This isn't nearly that complicated. JT plays the same hybrid SF/PF bigger wing position that LeBron and KD play but isn't as good as them, even at this stage of their careers. Additionally, he wasn't making his shots when he did get the opportunities. These things matter now; it's not 1992-2000 anymore where the US knew they were winning by 30 before tipoff and could treat this like an All Star game. These coaches didn't sign up for this to manage anyone's brand or victory lap or whatever.

And speaking of tools, the fact that the Celtics has five very good starters, was the defining factor, where other teams had two or three. His jump shot has been broken for two years now. Is he hurt? Is it his wrist? Is it mental? Is it his form?
