@@givetanks Nope! I thought the same early on and wanted to test it. This one has been powering along for months. The same with ficus Benjamin they thrive as well. 😊

Yep! Ficus ginseng, they do very well in water like this. I've done this a few times now the only problem is that it's so powerful it will take all the nutrients away from the aquatic plants so the tank needs a fair bit of fertiliser
Ficus go nuts in the water. The only problem is that I have to dose ferts quite heavily to give the aquatic plants a fighting chance! You may have noticed the fish stocking changed a few times already as well ☺The white clouds went to cooler waters and the cherry barbs moved across. They love the dark areas and spawn regularly in the back but I doubt any fry will survive.
@@TarasTankFriends He's still rough but he hasn't gotten any better or worse. Which is good and also a bit annoying. He's pretty old though so I think that's just him aging away. He's living in pretty perfect conditions though. Warm water, low flow, good food, lots of space, some mild tannins and clean water. I had him in a heavily planted tank by himself for a long while while i was treating him and he not much changed. Running meds for too long can be just as bad. But as long as he doesn't get worse im happy.
@@IndoorEcosystem that's great to hear that he hasn't gotten worse! I agree that too many meds isn't good either. I feel like their fins can really take a long time to grow back, especially the rays. I think I have stopped the fin rot for mine about a month ago, am just starting to notice little bits of clear tissue filling back in. It would make sense if they regenerate slower the older they are. Sounds like you've cured the rot and are really giving him a great life! 👍👍
@@TarasTankFriends Good to know you have stopped yours as well. I don't think i would get a long fin again just because of the issues. My next one will hopefully be a hendra or something similar. They seem a little more hardy.
Let me know how it goes! I had the same idea the last time I went to the garden store. There are a lot of bonsai there that need resucing! They never water them enough and they always die 😪 Ficus species go nuts in high humidity envronments so they should work really well.
@@IndoorEcosystem Yes same but at least at my garden center i used to work at waters them enough still luckily even tho im not doing it anymore 😂😂 I just dont really know if i should do it as a Center piece for a small terrarium or inlcude in a bigger one

I would really like to try to do this with a crab paladarium. Do you think it would survive? And if it doesn’t, will it negatively impact the ecosystem?
I've done it before in older builds before I started filming them. It works great. You just need to plan for height if you want a long term tanks 😊 if just plant the bonsai on the land section though. If you put it in the water the roots will eventually take up all the space.
Not at all 😊 The footage is a collection over a few months. For example white clouds were in there for a few weeks while their new tank cycled. Then they left and some cherry barbs went in etc. The only long timers are the betta the embers and the corys 😊
@@IndoorEcosystem I'll take it. 😁 Also the music you used is just epic. It's like I was watching a trailer for an action-packed blockbuster. Well done! 😃
There's footage from a few different stages where the stocking has changed. Some fish species went in then moved to a different tank when their new tank was ready. Not all of them are in here at the same time.

At first I thought that u are going to put some crab in the tank but when I continue to watch the video and I saw u bring a bucket of water.
Plot twist! 😂
It would make a nice crab tank but I'd need to find a pretty big lid!
