How to arrange and store your SMD components?

  • In this video, I show how I organize SMD components. I store them in a folder will all the content and information the distributor provides. I like to keep that information as it helps me know what is the content of the SMD, the part number, and values. This can help me reorder the same item, or look for a SPICE model if I need to simulate the component.
    I store my components 1st based on type - Capacitor, resistor, diodes, LED, etc For each type I store my components in ascending order - 1st based on value and then based on size.
    It allows me to find any component I need as I can browse through all my components and know where to find what I want as it is organized like a dictionary.
