Here Are a Couple Surprising Things About The 2023 Audi A4 45 S Line

When I got the opportunity to review the A4, my expectations were set on what type of experience i would probably get. And for the most part, those expectation were met. But the A4 45 S line really surprised me with certain aspects of its character and driving dynamics. The fact that this is not a true S or RS line car from Audi doesn't do its "regular" nameplate justice.
The Audi A4 competes in a very tough segment because not only is it competitive amongst manufacturers, but the consumer is also pretty demanding. Cars like the A4, 3 series, C class all have to be luxurious, sporty, and have style. So the Audi A4 definetely has loft expectations to meeting and a high standard to live up to.
So does the Audi A4 with its more powerful 45 trim level and S line trim take it to another level that can compete with the sporty M340I from BMW, you'll be surprised on how it performs. So, in this video ill review the A4 45 S Line and share my thoughts on the interior, exterior styling, mechanical details, and tell you why it has surprising performance.

Some extra info: the mmi and virtual cockpit are now shared between the a4,5,6,etc, the a6 and upper get the hvac controls replaced with a 3rd screen. The interior of the a4 and the a5 are 1:1 identical. You can get either cooled or massage seats, but not both. Heated windshield and heated steering wheel are optionals or part of packages. The steering wheel heating is only on/off, you can’t make any adjustment (except with obd11). As an owner of this variant, I find the mmi screen perfectly placed there as I can easily see it and it’s really sturdy despite what you’d initially think. It’s rock solid with no flex whatsoever. Ah, as already stated in another comment, the 40tfsi and the 45tfsi differ both mechanically and in ignition cycles, they are not the same engine with a different tune, the piston heads, rods and such differ quite a lot between the 2 engine power variants.

I’ve had this for a year now and your video is spot on. Comfortable and quick but not a boy racer car.
If you want a S4 then buy one. If you want a quick balance, then this is just great.

5:15 I prefer the MMI where it’s currently at. With so many manufacturers using touchscreen, its height allows a driver to not take their eyes too far off the road in comparison to multimedia interfaces that are lower down

I have this same car. JB4 really wakes up the torque and pulls/performs like a S3/S4. Working on E40 on custom map now. Pulled a 12.73 on a pretty soft launch.

19:30 the ACC will break harder if set below 3 lines. At the 3 setting it doesn’t hard break and it’s fine

Please keep in mind that the engines ARE NOT identical as they are denominated as distinct variants and differ in both some internal key components as well as fuel ignition cycles…. It’s not just a tune from one to the other, the 45tfsi is a whole different beast vs the 40tfsi

The presented car is well equipped but it does NOT have every single option of the model; the interior trim is the base aluminum looking one, you can spec much better ones and the interior package itself can be either base, design or s-line; the car has the base one, possibly without interior lighting package (hope it has it, it’s a shame to miss it). You can also spec front glass with acoustic shielding; it’s basically 2 glasses with some transparent foil between them, albeit the whole glass width doesn’t increase. The car is in the S-line trim, but only exterior S-line trim and it includes front and rear bumpers, side skirts, badges, lowered but stiffer suspension and bigger 18” wheels by default. In other markets you can put the s-line trims on any engine, including the entry 150hp one. Ah, also you can (and the car is missing) add electronically adaptive suspension. The adaptive suspension actually fixes the issue you tackle at the end: the stiffness in comfort mode. With the adaptive suspension in comfort you do glide around in it :) great video anyway, thanks for sharing

I have this in white as well s line trim. It’s fast and quick and love the car but I do feel like something is missing.
