- The Unknown God, also known as the Sustainer of Heavenly Principle. Portrayed as the antagonist of Genshin Impact, she is very much shrouded in mystery. But at the very start of the game, this Unknown God might have made the biggest mistake that would haunt her for the rest of the game. With so much mystery within the game of Genshin Impact, the best we can do is to theorize and speculate while waiting for more information. But is the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles mistake, just a simple mistake? or something more to come in the future of Mihoyo Universe?
It will probably take years to get a clear picture of what this Unknown God is and how it relates to everything in Genshin Impact... We really need more information.

The sustainer calls them "outlanders" so obviously she knows they are not of teyvat but she is angry so wants kill anything human and she 'sustains' teyvat so i think she must be the false god and must be a low ranked god in celestia.(because only archons which are among the 'weak' gods stay on teyvat so it must mean the higher gods disdain the idea of walking amongst mankind)

But what if all of the sustainer's shenanigans were actually just a way to put the spotlight on her as "the villain" but in reality she kept the twins on Teyvat because Teyvat will crucially need them at one point.
What I'm trying to say is: she intentionaly made herself the bad guy, because why in the hell would she release them after and let Aether wake up years and years after his sister?
Or is she already dead, killed by another deity that is much stronger than the archons? This could explain why the Tsaritsa is doing what she's doing without being stopped by the one who set and sustains all principles.

The unchosen twin traveled Teyvat before the fall of Khaenri'ah, and even in the game there's a scene where the twin remembers the destruction of Khaenri'ah where the same cubes where used so yeah this theory is cool and all but don't work on a narrative perspective.

Maybe the Unknown God wants the twins to overthrow Celestia so she doesnt have to do it herself and risk losing the fight
When did Venti or Zhongli call them "not human"? The twins could be "humans" from other worlds, which may explain why they couldn't use visions. Besides, she said "the arrogation of mankind" and "outlanders", which probably has more to say about the origins of the twins than their identities themselves.

The cataclysm wasn't caused by the Abyss Order. The Cataclysm was the destruction of Khaenri'ah by Celestia, which turned the Khaen people into the creatures of Abyss Order.

But from wiki what i came to know is that Gold(which is probably albedo master) was corrupted by its own greed and created an army of shadowy monsters with the help of the abyss which led to destruction of Khaenri'ah by celestia and its people turning into monsters of the abyss,
But the technological advancement can also be the reason why Khaenri'ah was destroyed by gods of celestia.
I believe Lumine and Aether are the King Piece in chess and the sustainer is the arbiter. She won't let them rage quit.

I think the story will last a maximum of 7 years. We have two regions and we are about to get a third. If Celestia ends up being a region, there will be 8 places. With 5 more regions not including Inazuma, it also leaves time for anything that might happen after Celestia. This is if we only get one region a year, but we might get more within the year.

Well in genshin manga they've given some info on celestia. They say it is a place of gods. And people who they choose get to enter there. And by entering the celestia. Those normal humans get immortality and look after their lands. Like vanessa. The one jean mentioned. Vanessa got into celestia by venti. And she becomes a kind of eagle and she always looks after monstad.

And even how Paimon has the same annoyed attitude as the unknown god did in Honkai, but Paimon is actually much nicer showing they are actually kind of different in personality. Paimon was found in the water. So people think Celestia is where she is from so maybe they pushed her. Or if not the traveler was right where Paimon was so unknown god could have sent her to the same beach.

@@daddyzongdong857 paimon DOES mention a few times that she gets tired floating so perhaps what she's saying is actually true and that tiredness caused her to almost drown, although the reason how she got there in the first place is unknown to me.

But some flaws from this is that, how did she drown the moment the traveler awakened, i mean whats the probability of that happening? And if she was really drowning, what was the cause of her being in the water in the first place?
My theory: when the unknown God is talking, she's not even talking to the twin, but to herself addressing humanity. She just use the twin to literally sustain the heavenly principle. They are just tools of this world. Trust her, she's doing the job of sustaining. Enter faith right here.

If you know about the belief called *"Gnosticism",* then you may already have an insight as to how Genshin Impact's story will turn out.
According to Gnosticism, there is a greater God and a lesser God. I will not go into further detail about it since it'll make this comment longer than it already is, so I'll just say those that are worth mentioning.
Gnosticism states that this lesser God created-this term is VERY specific- *"archons"* to help him rule this world (the angels and other heavenly beings may be what Gnosticism calls as archons). Bruh, the archons we know in Genshin are literally doing the same thing for Celestia.
In addition to this, they say that the lesser God is the God which Abrahamic religions think as one and only God, and this God envies humans because we turned out to be far more divine than Him and his archons. As a result, this lesser God casted humans into this flawed material world, erased our memories of our divinity, and imprisoned us in mortal bodies to suffer. WELL HOLD UP. Doesn't it sound familiar?
The humans in Teyvat put their faith in the archons, and therefore to Celestia by some extent since archons are under Celestia. We also know that Lumine and Aether are potentially more powerful in lore than even the archons and gods in the story, so it would be reasonable for the Unknown God (which could be inspired by the lesser God from Gnosticism) to strip off the twins' powers from them and trap them in Teyvat.
PS in Gnosticism, "gnosis" is a term for "knowledge" or like hidden knowledge, and it claims that true salvation comes through gnosis, wherein one can be enlightened and realize one's own true divinity that the lesser God once erased from one's memory.
Having said all this, it would make sense that Celestia gives gnoses to archons because these gnoses enables them to unleash their true divine power, yet the gnoses are also shaped like chess pieces to symbolize that those who hold them are under the control of the individual who keeps the highest ranking chess piece and the most valuable of them all-Celestia, and it's even possible to be in the possession of the Unknown God.
Celestia destroyed Khaenri'ah for rhe same reason that the lesser God in Gnostic belief made humans suffer-Celestia was jealous of Khaenri'ah's prosperity and glory despite being a godless nation, and so Celestia destroyed it 500 years ago, cursed its citizens to become hillichurls, and erased most of their memories (similar to the lesser God who erased the memories of humans being divine on their own).
However, their memories weren't entirely erased, so that could explain why hillichurls are still capable to have their own language system, traditions, and cultures as if they were humans-because hillichurls really did used to be humans before Celestia decided to punish them for being too advanced as a glorious human civilization. This is how the Abyss Order was formed, and this is why they thirst for revenge.
Celestia's injustice towards humanity may be the reason why the Tsaritsa is now planning a rebellion against them-to win humanity's freedom from Celestia's rule. We also saw how Venti and Zhongli seemed to be fine with handing their gnosis to the Cryo Archon in any way.
Given that the two are the remaining members of the Original Seven and had been archons for 2000 years, I wouldn't doubt that they have witnessed Celestia's dark side, and possibly even controlled by Celestia through their gnoses to wipe out human civilizations they do not favor, including Khaenri'ah.
Besides, Venti does seem to avoid the conversarion whenever we talk about Celestia, and Zhongli himself wish to keep his mouth shut about it too. What's worth mentioning though is that Zhongli said that the time of the gods is at an end, and the time of humans is finally on the rise.
To conclude my comment, this is my whole point: Celestia is the real enemy.

Little information regarding the travelers:
There was a so-called "Project Ark" in Honkai impact which is a mission to find a new world for humanity. And project ark contained 2 "stars"
If Honkai and Genshin are linked, this explains a bit why Fischl is in both games

When you open the paimon menu, Paimon shows up and freezes time... Hmm... Mihoyo could've just made a simple pause menu like in other games, but since they went on ahead and made paimon the pause botton, may suggest that she is the God of time, 😅I'm probably just talking about nonsense here, sorry for wasting your time
I strongly believes that she is the God of Time, one solid evidence is our ability to manipulate time in Paimon's menu and Paimon's crown that looks like the hands of time pointed at 6 o'clock. Like why would we even need to manipulate time, aside from time specific quest we have no other need to use it

At our max powers our twins couldn't even land a hit on her / we see in the memories of lumine that the sustainer destroyed a nation easily so her power level is greater than any being in the genshin world = abyss / tsarista are no match for her

Conclusion : the sustainer is a corrupted being serving someone else stronger but she definitely is the strongest being in game till now

Though every act has a good outcome. If Aether/ Lunime had not have went to the world to continue the story, then our precious emergency food (Paimon) wouldn’t have been saved, and she would’ve drowned.

What confuses me and interests me the most is that how did Lumine and Aether ended up there in the first place, what is their motivation and goal, why did they want to go to the "next world" and what is even the "next world" all about

Lumine and aether travel worlds
Its not confirmed or anything but there's some pretty decent evidence pointing toward the twins actually being the "ARK Project" from Honkai (A project sent into space in search for a new world for humanity). If you look into it, Vol. 8 Ch. 12 of the Honkai manga shows two "ships" that look like shooting stars flying next to each other. Look up "Mondstadt Musings 1: Into the miHoYoverse (Part 1)" to go down that rabbit hole lol.
We know so much about every character except the traveller we play as in the story😅

Here is my theory.
Maybe the Sustainer did kept the twins here for a reason and if we are going to connect your Gnosticsm Theory my guess is that the moment the twins arrived in Teyvat, the Sustainer gained a realization that her Creator is nothing more but a Fake God and she secretly imprisoned the twins in Teyvat in order to use them some day to overthrow the fake supreme god of teyvat.

Not gonna lie but I just took this from Shin Megami Tensei's story where Lucifer, Yaldabaoth's/Demiurge's greatest angel rebeled against him after finding out the truth about the Aeons and the Monad.
On a slight tangent, the Hindu triumvirate also consists of three gods: a creator, a sustainer and a destroyer.
Since we know there is a creator and a sustainer, that may be suggesting there is a destroyer too (maybe paimon lol)

Maybe she’s seen man suffer enough at the hands of strangers, or maybe she knows/thinks that the twins will destroy teyvat if left to their own devices?
@@prettyrat. ooh I like this theory. Perhaps Paimon is a creator instead (since she’s definitely from celestia and seems to know the most about the world). The twins are theorized to also be sent from the creator so that would make total sense
@@prettyrat. that seems to be it, even in the most basic details. If you examine both twin's fighting styles, one's attacks complement the other, essentially creating an unstoppable style. Aether uses his hand for geo elemental burst, while lumine uses her leg.

I read this from the Twitter account that I've been following.
It said that there was an interview with the mihoyo and Lisa was mentioned. This is what The Director of Mihoyo said.
" Treat them as not quite supporting characters but they have their own path that we can get deeper and explore on. For example, Caster Lisa. She touched a magic book when she was young that gave her most of her powers but it cut her life in half so she only has a few years to live. It creates a very carefree personality of someone that just want to live life. "
I think this is the reason why she left Sumeru Academy ( Character Story 5 ) and this quotes " Before demanding too many miracles from the gods, first consider if you are willing to pay the price they ask. "
If you notice, Lisa's constellation shows a hourglass. That means her time is running out.
And here, you might notice we have an Anemo characters. Like Venti, Xiao, Sucrose, and Jean. ( I didn't include Traveler here )
If you don't know, this Anemo Character's that I've mentioned had a friend/family that left them, Either they were killed or vanished.
And one of the character is Jean.
Jean is Lisa's friend. Who knows? Maybe Jean is the next who will lose a friend.
In Honkai Impact, Mihoyo also killed a playable character ( I think? ) I never played Honkai before but I did try but it didn't last long. For all I know they killed a character which is I don't know the name.
Someone also said that " Maybe that's the reason why she became a librarian! If she use her vision/powers it will consume her time! "
So please make a theory of Lisa! Everyone has to know this!

If I'm not mistaken, Teyvat was one of the project S.A.V.E. but they thought it failed. So how the hell? That girl is definitely Sirin but UGH was she sealed in there and thought she was the God so she stopped twins -who is from Honkai- to let the others know that this world exists, or she still does exist, or she breaked the seal, or humans still exist.

Theres clearly more to the divine gods than what we as players know. (And since we still don't get a glimpse of what she's doing. We still don't know. There's a war raging on. And sooner or later teyvat will become nothing more than a battlefield. And khanreah on the other hand. Was destroyed to maintain control of the world. Mankind evolves as time progresses. And soon they don't need gods to watch over them. That's why the archons are forbidden to speak of it. It seems only a few know the real truth. As people seem oblivious of what nation that is. We still have a long ways to go. There isn't enough details yet. So we shall see
I keep rewatching this video and my fave bit is when you talk about the Sustainer thinking the twins are human. Bc they literally sprout wings and summon swords out of thin air so idk why she thought they were human 😭

Okay so, this theory was cool and helpful. If the unknown god is not as evil as she seems, there is possibility that because of her mistake she decided to help the siblings and keep the peace in the world. So that may actually explain the theory of Paimon being the unknown god. Paimon knows everything about anything so it's possible that she's something much higher than just a traveler.
Imagine the sustainer wasn't actually blundering, she probably is trying to teach the twins something.

Maybe when the traveller touches all 7 of the statues, he/she will achieve some sort of supreme power... No wonder why Paimon brought the traveller directly to the Anemo statue of the seven and told him/her to touch it during the tutorial.

If i had to guess, Creator and Sustainer reminds me of those 3 gods (sorry for not knowing much) but they are the gods of creation, preservation, and destruction. If genshin were trying to make something similar to this, the Sustainer would be equal to the Creator. The Creator has "yet to arive", idk anything about this but maybe they will talk more about it later in the story

I like the picture at the END of the video, I had the same thought that the person you showed at the END is the final villain or maybe it isnt but one things for sure. That person exist in Honkai Impact which is waiting for its rebirth to end humanity once more. Mihoyo likes the Idea of making the villain win at the end of the story lmao. I wouldn't be surprise if the character you showed at the END of the video also exist in genshin, knowing that character exist in every reality of mihoyos universe

hmmm... makes me wonder really... since Venti and Zhongli seemed to "know" quite quickly that there was something "fishy" about the traveller, would it be normal to assume that the sustainer actually knows it too? Perhaps she weighted the pros and cons of letting them go, and chose to keep them here (and delay their interaction with the world to buy her some more time). Would it be then reasonable to say, that perhaps, for her, it would have been worse to let them go? Did they "know too much" about Teyvat, and she didn't want that information to reach the "oustide" ? Teyvat seems to be kept in some sort of "bubble" by the Celestians, so do they really want to keep the humans of Teyvat in the dark concerning what's happening "outside" of it, and / or keep the "outside" from knowing about Teyvat? The sustainer prevented the twins from leaving because she knew that the world would eventually need new gods - and one of them will be it - imo. Reason: all the old gods/archons are losing or giving up their powers, so that leaves a vacuum to be filled.

Venti once explained to us that, while vision stands in connection to the archon that granted it to the human, the gnosis stands in direct connection to Celestia.
Celestial and heavenly is basically the same word. One could assume, that the Unkown God is actually the one choosing who becomes an archon and who ascends to Celestia.
This is highly discussable, though, since the Tsaritsa announced that she/he will overthrow Celestia one day. This either means that Celestia or the Unkown God may be to give Gnosis but cannot take it away again, or she doesn't have any of this power at all. Also: Her power doesn't seem to be connected to one of the elements. She is different, we just don't know how, yet.
Anyway, in all of these cases, she doesn't have control over Khaenri'ah which means she is indeed neither all powerfull nor the creator of the world because Khaenri'ah would've actually fallen under her domain. The cataclysm itself wasn't a war between Khaenri'ah and Teyvat, but Celestia, which leads to two facts: Celestia and its gods as well as the ascended, used the humanity of Teyvat as their weapon and shield and Khaenri'ah had no business with Teyvat itself.
Since we know from the history of this world, that humanity once had the ability to communicate to Celestia directly long before Morax' birth ( over 6000 years ago ) this means, that Celestia's primarily focuse was to keep their might against humanity and oppress them. In the Mona event, Scaramouche figured out, that the stars and astrology are all lies and Mona was swaying about this as well, since her master told her, that the stars are elusive. This isn't just some normal phrase, however. Mona's master was friends with Alice and Alice herself was friends with Rhinedottir. Rhinedottir was Albedo's master and an Khaenri'ah'n alchemist. This means, that Mona's master could have actual insights about this world. Because of this, we could assume, that the firmament is actually artificial, created by the Unknown God, or Celestia.
So, Khaenri'ah was destroyed and after that, Hilichurls rose into existence. Maybe, this is also thanks to Celestia, to keep control over human population in fear of another war.
All these clues lead to one result: Celestia, the Unkown God, maybe the archons and maybe even the ascended humans are working very hard to prevent another rise of mankind.
This all means, that the Unkown God is neither all mighty, nor is she the creator, since she could form everything after her will, if she were.
The actual questions are: Why did the outlanders wanted to leave after the cataclysm, why did the Unkown God kept them on Teyvat, why did they wake up seperately and why is none of the archons telling you the truth, yet?

The truth is that Unknown God is actually one of MIHOYO managers. They needed a new game so she locked twins up instead of killing them.

She is SUSTAINER of the HEAVENLY PRINCIPLE, so she just totally another god (her model is asmodai, named like barbatos n morax) that work for the heavenly principle.
Why they need to go there (that login area) to go home though? It make me conclude that he sustainer have one job: "anyone can get inside teyvat but no one should leave" she is a guard dog of teyvat. If the 7 guarding 7 nations, sustainer is up there as royal guard to celestia.
The thing about "why no one should leave" is not a fool move that bring her demise, no. Teyvat seems constructed to be a miniature garden that holds up human life. I theorized that celestia is actually a civilization that know about honkai & doing something about it. They know the bubble universe is fragile, so anything can come in, but no one can come out. Because it's intent is TO KEEP everyone in this save box called teyvat. Like False god or not, if we trace the lore of 2 games, it is kinda & must be linked to this as they limit human development & honkai impact is a fight to liberate humanity from that rule, same case goes for genshin I guess. SO celestia is either WARY of the honkai & create safe heaven for humanity or, celestia IS sentient honkai itself.

The Unknown God should have known that they arent human cause they can travel between worlds and she knew that cause she stopped them. Also as soon as they start to gight they suddenly have Wings and a Sword appears in their hands
You joking. You want genshin characters to fight against fully fledged herrschers. They gonna die. From what we see of the twins before the game and after I honestly don’t see them creating missile guns, blackholes. reverse UNO portals or warping space time.

Unless we include Archons which throw mountains and flip them upside down or create spears as huge as mountains. Archons are comparable with Herrschers.
Imagine paimon is the creator, like, think about it, she knows almost everything about teyvat and she guides you, she has a symbol in her outfits that appears on the ruins and in mora, maybe she started it, but her memory is bad, so she doesn't remembers, but once she gets her memory back, she'll maybe try to help you or try to kill you. I think she would get her memory back by conversating with the unknown god, maybe arguing with the travel too.

the first thing I thought of what could happen is that there might be some s*it going on between the sustainer and the creator. we later join forces with S and C is the final boss but then there is a DRAMATIC self sacrifice of S in the final battle. she dies, we win, we can now leave the world again but we have grown to love it and there is no Sustainer anymore (the other twin came along sometime before too btw.). -> the twins accent to godhood as the new Sustainers and stay in Teyvat to protect all their friends.
