Someone has to make the hard decisions because that’s part of life. Life keeps changing and keeps your head up when life brings you down.
This is classic Bears. They get a guy who will be cheap. There are a lot of Notre Dame meatball fans who are also Bears fans, so they know they'll get more leeway.

I'd stick with Brown before I hired a college level coach. ESPECIALLY in THIS situation. This team has A LOT of TALENT and CAN win with the RIGHT coach in place.
I'm not crazy at all with Freeman. Name 1 coach that had 0 NFL experience to have success in the NFL with no previous history of coaching in the NFL. The only one really is Jimmy Johnson. That's an unnecessary gamble. If it doesn't work, that's essentially the rest of Caleb's Rookie contract.

Why aren't we trying to hire Nick Saban as our new Head Coach?!!?!! That man built an absolute juggernaut at Alabama and has put so many dominant and great players in the NFL!!! The most important thing is QB development and a good Ol and DL coaching the rest falls into place. If the trenches are trash and qb play is bad theres no point turning up to play.

But like you said, I want an offensive guy and someone with NFL coaching and play calling experience
I'm ok with taking a successful college HC to be a coordinator, but not as a HC. If you have to answer questions about your HC with, "can he or will he", it's a no. "He has or he did", that's what I'd like at the HC spot.
Dont like the “extensive” search they’re going to do. Hope that means deep into top candidates and not wide by bringing in 15 guys
