    What a video. Bloody love your videos mate. And I’m normally really critical on the videos I watch from other locals on the Gold Coast. Bloody solid effort and I have also yet to nail this beast of a thing. Thank you.

    That was awesome Andy. And the best part was watching it swim off.

    What lb leader you using in on that rod and braid u got on that and is it a 4000 size reel?

    • @CoastfishTV
      @CoastfishTV  5 років тому

      12lb braid to 20lb fluoro leader. 2500 size reel. 2-5 kilo Berkeley Dropshot rod. Undergunned for a fish that hard so had little leverage on it.
      Certainly tests out your fitness level which isn't that good by the way. 😂
      Glad to land and safely release this special girl in the end. Amazing feeling mate 😉👍

    What reel and line you were using mate?

    • @CoastfishTV
      @CoastfishTV  5 років тому

      2500 size. 12lb braid and 20lb fluoro leader.
      Very light weight for such a hard fish. I would recommend a little heavier based on my own experience. Goodluck

    You look like you nearly got spooled a couple of times. How heavy was your line / leader ?

    • @CoastfishTV
      @CoastfishTV  5 років тому +2

      12lb braid with a locked FG Knot to 20lb 100% Fluorocarbon leader. Yeah she was a tough fight. The rod had little leverage so it was all forearms and wrist. 20 minutes feels like an hour on these fish.

    Cool fish that was a lengthy fight. They look like they’re in a similar family to shad or mullet?

    • @CoastfishTV

      I don't believe they are related to the Mullet. Cheers mate 😉
