do you know why OQK went to Dresden? i thought they get serviced/maintenance mainly in AUH and sometimes LAX

I saw this flying back to australia on Flightaware last night. So Qantas has 7 A380's in service now? not including ones overseas somewhere getting maintenance done

8 now. It will probably be 7 again soon, as one of the A380s (OQL) still has the old business class and is in need of an update. But yes, 8 are now active, with OQA and OQC still in Abu Dhabi.

@@0ne-6right40they don’t want to take OQL out of service or it will be down to 6 during peak season, they will probably do that sometimes next year and also send VH-OQI to get repainted next year

As I understand it, there will eventually be 10 of them. Apparently OQE & OQF ( Kingsford-Smith and either Bert Hinkley or Lawrence Heargraves) are the two to go.

@@michaelhayden725 they already have gone. All 12 of the Qantas A380s were grounded in VCV during the pandemic and all but OQE and OQF have left the desert. They won’t be scrapped, but will remain there for spare parts should the need arise.
