19:20 Btw, Max Payne didn't jump on a trend to add Matrix-esque slow motion stuff. The development of the game had started long before the Matrix came out, and was pretty much built around slow-motion stuff. In fact, when the movie came out Remedy was a little concerned that everyone would think that they were riffing on Matrix's slow motion stuff.
I always respected Remedy for conceiving original and interesting out of the norm ideas. People can say whatever they want to say about Control, but it is one of the few games that actually felt original in a modern day of gaming.
From all Remedy games, Control is the best one in my opinion, and the best part is, we just got a small glimpse of the world of Control is like, for example vast majority of the story is tied to things that happen in the background, from the story of the Fayden twins, to the story of the bureau, passing to the oldest house, and then going on in the extra dimensional directions, is like you see the Marvel or DC universe by looking at one single panel of a comic book of a very unknown character, that you don't know anything about, but sure looks really mysterious and it looks cool. Theres so much things going on in the background of Control, the lore alone is insane.

Theres a lot of nordic mythology references in the game like the Board is basically a colective o extra dimensional beings, then you also meet another one that was considered and outcast of the board, at first you fight the thing, but in the DLC the other, offers you help, but this isn't even the most strange part of the game, like i said, theres two extradimensional forces fighting and Jesse, the FBC and even the Board were cought in the middle of this extra dimensional war, altough the Fayden brothers were actually the responsibles for opening the door for this forces. Alan Wake 2 is great, but it's probably not the best for me, gameplay is just there and it's a downgrade from the first one, the story is incredible, but how they just ended it with a cliffhanger again...I hope in AW3 they will nail the gameplay and conclude the story. AW2 is too high. You're talking about a HUGELY anticipated release that didn't even make it's budget back, didn't click with so many people. There are things to admire for sure but, in many ways, it's a very "safe" game. Too safe and infused with hand holding, rote character work and dialogue. The appeal and grounded magic of AW1 is conspicuously absent. A convoluted mind fc*k does not a great game make. Control is the superior game, by some distance but top spot should go to AW1 or arguably MP1. MP2 is top 3.
Alan Wake 1 isn't even close to as good as MP 1, 2 or Control. It's entirely carried by it's story - I still love it, but those other 3 games actually have awesome gameplay to match
My take is, Control is some of their best, I loved Max Payne, I had the original when it launched for PS2. For me, the original Alan Wake is one of the worst games I have ever played. It's downright horrible. The sequel, while MUCH better, is no 9/10 for me either but I would call it good, and visually stunning.
What you are talking about? Did you play the game to the end? I get that in the begining of the game Jesse basically only has the gun, but at the end you are flying and dashing around trowing stuff with jedi powers, just the enviromental destruction in Control is fkg insane, from all this games is the one with the best gameplay of them all.
@atecep I thought Control was really boring too. When I got it I thought it had way too many cluttered things in it, the AI was overkill really, and the side missions were sometimes really repetitive and some random. Also having to lose so much energy when you die and then losing so much of it that you can't buy any upgrades or mods is just so frustrating too. Even by the time all abilities were unlocked the game still game me so much trouble no matter what I did. The story too really underperformed in my opinion, because Jesse's brother who she came for doesn't even appear until the end of the story and the way the game ends just doesn't make sense. In Alan Wake the ending was a little cut short but also there were 2 dlc adventures to continue it and they made a sequel, so that kind of works out, but Control just has bad gameplay and story. I noticed building up equipment and abilities and also visual style was more their focus in there than anything else. It took me Assist Mode to even be able to finish it, otherwise I never would have even finished it. The only thing I enjoyed was the Ashtray Maze because of the poets of the fall song. Because they never disappoint, but the game itself did. And after I got all achievements I never played it again. I haven't played A.N but I think I might have enjoyed that better than control.
Haven’t played Alan Wake 2 yet, but the first game is incredibly overrated. I’ve tried multiple times to play through the entire thing since it came out and I can’t. It’s just mediocre and bland. Ranked way too high on this list and both Max Payne games are miles ahead of it.
Have just reached the game-breaking bug in Alan Wake 2 at the Espresso Express and cannot progress. Annoying as I was really vibing with the game until then. Thing is, considering how weird and obscure it can be with puzzles, it took me a second to realise I found a game-breaker. Now I have to wait for a patch. I could ignore the severely frustrating combat, worst quick-turn in any game ever, other glitches etc. The story and presentation is awesome but it's like the game is pushing me away; it's like dating a super hot girl with serious emotional issues.
a dude in the coment section thinks Control is boring... a game where you literally fly around trowing stuff with jedi powers, and the dude consider the game boring...

Max Payne 2 is the goat, how dare you...
KING GHIDORAH!
Alan Wake 1 isn't even close to as good as MP 1, 2 or Control. It's entirely carried by it's story - I still love it, but those other 3 games actually have awesome gameplay to match
I'm cool with AW2 at #1 though, it's the most confident and ambitious game they've ever made
@@b1thearchitect401 #1 could be Aw2, MP1 or control, all are right.
I quite liked control and did not like alan wake to the point to where I could t finish it,should I still play 2?
If you're like me and have your head wrapped around Control lore, absolutely!@@someone7068
NEVER got to play American nightmare …damn you Xbox !!!
Where is max payne 3?
Control should even come before American Nightmare. What a boring game.
@@efxnews4776 I played the game 2 times. When it came out and then before Alan Wake 2 was released and to me it is one of the worst Remedy games.
@@atecep you guys are nuts...
The day I learn not to stick my dick in crazy is the day I know I'm getting old
Update fixed this today btw
Thank God. Kudos to the team for getting it fixed so quick!@@jeremymiller2952
No way Alan wake is better than max Payne 1 and 2 lmao
AW2 is not that high
new game bias
max payne 1 and 2 and alan wake 1 and american nightmare are better than alan wake 2,
I think alan wake is overrated tbh it didnt age really well
Alan wake 2 isn't better than Control. It's actually kinda boring.
Tastes
a dude in the coment section thinks Control is boring... a game where you literally fly around trowing stuff with jedi powers, and the dude consider the game boring...
@@efxnews4776 You can read right?
