
Bears unrealistic obsession with Ben Johnson continues
ttaylor - Ben Johnson's offense has scored 6 more points per game at home vs. on grass outside.
So, far we've looked good with him as OC
Don’t let these college HC’s sway you their way. Remember how the Chip Kelly, Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Steve Spurrier, Lou Holtz, Bobby Petrino, Dennis Erickson, Greg Schiano, Butch Davis, and Matt Rhule. Not a big fan of it.
Dan Devine
Mike Ditka, former NFL top TE, Chicagi Bears coach and coach of Super Bowl winner, Dan Campbell, Former NFL TE, heps turn around atmosphere/attitude around the Detroit Lions into winners, who has this type of background that is working in the NFL now? Thats the guy I would hire as the Bears next head coach, and find a Budy Ryan (Saleh?) to go with him. My pick out of the list of candidates shared is Thomas Brown.
I agree with you on Kliff.
Thomas Brown Hell yeah.... Definite YES 2025
it is not just who will be the HC.
Defense, Mike Vrabel
Offense, Thomas Brown depending on how the team looks with the remaining games left.
Where is all this thomas brown talk coming from? He hasnt done anything.
Your point about Riley is valid. I wouldn’t consider him for HC but OC yes I would consider him
Ya but would he really wanna leave USC to be oc though. I know others have but I probably wouldn’t if I were him.
Thomas Brown would Suck..Kliff Kingsbury would suck
Top defensive guy is Vrabel, he has done it successfully before
My gut tells me that they fall in love with Brown, and he's the man next year.
N Ben Johnson needs to be our HC for us to be successful. Put Thomas Brown at "OC" but we all know Johnson would call the plays. We need a real DC too. Getting Ben Johnson, beef up both sides of our line, and LFG!
Great video. I like T Brown. This is a tough test over the next 5 weeks but I think the players will decide his fate.
Ships have sailed: JF, OC, HC. New juice for season restart. Now why hire UNPROVEN HC? Experience needed to develop all 3 sides for future playoff and superbowl runs.
Bears will probably find some female candidate at least for an interview just so they can show what a great culture they have.
Hopefully we'll find out in the next few weeks that it should be Thomas Brown
We have to see how he does in these five games I like what I've seen so far
This is Ideal to have TB auditioning for the job the next 5 weeks. Ben Johnson is definitely No. 1. Monken is higher, as well as Arron Glenn.
Wow really surprised Ryan Day not mentioned...I've seen some rumors about him leaving OSU
Keep Thomas Brown as OC & have him revamp the offense. Bring in Vrabel as HC.
Yes i would love to see TB do well enough the rest of the yr to get this job
Thomas Brown is wayyyyy lower. 5 games is not enough for such an inexperienced coach with mixed results.
Ben is too smart to go to the bears😂
Anyone saying Vrabel clearly has not paid attention the last 3 seasons..If I'm Poles.. It's Ben Johnson or I'm reaching out to Dungy or Cowher to gauge their interest.. might even consider Kurt Warner or Matt Ryan..We need someone who has an offensive mind and has coached great offensive players
You said it he has to earn it,words and actions must line up
Chucky Hiring Brown would be a Bears thing to do.
Vrabel, top defensive coach and my second if Shanahan becomes available.
IDC what nobody say Bill belichick should be #1 on this list.
He knows what it takes to win multiple super bowls .
I’m on the Thomas Brown train I hope he does really well and if not Ben Johnson
I still think they will keep an eye out on what the 49ers do with their head coach end of the season
I would say if the Bears win atleast 3 of the next 5 he should be at the top of the list.
I like Mike Vrabel I like Ben Johnson and we'll see what Thomas Brown does
Give me either Ben Johnson, Vrabel or Brown. Either way we need some damn leadership from whoever we pick. Wouldn't hate the idea of Lanning.
Thomas brown
Knowing the bears, probably Vrabel, ,Flores, or Belichick.
Flores i like but i dont think he'll mesh here
It’ll be Thomas Brown if they keep Poles! What we should do? Wait till the season is over and wait and see if the 49ers fire their head coach! If they do hire Shanahan!
too early to predict.... gotta wait two or three games. Thomas Brown will call these games and I want to see how that will work out on all levels before making guesses
I d be happy if it were successful... then we d have another guessing game -> i.e. who is gonna be OC
