- In this video, we look at a question we are frequently asked by independent music artists: how do I get an artist manager? If you too are asking that question, then we hope this helps provide some insight that you may not have considered before.
Independent self-releasing music artists have so much pre-development to do before the music industry takes notice. Getting a manager on the team is often one of the early goals for most artists. But there is a lot to consider about how the music business works and your place in it.

Thank you for really good advices. I am not an artist, but I am self employed person, who knows the craft, but it is difficult to sell myself. I am like Dr.House - for me is difficult to communicate, but I can solve the problem. Your advices told me that I need to go and develop my skills and then, at some point I will meet my manager👍

I met james browns drummer when i sang at a karaoke bar. We clicked and he introduced me to his buddy who is a producer for Motown. The producer is now offering me to sing his songs. Things just happened so fast unexpectedly, I dont have a manager or a lawyer, so can i have the drummer be my manager who introduced me to the producer?
Sounds exciting! If you think you need a manager and the drummer has the skills and knowledge required, and you trust him, then yes, he could be your manager. Agree with each other about what you aim to achieve over the next year or two and get a simple written management agreement in place. Good luck!

I need to know how to know if he has the knowledge and skills as a manager. All i know is when i googled their names, all they were telling me about themselves are true with their matching faces/photos too from Linked. I feel i can trust him because he's been introducing me to all the big names here who he knows because he said he wanted me to have a break... sounds like a manager whose job is to help the artist get a break, right? So I'm so new and dont know anything in this business that i have to do more research. God lead me to your channel and i love how you are straight to the point and loaded with substance.
