    All the kids in these comments (maybe theyre not kids anymore) speaking bad on Dave are absolute complete morons, utterly stupid. This guy's tips are amazing. He simplifies shot mechanics into simple, repeatable, easy, and *effective* steps. The lesson is on shooting FORM, and the essense of shooting form is a one handed shot. NO good shooter ever shoots with two hands, unless they are dunking or shooting a granny shot or something. And no, a thumb flick (which actually complicates your shot) doesnt count as a two handed shot.

    I think this man is widely regarded because of the many shooting records he holds. His resume isn’t bad at all but I see what you guys are saying in comments. He seems to favor shooting with just one hand though but how would you control the ball in game situations? I would like to see how he operates in game situations.

    Lol I love the idiots who keep saying he wouldn't do well in a proper game. Do you think Popavich would do well in a real game? No, none of the coaches would, but their job is to read, learn and the teach. That takes a strong mind and not necessarily a strong body. Comment section is full of fucking idiots man.

    Is there a reason he only shoots with one hand? How are you gonna shoot with one hand and then say you have to control the ball

    • @TheJTD78
      @TheJTD78 10 років тому

      He is shooting with one hand in order to teach proper shooting form aka how your shooting hand should operate during the shot, cause you essentially shoot with one hand/arm anyway. The other hand is just there to provide support/balance when bringing the ball up for the shot in a game situation and it isn't meant to be used in the actual act of shooting.

    Shooting is only a part of the game. 99% shooting and no fitness means nothing.

  • @DudeNamedNam
    @DudeNamedNam 11 років тому

    How come it seems like he only takes shots when he's head on with the goal? That's rare in a game. Usually, you're at the side or something. Not straight on with the goal.

    • @theartofcompetition5965
      @theartofcompetition5965 5 років тому

      so he doesnt have to chase his misses all over the place? oh wait he never misses. good question.

  • @ghetifal
    @ghetifal 11 років тому

    The most important thing to learn from him is the importance of consistency. He doesn't have "perfect" form (even if he thinks he does because of his results). What he does works for him and its a shame he teaches it in Nazi fashion, when what he should really be drilling in is the importance of consistency. His jump is rigid (as opposed to the flowing, quick release shots you see in the NBA). There's a reason he's a coach and not a player. Right? You'd think 99% shooting is worth a spot?

    • @theartofcompetition5965
      @theartofcompetition5965 5 років тому

      his form is as standard as it comes. Not everybody shoots like steph curry you know. flowy and quick release is all steph and perhaps a more difficult style to perfect.
