- During the NBA Europe Tour where the Knicks Faced the Pistons. NBA Coaching Clinic I attended to start the year 2013 off. Its was legendary shooting Coach Dave Hopla who's managed to improve the Knicks shooting this season by 7%.
Hope you enjoy this priceless Clinic on how to better your teams shooting!

Regards Coach D
Using his teaching, I shot for two hours from free throw line and did not miss
Guy is one of the best coaches for sure
i wish you were my coach. searching all david hopla vids!
man that guy's old school
Sorry to break it to you Dave, but you turn your feet when you shoot.
Just sayin
Your Elbow is at an exact right angle.
best in the business gotta learn from him
this guys a genius
Anyone else getting a Dennis Hopper vibe from this guy? Pop quiz, hotshot.
Boom doom didi budum dum
Paa paa tee tee tee daa paa 😅👌
haha totally good one
Legend
Shaq dislike this video!
Will do during this week as well as other clinics.
Do the knicks still have this guy on their staff. if not they should
Dave Hopla is still apart of the coaching staff, it's just unfortunate that the team is not executing as well
Lebron needs to do that free throw routine. 2 step one handed shot
I think this man is widely regarded because of the many shooting records he holds. His resume isn’t bad at all but I see what you guys are saying in comments. He seems to favor shooting with just one hand though but how would you control the ball in game situations? I would like to see how he operates in game situations.
3 years later but youre guide or balance hand
It’s called a guide hand for a reason, every nba player shoots with one hand
i dont understant why people say his form is only for shooting open shots. why cant you shoot this way off the dribble or contested. it looks pretty standard to me. similar to patty mills imo.
at 4:50 he says this is the single most important thing in shooting the elbow... something i couldnt hear him. is he saying the 90% angle is the most important?
Post part 2
it looks like he blocks his eye with the ball. no shooting window?
i guess he will miss shots during games but still, i believe he will be able to shoot at least 77%
This guy is good and i respect what he is doing but i might be wrong i have not seen videos of him teaching this in a game scenario when you're tired or of the dribble.
his form is very standard. im not sure what you mean.
is your elbow exactly a right angle or close
That slow old guy at the park that you can't leave open....lol
7:10 thanks
LEGOAT JAMES
Lebron = an unskilled loser
Is there a reason he only shoots with one hand? How are you gonna shoot with one hand and then say you have to control the ball
He is shooting with one hand in order to teach proper shooting form aka how your shooting hand should operate during the shot, cause you essentially shoot with one hand/arm anyway. The other hand is just there to provide support/balance when bringing the ball up for the shot in a game situation and it isn't meant to be used in the actual act of shooting.
i met him
Hold my beer, I can do better
For yall who think he cant shoot in a game scinero he played in college nba and highschool check the stats
Never sued in the nba, you probably don't even know how tall he is, he played in Ireland. Get your facts straight and you should be the one checking the stats
Never played in the nba because of his height. He played in Ireland before he was hired by the Knicks. If anybody needs to be getting their facts straight, it's you.
JSMOOTH For retards: there are no height restrictions either in NBA or any other basketball league
lol hes like 5'10 or some shit how many white guys do you see in the nba under 6'3 lmfao thats probablythe reason why hes not in the nba.
who else noticed Joakim Noah With the Kids
his touch is dirtyyy
Could someone do a summary for this? XD
He yells at everybody and he never misses. Ever.
how is he shooting with the seams every time?
Have you found the answer in 7 years, my friend?
@@jb8785 just shoot the fucking ball, none of this shit matters but to rep rep rep game situation shots with game intensity and alot of reps
standing and shooting catch and shoots shots with no heart rate worth shit
Anyone else from Mr. Kowit lol
LOL NO. He played internationally in Northern Ireland, and was a mediocre player. If he was able to shoot 77% he'd be the MVP every single year.
Or because he was small and not all that athletic (I'm assuming)
Typical New Yorker just your yap the whole time and never shows what he can do Not one technique
Terrible audio. Why is he screaming all the time? Is he a nazi basketball drill sergeant?
+hansjakobli78 hes not wearing a microphone in a large gym
