Police officers are thought to be turning to psychedelic drugs in order to cope with the stresses of their job.
Former Metropolitan Detective, Peter Bleksley explains that officers are travelling to Peru to work with spiritual guides and healers known as Shaimans, who give them a “concoction” of drugs sourced from the jungle, with the effects being reported to be “liberating”.
Peter says: “Back in my day policing was somewhat different, at the end of the day we would go to the pub.”
Kevin O’Sullivan questions the legality of these substances. He says: “How can they arrest people for possession of LSD when they are taking it themselves?”
