I bought two of these this week and put them out in my backyard near my garden, hanging about 4" off the ground. It's Nov 5 and the temp is about 75 where I live. I baited the traps with 3/4 cup of apple juice and 1/2 a Vienna sausage. The results were totally amazing! I had 304 in one trap and 210 in the other. Yes, I actually counted them. I put them out again the next day and the results were the same, although I didn't count them this time. This trap really works but you need to be careful, the plastic is thin and can break easily.

Thank you. Very useful. I like how the bait does not attract honey bees.

Another advantage of giving them to the hens is that it saves a bit of money on the usual animal feed .

I’ve been struggling with these suckers uuugh!!! I tried using boxes, I saw another UA-cam video that looked successful lol. I get yellow jackets inside too. I carry a spray bottle with a mixture of water, dish liquid and peppermint everywhere I go lol! That kills them thank goodness! I’m like a ninja right now. My boxes aren’t head high, so that might be part of my problem too. I’ll try the apple juice and hotdogs. I used wine and chicken fat and skin.

Good video thanks for not bugging me with a bunch of talk not related to the topic but seriously guy you need to work on the caulking skills.

I'm sure it was more due to trying to record and caulk at the same time lol

Don't forget to hang a strip of bacon in the middle that way the apple juice attracts the females and the bacon attracts the males!

TheAudiostud it's only the females that sting so not an issue.

I like the idea throwing the wasps to the hens, but don't feed mould to your hens, I have wasp problem, I got good success with jam sugar water and yeast or beer

I bought one of these traps. It attracted a lot of wasps, but they were able to crawl out of the trap.

      +Ann J:
Don't put the liquid so high that the surface is close to the openings. Once they are in the liquid they should drown. But, if the surface is close to the openings, they can swim to an opening and pull themselves out of the liquid. That way, very few will find a way out.

      +Ann J:
Also, make sure that you put one or two drops of liquid dish soap in the liquid. What this does is break the surface tension of the liquid so that the wasps will not be able to stay on top of the liquid and fall below the surface and drown. Otherwise, if you don't break the surface tension of the liquid, the wasps may float on top and eventually be able to crawl up on the sides and find their way out. I hope this helps.

Don't the chicken end up sting themselves with the stingers from the dead wasps when they eat them?

@David Sanchez You know, I love it when someone answers a question with just a 'No' and offers not explanation as to why. It still leaves a question unanswered. At least, when I answer someone's question, I give reasons, otherwise, I wouldn't answer a question with no qualification.
