He seemed so shy, so emotional . I will never forget what he did for F1,and I think about what he would be doing now if he was still with us. I believe he would have been married to Adrienne, had a family and would be just living his life with his family and friends, they way it should have been. RIP Ayrton, we will forever miss you .
Nobody will ever come close....nearly twenty years on from Imola and this world is and will always be a lesser place without this true legend and icon. RIP Ayrton Senna
Senna's presence was so huge and hypnotic. And Ayrton Senna talking to Murray Walker; the two of them shaking hands... Does that combination get any more legendary in motorsport??
Senna-Sational!!! Thank you Autosport, what a brilliant interview, getting Ayrton to attend the awards was a mega coup, not even Michael Schumacher has ever attended. What a man, a hero, legend, the Senna movie has reinforced his status as the Greatest Driver ever. Obrigado Ayrton.
I have wondered about his feelings towards the Brits who really made much of his his career possible, and here is his gratitude, clearly and sincerely expressed. Great men with such a talent and humanity are rare. And in some contrast to the high gloss products that normally drive racing cars in our corporatized era. I respect all professional racing drivers, as drivers. Some as men, too. Yet the early '90's was a great epoch for F1 racing. Manual gearboxes, mechanical grip, and no power steering, minimal areo, etc etc. The "imperfections" make it all interesting and worth while.
"For all those people in Brazil, for his fans around the world, he will alwasy be young, Ayrton Senna will always be fast, he'll never be old, he will always be the champion of Brazil and of the world." John Bisignano - 'Senna' Movie
He got me a Degree I watched a Senna Documentary every September before started again at University and approaching my Exams he gave me confidence and strength
no matter many times i watch any interveiw with senna ,i can't help but just sit and listen ! he was (and i still hate having to say 'was') the great driver of all time !
what an amazing human being, giving credit where it is due! You can sense honesty and sincerity in every single word spoken, whether he is speaking in a event like this or answering reporters' questions at a press conference. What he said at the end is to show what kind of a human being he was; crediting his success to those who taught him everything on racing when he was young. Rest in Peace Ayrton Senna. P.S. any one has the vidoe from the FISA event reffered to during the interview?
I use to have all the eighties races on tapes and use to follow Senna quite intensely but I never herd this interview before, have ever herd of some one more charismatic we miss you Ayrton
Ayrton - a true class act. I do not say "was" a true class act because my feelings are he, and people like my brother are still class acts (my brother was killed in a single car accident). Actually, Ayrton and my little bro have probably laughed together - my brother not as humble as Ayrton but he loves every person he has ever met. He will fight someone at the drop of a hat (my brother) and then have a beer with them after. So, a beer for my brother, and another for Ayrton - his passion and drive are motivating in and of themselves. Thank You for the video
Aryton Senna is a very special driver, the best in my opinion. The way he was driving the William's in 94 without the Championship winning active suspension in the 93 Prost car due to the active suspension being banned was crazy /dangerous given how bad the Williams was without the active suspension. Senna was winning the race & leading Michael Schumacher in Imola & thats how I will always remember him always pushing far beyond the capable limits of the car to be few secs ahead winning a race , fastest pole man in a class of his own.
The GREATEST of all.. apart of F1 died with Ayrton, its never been the same and never will be. I was privaledged to have seen the greatest F1 driver of all time and thats enough for me ! R.I.P Ayrton x
It’s so interesting to remember a time when this kind of awards occasion merited a thought provoking and quite serious discussion. Today it would just be hectic jump cuts and “hilarious” banter
It's got to be all casual and jumping around these days to keep the TikTok generation watching, because they have no attention span or depth of thought any more. It's a joke now.
The best driver of all times, besides Fangio. The rest is just the rest, no matter how many championships the next one pilots will win in the F1. This first place will never have other pilot than Senna and Fangio.
We owe a lot of the Senna movie, don't we? Not only did it acquaint a whole new audience with him, it lead to a resurgence of interest in him among fans, old and new. Which lead to the release of archived footage such as this. Thanks for the upload, I've always seen short clips of this ceremony, but never it in its entirety.
I believe that film helped people to finally achieve a catharsis which hadn't yet been achieved. People began to speak about him much more openly (even here in Brazil) after the documentary came to light.
Senna was such an emotional person, great F1 driver.
He was truly special human being.
Such a gracious, sensitive, and brilliant man beneath all that power and speed. Lovely to see this duality. Rest in peace, Ayrton.
When he talked, you listened
Considering how calmly and relaxed he speaks, I cannot comprehend that this same man had one the most sharp reflexes in F1
Power comes from stillness. Have you ever seen a neurotic samurai let alone any competent warrior?
I can.
Also in nature the better hunters are very calm when they aren't hunting
Like Freddie Mercury rock star :)
Ayrton, we still miss you so very much.
On May 1st it'll be 30 years without him - howevever, I now know that he's very much alive in people's hearts all around the world.
This kind of people change the world. The greatest of all time, RIP Ayrton!
Not the greatest really not
@@FLIP238 who would it be if not senna?
@@FLIP238 Really YESSS!

God,what a man
You are right. What a guy! God only made one Ayrton.
When Ayrton talked, everybody listened. Even those that in these days would be labeled a hater.
I'm so glad I saw him "live" at Donnington GP 1993 " The Lap Of Gods" . A year later he was gone . So sad RIP The Greatest of All Time: Ayrton Senna
Out of the car he was a sweet, nice man. In the car, he was ferocious.
Ayrton was a beautiful man that drove with his heart. I was very blessed to have known him.
series? tell me more please
Oh oui quelle chance vous avez eu de le voir
Nobody will ever come close....nearly twenty years on from Imola and this world is and will always be a lesser place without this true legend and icon.

Damn 30years now bro
I miss him ❤ Our Brazilian 🇧🇷 hero! Simply the BEST! 👏

He seems very emotional here.
💖

"I am young, I am healthy" hits different knowing he was at 98% of his life
Exactly. It breaks my heart 💔
THANKS ❤
RIP Ayrton, I still miss you deeply.. :'(
Apart from being an outstanding driver on track, what was most inspiring about him was that he had such a beautiful soul
I miss you so much Ayrton Senna
Remember it like yesterday. Just a really beautiful human being...
I’m blessed to know and witness this great human being , one lap ahead, Senna Forever 🇧🇷🙏🏼
I miss him so much, even after 20 years of his death.
30 years now 💔
WOW, 20 years have just flown. This is a brilliant interview and it only seems like yesterday when we lost him back in 1994.
Going back and watching this now is nothing short of surreal. Senna was simply a master at mesmerizing an audience.
30 years later now. Same feeling.
A truly gentleman
A man of passion, emotion, depth, he wasn't perfect, non of us are, but you always see and sense that 'something' about him 🙏💪

Who is your brother
Brilliant man
@silvershearman no, Vettel sounds like a kid. Senna never sounded like a kid, he sounded like a mature racer and thinker.
THE BEST!!!
O melhor piloto de todos os tempos! Simple the best!

Senna dear...i wish i could go back in time with a pocket camera to show you the 1994 Imola tragedy....Unfortunately i cannot mate.... :(
God damn i love this man. I am reminder of my man-crush. This is a true role model and hero. Who doesn't aspire to be like Senna?
