NAM grass is one of the best.I did my balcony with an 'Off Cut' was £100.00 I purchased it for £50.00.Try your local garden centre? Easy to cut,I had to join 2 pieces together using double sided strong carpet tape.also tape around the edges to keep down.I am on first floor.It still looks great after 5 years!

This is such a great idea. my fiance suggested it to me a while ago but I had my reservations. We rent a small flat and I wanted to know, when we move, a) is this easy to remove again without damaging the property, b) does one use an adhesive to stick the synthetic grass to the surface, c) our balcony does not have a roof because and when it rains, will the water drain out (there is a hole in the wall to allow rain water to run out). I hope I am clear. Thank you.

Hey Anfojesus Ann! It depends on where it's installed. If it's a really windy area (like a balcony usually is or can be if there aren't parapet walls that surround the space), adhesive is recommended as well as infill (broom some sand in! ...1.5 lbs per sq/ft perhaps). Keep in mind though if you use adhesive around the whole outer/underneath perimeter then you'll be cutting off a lot of the water flow which happens beneath the turf when it rains. So use glue sparingly as needed and allow gaps in the glue line underneath to allow drainage to happen. Our turf is elevated slightly by it's tuft bind so water is able to move through and then beneath it pretty well following the slight pitch of your balcony. This can cal be done without a drain layer added beneath the turf, though drainage over the area it's installed in, is slightly compromised. In balcony settings, typically no big deal though!
