03 350Z PO300 Misfire, Random Misfires And What To Check For !

- 350z misfire PO300 Cylinder One Misfire. Car started off with a few problems from a cracked manifold. Changed the manifold and had to replace both camshaft position sensors and changed coil packs and plugs using NGK. No check engine light on but comes on with car misfires at random times. These are some things you will need to look for on your 350z and applies to other cars as well. Found the test pipe leaking very badly right before the 02 Sensor. This can cause lean conditions burning the plugs out and causing air fuel ratio to be off which in return the car will run lean and cause a misfire to happen. No leaks were found on the vacuum check around the plenum and hoses.The only code that ever pops on my car is a misfire on cylinder one but happens a random times and cylinder one is located on the same side of where the test pipe is leaking. Its a really bad leak and the bolts have come loose from vibration over time and the gasket will need replacing as well. Man i'm going through such a hell of a misfire. 3 mechanics looked at my Z already, 2 diagnostics done and i took it to the Nissan Dealership and they couldn't find anything wrong. Biggest headache i've ever had

Hey man this is my other UA-cam channel I am commenting from. It turned out to be a leaking plenum vacuum leak and my camshaft position sensor was going bad too.

Funny I stumbed upon your video I have same engine my flex connector started leaking I let it go I got misfire the converter needs to reach certain temperature having the leaks screws everything up in these Nissans thanks for video
Before you replaced the sensor did the car throw a code for the knock sensor
i have the same code on my z changed sparks/coils it worked for abt a week then it went right back to shit. put fuel treatment in it worked until tank was empty then back to shit. tired it again 2 weeks later just to see for myself if it would clear through (it did till tank was empty) just checked injectors and the stream was fine. do you have any idea on what it could be? Don't want to dump money in for it to not work nor do i want to bring to shop to spend double the money on what could just be a simple fix. as well as pulled fuel pump apart (wasnt really dirty at all) but it ran normal again with full power for abt 20 mins. any help would be great. -thanks
An when you changed the spark plugs was there any oil on the plugs like even just a little bit oily

Be sure didnt plug coils in backwards!!!! Bought car shooting flames popping at idle for cheap and thats all wrong
I got the misfire after changing my valve cover and I tried changing part big mistake, so I took it to Nissan dealership to check up and they stated passenger side valve cover getting to much air in the cylinder they didn't help at all, but I'm try to disassemble it again cause the dealership stated it needed to be for $1,750 bruhhh...
Try tightening the intake manifold bolts in sequence order, 18 in total . chart can be found on 350Z Forums
Hey this is my other UA-cam account it turned out to be a leaking plenum and I had a camshaft position sensor that was going bad too.
Great to hear I recently had my intake manifold powder coated had the miss when I did not follow the bolt sequence , back running as it should ,
Thanks and Yeah those plenums are very touchy when there not torqued and like you said following the sequence. I am glad its back running strong. I been working on a 1993 civic sedan here lately. Its my daily and I threw some bolt ons on it LOL. Any car I have ever owned I just cant help but to mod it. I am seriously thinking about running a turbo kit on the civic with low psi and tune.
Help! My 2010 370z nismo has a CEL on with random misfire code P0300 with high idling at 1000 rpm. After an oil change, new spark plugs, welded a crack in the catalyst converter, new exhaust gaskets, code P0300 is still on. Then I changed camshaft sensors, cleaned MAF sensors and code P0300 is still on plus new code P0011 bank 1. Car was in sluggish limpy mode and couldn't get pass 2200 rpm. I reset CEL and now it's drivable and can get pass 2200 rpm but CEL is flashing. Should I change ignition coil bank 1? Thx.

I've also got this error code, popped up once on a sighting lap track day (cold, just first lap).
I've cleaned the injectors with carb cleaner/9v battery, a few little deposits came out, got new o-rings for them too. I'm putting new cam sensors and spark plugs in, and checking the coil packs (have 2 new ones spare).
I'll also check the test pipes for leaking.

My shitty test pipes are doing the same thing on the same side so whatz the end result? ive been kicking myself in the ass for not checking the first thing that popped into my head the pipes
Having same problem but mine was cylinder 6 then couple days later random misfire , I have test pipe , change coil pack and spark plugs , thinking of getting new fuel injectors
Hey did you ever change the fuel injector? I ended up having a leaking plenum from where I installed the gasket wrong with the 5/16 spacer and I had a bad camshaft position sensor.

@@nxck.z3416 I installed a 5/16 spacer and I had a feeling I might have done something wrong and sure enough I had the gasket in wrong lol under neath the plenum. Did you ever get it fixed?
@@justinandrasstikwititfitne2161 Haven't fixed it yet have new injectors and test pipes on there way as i will be trying them out since i did coils plugs and tested for vacuum leaks so only thing is could be fuel and or cats
I hope you can get it fix! Mine backfires when slowing down,,pop-pop or just one pop and not loud! I’d had the upper plenum cover, K & N filters installed, DC headers and Invidia cat back exhaust put it, it’s smooth and faster mid range acceleration but only when I am pulling into a light or stop would misfire a little! I’ll have my mechanic check the upper plenum cover for leaks, vacuum hose Check and do compressions test and the spark plugs as well. I thinks it’s the upper plenum gaskets is leaking that my mech touched and put silicone glued!

Yeah my plenum was leaking and I had a bad camshaft Position sensor. I want to install headers but man there such a pain lol.
