@@Stronghand-yw1lk No accounting for poor taste, I suppose. The guy is a wonderful story teller. It's worth bearing in mind that he holds his own among a community comprised in a large part of actors.
I've always loved how Jason gives each individual Beast their own voice. Cannot wait to see what New York has for the vamily, and I'm already falling in love with these kindred. LA by Night was brilliant with such complex characters and heart wrenching moments. and I can see similar greatness in this first episode.
OMG! Tj! I just got done finishing your recent videos, it's so cool to see you here! Now I know I'm in for a good time if YOU'RE here. The algorithm seems to be working in tip-top shape!!
This is excellent. Great to see Alex with a very different (and happier) character. The others are great as well - very different from LA by Night. Always fantastic to see Yev, a true fan and cherished member of the vamily. I was so pleased to hear "several things happen at once", but was sad that there wasn't a "I'll just make a note." I look forward to seeing the rest of these.
Well, it's the first episode. There's plenty of time for Isaac to get sad and/or miserable. :P Although, even if he does get through the wringer, Isaac seems like a very different person compared to Jasper, so I think he'll handle things very differently.

I'm so excited to see a baby Ventrue! The power dynamic of someone with a need to control but who's the lowest in the hierarchy is going to cause so much beautiful tension!! I'm way less familiar with Tzimisce and Ravnos, but I can't wait to find out more about their banes and compulsions this chronicle.
Tzimisce are beautifully cruel, one asked a man "how does it feel to see your insides?" After turning him inside out, the man responded "a wise man can always look within." The Tzimisce embraced him then and there. Vlad Tepes, yes THE Vlad Tepes impaled 20k people of wallachia and then approached the Tzimisce in the carpathians, demanding to be embraced. He cited his recent acts as a reason, and was also embraced on the spot. As I said, beautifully cruel.
The Ravnos are pretty interesting but their original lore was pretty problematic. Basically, they were all Romani and were associated with being "Criminal Gypsie tricksters" now they're "Daredevils and tricksters" long ago in the lore, the Ravnos would have their skin darken the older they were from the mark of Caine (Kinda like mormon myth) So the reason why you don't know about then much is because not a lot of people were comfortable having to play racist stereotypes of people that have been oppressed for centuries.
@@grimjudgment6527 Not all of them. Only the western branch of the clan was associated with crime and vice. Those who lived in the east managed to largely avoid that bit of stigma. Unfortunately, White Wolf's method of resolving the situation, was to purge virtually the entire EASTERN branch of the clan, and leave most of the survivors hailing from the WESTERN. Really sent mixed messages.
@@grimjudgment6527 The skin darkening was a trait of clan Assamite, and it stemmed from their use of Quietus. It's said the elders of their clan became so dark, they resembled living shadows. I can't find anything in my V20 talking about the Ravnos getting darker.

Honestly, love the darker undertones and personalities in this chronicle.. Really feels different in atmosphere to LA by night.. All from the personalities, to the first encounter with the local Baron, their first objective, their solutions. All of them are of them are the similiar yet far opposites. Great way to show different cities containing radically different politics and personalities not just within the people but within the Anarch movement itself.. Cant wait to see how this group shapes up to be..
This is the BEST surprise; LA by night used to be a supper-time ritual for me & my hubby. We'd spend a month on a new season, just savoring every minute. I've got a pan of Jaipur Kharhi on the stove and some vindaloo chicken in the oven... cannot wait to feast and watch tonight like old times!!!
28:00 "if you're trying to intimidate us, you've done it" coming from a Ventrue that was...weird...but she's less than a year old, so excellent roleplay
I’ve really been looking forward to this! Very nicely done. Especially on edge considering these kindred are so young they don’t know to be scared of a Tzimisce.
When I realised they didn't know, I got so giddy. It's so much fun watching players and characters realise they aren't the scariest bitch on the block when a Fiend shows up.
I've never played Vampire The Masquerade and this is my first World Of Darkness episode, but I'm a huge fan of Iyengar so I absolutely had to give this a gander. Thank you so much WOD for giving my favourite TTRPG player a stage
That was awesome! Thank you Jason for storytelling, thank you Alex, Aabria, Joey and Mayanna! Can't wait to see you again this week. Love the new team!
I am so glad to see Jason Carl back behind the DM screen. I have missed you. Although great job as Strahd Von Zarovich. I am so hyped for this game, it's gonna be great.
I am completely new to this, coming straight from Critical Role Campaign 3, (and Calamity!) And it makes me so comfortable seeing Aabria Iyengar here. I'm so glad we were all graced with her ever changing existence.
Delighted to be able to watch another serie with the great Jason Carl as storyteller. I'm already fond of Alex Ward as a player and I'm eager to see how the rest of the cast does
Awesome first session! I loved the Beastial Failure for Isaac during the chase. Well played! :D The Beastial Failures & Messy Criticals are one of my favorite new mechanics, second only to the Hunger system. Those changes really put the drama and horror back into the game. Really fun session. All 4 players did great RP with fun conversations and reactions. Rey's attitude; Serif's troublesome perky nature; Fuego's sensual flirtatious "soft power"; and Isaac's otherworldly creepy determination. Loved it all. Great job by Jason Carl giving just enough direction to let the players explore and react to the world.
Jason Carl saying "drink it like a water fountain" managed to be simultaneously creepy within the story and adorable just coming out of his mouth. I love the way he narrates these campaigns as well. He rocks.
I loved this one :) The best of all is that this group appears to be much better acquainted with game mechanics, which opens the doors for much more situational roleplay. Just to make it clear - I loved the roleplaying and characters in LA by Night, as well as the story. However, I wished time and time again that players would deal with some of the game mechanics that the Vampire: the Masquerade offers, like compulsions, Humanity checks, etc. I am never a stickler for the rules, I just think using all the mechanics of this game gives a lot more opportunities for character development and interesting outcomes. And of course, I've just realised how much I missed the dry humour of Jason Carl and his snappy remarks ;) I do feel I am back home with this series, so I am looking forward to next week :)
Oh my god, the dramatic pause, comments and smiles from Jason Carl and Alex Ward at 22:35 was definetly my favourite moment and had me grinning from ear to ear; it's so good to have some familiar faces with this (for me)-new and awesome cast!! Thank you so much to all the cast and crew for making this, when I first found LA by Night I never thought I'd be actually playing the game, but here we are some time later and my first session is scheduled for this month! I can't wait to see what kind of trouble this lot will cause, I'm so excited I'm rambling, I just wanted to leave a comment for algorythmical purposes lol
The way Jason portrays each character's inner Beast makes me so interested in what he'd do as a Shadowguide in a Wraith game... I'm new to the By Night series here but I'm really liking the cast on this, they're all quirky and fun. Special fondness for Serif and Fuego but everyone's doing great. Excited to get caught up for season 3!
Man I want Jason to narrate an audiobook book to me so badly. Any of the Anne Rice stuff, there is a series I've planning on getting around to called Fred the vampire accountant. Just anything, such a good voice for narration, especially dark stuff.
Kinda hard to not remember of the LA by Night music intro after the Jason Carl presentation, so remarkable! I'll to get used to to this new one, eventually... Wish you all the best on this new chapter! Let's go vamily!
People talking about Mercer effect and here I am suffering from Alex Ward effect, filling me up with unhealthy expectations from my players. Such elegance! Awesome acting!
As an OG WOD player, I have to say that I'm happy to see this great game gain popularity again. The new cast for the NY chronicle is pretty entertaining. Looking forward to every episode.
I wanna to compliment Jason's level of knowledge and mastery of everything thats happening he always feels in control and is always weaving the story. And also I love how young everyone is in this one, a great difference from the more experienced coterie in LA by Night.
Wow. Just WOW! Played this on occasion in my 90s NYC high school days... watching this with headphones on, the ambient background music, what a way to set a mood. I still have MY official sterling silver Malkavian lapel pin... wear it on occasion pinned to my suit. Nobody has ever identified it. This GM is a treat.#malkavianforlife
Just wanted to say that I love the new cast. Each of them played their respective roles perfectly, with their distinctive personalities being showcased early in the very first episode. I can tell that this will be just as enjoyable as LA By Night.
Supposedly Aabria's clan prefer to be in power. Her trying to act frail and subservient is out of character. I hope it's a power play to eventually grab control
So glad to see Jason Carl back and his love for screen! And seeing Alex play another "monstrous" clan, I'm excited! I haven't seen any of the other members yet nor their work, but I love Gangrel and the creative ways people try to play them other than just savages, maybe this is why I love Beckett so much, so I'm also looking forward to this Corporate Gangrel. It's also another Anarch coterie and they're playing fledglings as well, not even Neonates, so they've just been plopped down in this dark world recently! This is good, especially for new viewers as well of VTM.
the levels of women supporting women in this is so cute and funny it’s this fairly brooding type of story and they’re constantly complementing peoples outfits i love it so much
They’ve actually had a one shot on international women’s day, with Alex Ward as the storyteller. And by my knowledge before it Vampires was a tabletop game it was more LARPing meetups and communities all just in the game, so I think them having the outfits be a direct part of the character is what makes it more it’s own thing through homage and further separate then say DnD
Im overly delighted to see the story continue, or should I say start anew! It is now confirmed Jason has mysterious powers of calling the vamily, as for past few days I've experienced flashbacks of LA by night, and otherwordly longing for the show. And what do you know, the new season has already 2 episodes out! Science cannot explain this. I welcome my fixation back.
I'm starting a game with some new roleplayers and I'm so glad we found this to give them a taste of gameplay! Y'all are wonderful and I look forward to watching the rest of the chronicle!

I lost it at "so you work for some bitch named Freddi Spaghetti", Aabria is an absolute gift from the universe. So excited for this new Chronicle.
"Kindred, Embrace... so fucking pretentious." She's just a mood all-around :D

Hello Vamily, I have been a huge fan of LA by night and thanks to the wonderful storytelling of Jason it has inspired me to run my own Chronicle set in Glasgow. I hope these timestamps help everyone
Thanks for that, they're super detailed!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
You are great! just a tip, capitalize break starts and ends so its easy too see :)
Thank you so much for these!
Are you still playing?!
Man I've been waiting since LA by Night finished for more Jason Carl led VtM. I've missed those dulcet tones. Stoked to see Alexander Ward back as another body horror style vamp, and can't wait to see how the new cast preform.
@@Stronghand-yw1lk Man I've sat through lectures that I wish fit this definition of 'monotone and long winded'. Might not have fallen asleep :D
@@Stronghand-yw1lk No accounting for poor taste, I suppose. The guy is a wonderful story teller. It's worth bearing in mind that he holds his own among a community comprised in a large part of actors.
"You got big narc energy, dude..."

I've always loved how Jason gives each individual Beast their own voice.
Cannot wait to see what New York has for the vamily, and I'm already falling in love with these kindred.
LA by Night was brilliant with such complex characters and heart wrenching moments. and I can see similar greatness in this first episode.
my body is ready
But is your Humanity? :P
And your mind and soul are not?
OMG! Tj! I just got done finishing your recent videos, it's so cool to see you here! Now I know I'm in for a good time if YOU'RE here. The algorithm seems to be working in tip-top shape!!
I could be wrong, but Alexander Ward seems to love playing clans that accentuate the Body Horror aspects of Vampire the Masquerade ;).
He said he’s always wanted to play a Tzimisce, and he finally got the chance
This is excellent. Great to see Alex with a very different (and happier) character. The others are great as well - very different from LA by Night. Always fantastic to see Yev, a true fan and cherished member of the vamily. I was so pleased to hear "several things happen at once", but was sad that there wasn't a "I'll just make a note." I look forward to seeing the rest of these.
Well, it's the first episode. There's plenty of time for Isaac to get sad and/or miserable. :P
Although, even if he does get through the wringer, Isaac seems like a very different person compared to Jasper, so I think he'll handle things very differently.
A-ha! Aabria is the first thumbnail. Someone understood the assignment. Congrats on a new chronicle, Mr. Jason Carl

Lmfao I love how they all broke character at the second of thought of giving dogs chocolate that’s awesome and heartwarming
Baby Ventrue trying to assert dominance
The Coterie: "Listen here, you little shit!"
The Ravnos are pretty interesting but their original lore was pretty problematic. Basically, they were all Romani and were associated with being "Criminal Gypsie tricksters" now they're "Daredevils and tricksters" long ago in the lore, the Ravnos would have their skin darken the older they were from the mark of Caine (Kinda like mormon myth)
So the reason why you don't know about then much is because not a lot of people were comfortable having to play racist stereotypes of people that have been oppressed for centuries.
I love how Alex is victor now. Gets a beastial failure and nearly kills someone. He has a driver who seems super cool! He also has shirts in his car in case of emergency! I love it!🥰🥰🥰🥰
Look, when you play a face in the party, you kinda have to plan for when besital failures happen.
Espeically if you aren't wearing all black.
He even has his own Ib :)
Serif's little giggle when she got the bullet out of her was delightful.

Issac's calmness and smile freaks me out a lot but he's already turning into my favourite

Alex essentially became the groups next Victor, but with an awesome twist! Can't wait to see what else he can do as a Tzimisce! ❤
I 100% agree, I am already fully in love with this new group.
I'm so HYPED for a new Jason Carl narrated vampire story!! Woot!
And of course him making a note.
What a delicious ritual! Thank you for making us part of your evenings.
I do the same thing LOL! Cook dinner and then sit down with some series on to eat with my friends LOL! Good times, good times! ^~^
28:00 "if you're trying to intimidate us, you've done it" coming from a Ventrue that was...weird...but she's less than a year old, so excellent roleplay
Yeah its understandable, and she did took control of the situation in the taxi area though.
But it was also very ventrue in a way, direct, objective and weirdly reassuring, in "skip the formalities, now, to the business at hand" way
@@philipearakaki yes it was the perfect combination of inexperienced yet instinctually ventrue
Yaaas I love that J. Carl is showcasing TTRPG safety tools and helping normalize it. I just finished LA by Night and super eager now for NY by Night.
Gods I love Serif's New York accent SO MUCH. It hides out , but when shes doing her rat dance it REALLY comes out.
Can we ever hope to get this adapted to an animation, so that the rest of the world can witness this amazing story and world? I keep hoping.
I see that Alexander Ward still has trouble controlling his hunger. XD
I've never played Vampire The Masquerade and this is my first World Of Darkness episode, but I'm a huge fan of Iyengar so I absolutely had to give this a gander. Thank you so much WOD for giving my favourite TTRPG player a stage

Delighted to be able to watch another serie with the great Jason Carl as storyteller.
I'm already fond of Alex Ward as a player and I'm eager to see how the rest of the cast does
Awesome first session! I loved the Beastial Failure for Isaac during the chase. Well played! :D
The Beastial Failures & Messy Criticals are one of my favorite new mechanics, second only to the Hunger system.
Thank you for putting in a Ravnos character they don't get many stories. Tzimisce was also a nice touch. Looking forward to watching these new series.
Jason seriously has the most soothing voice.
I love the energy of this coterie. They're each delightfully twisted in their own way.
Absolutely loving this! Jason is blowing my mind with the accents and the energy he's putting into these characters! Love these new characters.
I hope they release a podcast for this also like they did for seasons one and two of LA by Night.
Working on it! :)

Wish you all the best on this new chapter! Let's go vamily!
Amazing, I'm loving every bit of this so far, very excited for the next episodes! And I'm so glad to see Alexander Ward again
Glad to see the "Shirt Compartment" has become a thing! 🤣
So hyped for this. Jason Carl is my all-time favorite GM.
Jason Carl & Alexander Ward they work so well together. Jasper was my favorite in LA by Night and now its Isaac.
Jasper is the kind of character that is the fan favorite on TV shows HANDS DOWN.
People talking about Mercer effect and here I am suffering from Alex Ward effect, filling me up with unhealthy expectations from my players.
Such elegance! Awesome acting!
So great to hear Jason Carl storytelling again! Loved this first episode!
Thank you, and thanks for watching!
Hah... Has anyone made a 'Wolf of Wallstreet' joke yet? 'Cause if not, that's a missed opportunity lol. Corporate Gangrel of New York... nicely done.

Oh I missed that Alex Ward grin
Such a great introduction! Can't wait for Ward's monster to break my heart yet again!
F**k yes! I love Jason Carl as a storyteller. I would sell my eternal soul to play in a game of his.
I ALREADY LOVE THE ENERGY BETWEEN THE CAST ITS SO GOOD I'M SO HAPPY

The romance begins anew. Hello there Screen...
It's so weird watching NOT hunched over the table. Love that he both speaks and composes himself so differently from Jasper
Glad you are back! These characters have already shown such distinct personality, I am excited to see where this goes!
I'm so looking forward to Aabria's Fuego shenanigans! That character's name is EVERYTHING!
"hellow screen, nice to meet you" ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh god what a beautiful thing to see again
Get yourself a person who looks at you the way he looks at that screen
the levels of women supporting women in this is so cute and funny it’s this fairly brooding type of story and they’re constantly complementing peoples outfits i love it so much
They’ve actually had a one shot on international women’s day, with Alex Ward as the storyteller.
And by my knowledge before it Vampires was a tabletop game it was more LARPing meetups and communities all just in the game, so I think them having the outfits be a direct part of the character is what makes it more it’s own thing through homage and further separate then say DnD
@@arietta.c where can i find this one shot?
Im overly delighted to see the story continue, or should I say start anew! It is now confirmed Jason has mysterious powers of calling the vamily, as for past few days I've experienced flashbacks of LA by night, and otherwordly longing for the show. And what do you know, the new season has already 2 episodes out! Science cannot explain this. I welcome my fixation back.
I'm starting a game with some new roleplayers and I'm so glad we found this to give them a taste of gameplay! Y'all are wonderful and I look forward to watching the rest of the chronicle!
